This is my favorite trail in Rhode Island, Ben Utter to Stepstone Falls. I have hiked it in every season and in different weather and its beautiful. It is an easy there and back again trail from either Ben Utter. It follows along the stream for the most part. Sometimes there is a lot of floral and fungi. My favorite time to hike it is during the fall. I hiked it recently and the water was wicked low and there was no waterfall.There is a lot of parking at the top with the red building but its a good 1 mile or so to Ben Utter trail. There is a bit less parking at the start. A few times when I have gone in winter I have not been able to drive down to the bottom. The road is not maintained either.I tried the arrange the photos in chronological order but failed to but they are from different times and different cameras and a few from my insta (mleannegibson).

My boyfriend and I found the trailhead down a long dirt road that wouldve rough for some cars. The hike was fun- trail is beautiful and easy enough. The falls were dry which confused us, but still made for a good 3 mile trek :)

Beautiful tail. Very easy lots of man made walk ways and bridges. The falls at the end is a great place for swimming.

Great hike! Beautiful scenery. Markrrs were a little confusing at first but once we figured them out it was no problem. A great afternoon with nature. We started at Falls River Rd. and round trip was about 3 miles.

Well kept trail with beautiful views. This trail is hidden gem!! Everyone who likes hiking from pro to novice should visit this wonderful place.

Very nice trail along a small scenic river. Not a difficult hike but there enough rocks, roots and other trip hazards to make me say that it may not be suitable for everyone.

The Ben Utter Trail that takes you to Stepstone Falls is one of the prettier trails in RI. It is best viewed when the river is running quickly in the spring.
