.What an experience. I came to this town by chance but I also dont believe in coincidence. This 2 floor museum is full of history and surprises. I didnt know about Organic Education or Single Tax corporation. The relics of history here are vast and cant say enough about the man at the door with the Mayor sign on desk. Hilarious and true asset to the character of museum. The photos and biographies are in murals and videos here and it quaint yet spacious enough to roam. Very well organized and interesting like the town of Fairhope itself

We felt like visiting this museum is a very worthwhile experience. The museum was well-organized and labeled. It was not over stuffed and overwhelming. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. A woman who was there today really offered some wonderful information which added so much to our visit.

We absolutely loved the Fairhope Museum of History! Thanks to our knowledgeable Bed and Breakfast host, Becky Jones, of Bay Breeze B & B, highly suggested (about 9x) to the guests to visit! We met Ed, not sure if that was Beckys former Biology student, but he is interesting and knows about sweet-beloved Fairhope- a Single Tax Colony! I will purchase some books next time we visit! I love the history of Fairhope! You need to visit; dont make me suggest it 9x like sweet Becky!!!!!! :)

What an awesome place. This is a must see if you are in Downtown Fairhope. First and best thing is that there as no cost - it was completely free. A couple of interactive things that were cool for kids were to scavenger hunt to unlock the large safe. And at the request of the guide they will lock you in the small jail and see if you can find a way out. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke at great length about all of the exhibits. You should check it out.

The Fairhope Museum of History is a very highly recommended, Must Visit, place on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay! There is such a wealth of amazing history of the City of Fairhope, from its beginnings. The Director, Donnie Barrett, is a lifelong resident of Fairhope. In fact, he and his twin brother, Ronnie, were born across the street where the Hampton Inn is located. Back in the 1950s the location housed the historic Jordan Clinic, where hundreds of babies were born, prior to the establishment of Thomas Hospital. I was also born at the Jordan Clinic, March 31, 1957. So, that location is very special to many of the natives of Fairhope.

A remarkable little museum with interesting and educational exhibits about Fairhope and the area. My wife and I joined a group of Boy Scouts for a tour of the museum conducted by the museum director himself, a man who obviously loves Fairhope and its history. Hint for a fun 10 minutes: ask the director to show you how to make an arrow the correct, Native American way.
