What an amazing experience! We were able to freely explore all of the ships at our own pace. The models and exhibits were fascinating. My only regret was being unable to go all the way up in the superstructure. I wouldnt take small children or anyone that has trouble moving up and down tight ladders.

I think it is an awesome place. It needs some TLC as well as a bit more interactive content but overall, it is a great place to touch history. The Massachusetts has a lot of access to spaces you cant get to on the Missouri in Hawaii, which is cool. It is also an all day event, as there are 3 ships, 1 sub and PT boats to get through. It wasnt busy at all but I went during the COVID slowdown; I am not sure how busy they are normally on the weekend. We basically had the run of the Massachusetts to ourselves. The parking lot isnt far so we packed a lunch, hit a couple boats and then went out to the truck for lunch. That worked out pretty good. I definitely recommend it if you are into military history.

By far, the most enjoyable part of living in New England, has been being able to see the USS Massachusetts, up close. Big Mamie is a marvel of engineering, shockingly large, and gives you a touching experience of walking the same paths, as the brave sailors who manned her during the war. This is a bucket list type of experience, especially if you have never seen a battleship up close. The only downside, is that she sadly does not have enough funding, or staff, to keep her in tip top condition. I hope that we are able to preserve her indefinitely, but she does need our support to keep this piece of history alive.

The museum is very easy to locate and has quite a few warships to explore. The smaller exhibits are interesting and worth taking the time to check out. Definitely takes a while to see everything so make sure you have a few hours to your the place. It is one of the only museums that has an East German vehicle from the cold war on display. Definitely worth a visit.

Never been to Battleship Cove before. It is a worthwhile visit!! On our last day of a visit to Plymouth, MA, we found an ad for Battleship Cove on a map of Plymouth and decided we could visit BC as a detour on our way back home to NH. We purchased our tickets online, the receptionist was terrific and confirmed our purchase upon our arrival and we had free reign to visit any ship in any order. It was clearly marked to wear face coverings and there were arrows to keep visitors going in a common direction. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon. Hardly anyone there, so we had no problem going in and around the ships/submarine, seldom running into other people. The PT boat exhibit was shut as well as the Carousel. We spent such a long time on the USS Massachusetts that we were pretty spent, but we carried on to visit the USS Lionfish, USS JPK and the Hiddensee. Luckily those were smaller vessels, so did not take as long to see. There are a lot of videos of prior officers of the ships who worked in specific areas talking about their experiences. If you have a whole day, it will fill your day! We filled 2 hours just on the USS Massachusetts and we didnt stop to listen to every video or read every informational board. The tickets allow you to visit for 2 days in a row. If we didnt live so far away, we would have definitely gone back. Very cool!!

We love this place. We brought our youngest son here for his birthday because of his fascination with ships and subs. This is a good place to take your kids for an adventure and at the same time appreciate history and let them know the bravery of our heroes who gave up their lives for our freedom. We got to see where they eat or sleep and if you want to spend the night there too and experience how they sleep on their tiny beds. We got to experience how uncomfortable they live in such tight space and still have the courage and dedication to serve the country which teaches us also to be grateful for every little things we have in their expense costing their lives.

After leaving in New England for over 34 yrs I finally made it to Battleship Cove! Boy, I was NOT disappointed! Its a self guided tour which is amazing. You go at your own pace, do what you want to do. You have almost full access to everything on the ships. You can feel the history come to life as you walk around. I had 4 younger kids with me (I was the only adult, brave I know!) They had a blast!!!! Highly, highly suggested!

You get to see and explore a real battleship, the Massachusetts. It was really fascinating to see what such a vessel is like. What they did to make life bearable for the enlisted men. And how difficult it was for them. They slept on bare cots lined up 4 deep with just 18 inches of space between each one. The engine room still smells of diesel fuel. Miraculously no one died in combat but it must have been hell being in the engine room when they were going full speed. Warning crawling around below decks is not easy and anyone with limited mobility might have think about this. Also upper decks are not open for viewing.

