Jen Carr gave a very impressive tour and history of Exeter and the American independence Museum. She was very engaging and informative. Worth your time if you enjoy your history.
Wonderful guided tours by knowledgable history buffs some in period costume. Been many times and learn something new each time. Very interesting assortment of artifacts in this historic building
Great little museum highlighting the Colonial history of Exeter and the colonial era in America in general with a very knowledgeable staff and fun activities They just sponsored a town wide Independence Festival with loads of reenactors firing muskets and canons and showing camp life during the revolution.I hope they sponsor another day next year!
Beautiful place plus if you have kids there is a ice cream place right next to it
Wonderful museum. Knowledgeable docents. Worth a visit.
We stopped here as a spur of the moment decision while travelling to Portsmouth NH. What a brilliant decision, our whole trip was made fantastic by our super friendly and knowledgeable volunteer who guided us round. Exhibitions were well laid out, lots of fascinating details and objects.
What a great independence festval today and what a treasure for the state of NH!
Awesome spot with great staff in beautiful Exeter!
Free for military!! Fantastically rich in history!! Well laid out, fantastic guide!, thank you for having us!
Worth a stop to see the handcilored map of NH from early 1800s! Wow!
Many very significant historical items including a long lost draft of the constitution (broadsheet) which is remarkable.
It is a great place to learn about US history.
Great local history information. Would highly recommend going.
I recommend the Independence Celebration in July, because theres more to do and see and I love all the craftpeople and demonstraters, but its also very nice on its own. Small but very informative.
Quaint historical central focus on 18th century colonial New Hampshire
Great palce to learn about Revolutionary War era history!
Great learning experience.
Great place in history. The tour is excellent.
A true American Treasure! Well worth the visit! A vast amount of knowledge by the staff! I will be back!
The tour guide was not only knowledgeable about New Hampshire history, but about American history. She brought history to life.
Educational and fun.
It is not huge but very informative with very interesting things to see. They have a nice gift shop.
Very well done museum. Recommend getting the guided tour.
Good Italian food and pizza.
Relatively small, but historic museum. Rooms are packed with artifacts, which is a plus, but the information provided is a little on the sparse side.
Everyone needs to tour this museum - after all, there is so much to be proud of in Exeter and the role it played during the formation of our United States!
Only open on the weekend may to October we were disappointed
Super nice staff and cool history!
Fun historical house
Fun fun fun
A MUST SEE PLACE ! Our ancestor Mathew Thornton plotted treason right here
Liberty Bell!
Very educational. Lots of artifacts and guided tour!
This organization needs to learn how to properly display our Flag. Im disappointed that a group such as this is hanging the Flag improperly.
