Beautiful, historical, vessel. Gift shop is Clean, well stocked with items you can purchase as a lasting reminder of your tour of the ship. Kind, friendly staff through out! The new building is very classy and situated with vast views of the ship and the Majestic Ohio River. Outside decks offer greater views in good weather! Keep it up. Great asset to out growing downtown!

First, I must offer a disclaimer because I now Volunteer here... But, my appreciation for all this Vessel represents grows each and every moment I share with her and everyone else I interact with aboard. Be they visitors or currently Members of the Memorial, everyone has contributed so very much to not only myself, but the collective Soul of the Ship which is why she is so Important not only to me, but everyone else that cherishes the precious Freedom we often take for granted.

We are on vacation from Nashville Tn so this a legit last minute visit tour. I’ve never been active in any military service and frankly know noting about it. However this was very informative tour. Our tour guide Paul midle (hope that’s correct) was so cool. He let my 6 year old son help with the tour. It really put a smile on his face.If you haven’t been, just go. Really worth it. Just bring water because it’s warm in the summer months.

Visiting the LST was a great time, and truly fascinating. According to our tour guide, this is the last operational vessel that was part of D-Day-- the sense of real history you get on the tour is tremendous, aided by people who have invested a lot of time and energy in maintaining the ship. That being said, keep in mind that this is a real naval vessel, and it was not built to accomodate persons with difficulty navigating steep stairs, tight spaces, narrow hallways, etc. In summer, the deck gets very hot, and passageways can be like little ovens-- keep this in mind for young kids, older folks, or anyone who may have difficulty in such an environment.

The last known working WWII version LST ships. The tour was given by a WWII navy veteran which was amazing. The ship is active and I went on a working day so it was cool to see the volunteers working on the ship. The tour was a little over an hour and took you all around the ship.

I would have never guessed a ship that stormed Normandy would be here in Indiana. Great tour from someone well versed in the story of the ship. Beautifully restored areas of the ship. Of course it is an old war ship, so be sure to wear decent shoes and it could rather warm or cold on the tour. Best thing is it still works!

I regularly visit WWII ships anytime a city in which I am visiting has one on display. While certainly not the most impressive ship onto which I have ever boarded, the tour guide made the visit most interesting by pointing out many items of interest that one wouldnt see on a self-guided tour. I knew very little about LST ships upon arriving and left with a full understanding of the functionality and history of these craft

This was a great place to visit especially if you live in Evansville. I am so glad we have the LST in Evansville Indiana. Current generations can see what our city contributed to the World War II effort in this great country in which we live! So much of this history is lost on the younger generations as WW II vets pass away. Evansville was the largest industrial contributor per capita in the U.S.

A good deal of walking, small spaces and stairs. Not accessible (yet?) for wheelchair users or other people of limited mobility. Last time I was there they were still sorting out the entrance area and had porta-potties for restrooms.Try to go when its not very busy and the weather isnt bad or you might be waiting in line at times during the tour, sometimes in awkward places like stairs, humid hallways or sunny spots on the deck.Theyve done a great job of restoring it and theres a lot of history to it. Its nice to see a piece of history taken care of in such a way.

Visited LST 325 while she was docked in Pittsburgh over the Labor Day weekend (2015). She is in superb condition and the tour was a delight. The staff/crew were more than eager to explain anything and take the time with you to share details. The vessel does not have air conditioning (except in Officers Country) but they had plenty of floor fans moving the air around in other parts of the ship. There was a nice gift shop with souvenirs and books set up in the main hold forward. Definitely a GREAT tour which will take you about 35 minutes minimum. Highly recommend!

A must see tour if you are in the area. As the last WWII LST and such an important ship class for amphibious landings, this ship is near the top of my list of ships I have visited. The ship is in good order and the staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and gave a solid tour. Tour cost was nominal and free for active duty personnel. Two thumbs up from this retired sailor.

The incredible gentlemen that host this tour are amazing. So polite, attentive, respectful, kind, informative... Ill be here for days describing them. They are SO knowledgeable of this ship and stories about it. They take the time to explain things clearly. No question is too dumb. Never felt rushed. My kids loved it too, ages 9-19. No documentary could provide such a personal experience, especially from such a humble, witty and serving group of men like these!! Excellent time!! I had a blast seeing the USS LST-325 Battle ship. It reminds of the storys my grandpa would tell me when I was little. ALSO I wear a knee brace and a ankle brace that doing the stairs was so hard. 3 of the men that worked on the ship took time to help me, just to make sure I would not fall. Also we had just rained so the deck was very wet, and a gentlemen gave me his arm to help me. I wish it was time for them to come back again. I am going again and taken my kids and my grand kids too.