I always love visiting historical monuments. Battleship Cove was no exception. I visited with my girlfriend. The tickets were good for a 24 hour time period, so we didnt feel rushed. When you visit, they have a destroyer, battleship and submarine from the Second World War. Besides having that, they have helicopters that were from the Vietnam War era. There was a Higgens landing craft that you can enter. This was the same type of landing craft that was used in the D-Day invasion. It gave me a better idea of what those soldiers faced on that morning of June 6, 1944. That landing craft would have been difficult to exit without tripping. I couldnt imagine storming a hostile beach while under heavy fire.I was impressed with the ships. But the one thing really gave an erie feeling was walking through the submarine. The biggest challenge for me was going through the entry way for each section. I am over six feet tall and weigh 240 pounds, so I had to be extra careful. It was also extremely hot inside on account of the humid weather in Massachusetts. I felt confined inside. It gave me a newfound respect for the sailors who endured those harsh conditions during the war in the Pacific. To have to live in those conditions while every day being in danger of dying in cramped quarters gave me a vivid feeling of what it would have been like. That is one reason why I commend those brave men who subjected themselves to such unpleasant conditions like that for our freedom. A lot of them may not not be with us today, but they will not be forgotten.

It was a lot of up and down and crawling through smaller doors. But you got to experience what our great service men and woman did and do. Thank you for having great attractions like this to teach our children about the history of our country and what it means to serve and be part of our great country.

We had a great time at Battle ship cove and the maritime museum. While we were there there we’re hundreds of Boy Scouts just getting there with their suitcases and sleeping bags for a sleepover. I think this is great for the kids but it was a little inconvenient for us. It seemed like they started getting there between 2-3pm.It was really fun. Keep in mind if you use a walker or wheelchair that this activity at battleship cove is not accessible because the battleships were not designed accessible. The museum is accessible for wheelchairs. Also even though we were the only ones in the cafeteria- the cashier would not break a bill for quarters for the penny souvenir machine and the change machine was broken - I was pretty upset about that because my daughter collects those and she wasnt able to get one :(

25 for adults, kids under 3 and active duty military members get in free. For the price, you get an excellent value: 1 battleship that takes over 2 hours to walk through all the exhibits (walking fast), 1 submarine, and 2 smaller ships. The battleship (USS Massachusetts) is definitely the main exhibit with over 2 decks of spaces to explore under the skin of the ship. There was literally a hundred rooms to see, and did a great job portraying life on the ship. A great experience.

Terrible customer service, wont refund money to our Cub Scout Pack for a cancelled overnight during COVID-19 (they cancelled, not us to be clear). Much as we support our veterans memorials, we also need to pay bills and put food in our childrens mouths. Difficult to make contact with them even when we started the planning back in November.

Battleship Cove, like many non-profit memorials, has struggled during this COVID virus issue. Our Scout groups overnight activity was deemed cancelled by the state of MA. Many like us, signed and agreed to a overnight contract that stated deposits are non-refundable. The museum has offered many services in exchange to include visits and rescheduling. Considering they merely exist to preserve the history and sacrifice of our veterans, I believe this museums offering was reasonable given the circumstances. For others to say not to support them is embarrassing and shameful to the memory of all who served.

Battleship Cove is much more than a ship in the water. The entire area is a public park on the water. A large boardwalk surrounds the waters edge and is about mile long. The City of Fall River offers sailing classes and sail boat rentals from the spring to the fall. Learn to sail! In the summer there are concerts in the park area and also a carousel is located under the Bridge. Directly under Rt 195 its very accessible. And if you have time there are two restaurant/bars within a 10 minute walk. Its also small enough to swing by - park your car - and watch the water.

The sleepover program is great, in fact if you were considering going I would recommend sleeping over to get a larger experience. Theres a few rooms inside the Massachusetts that are full of hundreds of model planes, ships, tanks, and more. The Pearl Harbor Experience is also really cool. What makes Battleship Cove especially special is that there are 2 PT boats on land, which are the only 2 left in the world. The ships are also relatively upkept compared to some others Ive seen, there isnt a lot of rust or other potential safety hazards. Overall, a great experience for a 4-year old kid (like I was when I first went) or even a 95-year old WW2 vet :)(Note: If you live more than an hours drive away, youll either A) Need to get a motel/hotel and stay extra, B) leave super early in the morning to get there when it opens. The Massachusetts is very large so plan to spend an entire afternoon if you want to see everything including the other ships and sub. I would do some research on the internet about the ships on exhibit first as it is a self guided tour. I think its a good place for kids who are 6-7 years old and up. Younger children would probably entertained but could get a little antsy after a bit. There Is a good amount of walking involved including narrow stairways down into the ships.
