The layout of the playground area is unique, it’s a rectangular strip along the edge of the park along Florence Ave, but I think you would be able to see kids in different areas at the same time if you place yourself strategically :) There are a few play structures geared toward taller, climbing children and a smaller play area geared toward shorter people. There are many park benches spread throughout the area and lots of picnic tables.Theres a tire swing, two regular swings and two bucket swings. There are bike racks by the basketball areaAccording to the city’s website: the only location in Evanston that has a lighted basketball court is Mason Park!Basketball: 3 Full Courts and 1 Half CourtTennis: 2 CourtsBaseball/Softball and Soccer/Football: 1 field eachBathroom: Yes!Parking is on the street and can be tough to find because of driveways.

I love to go there and just chill and play some of my sports games. However I would like to find out how to get someone to dump the garbage cans on a regular basis. Theyre usually running out all over around the garbage can.

While having a small park, basketball court, tennis court, and soccer field, it has no public bathroom. Its park is small and a little dirty. It is a good place for outdoor sports in the summer but I wouldnt spend too much time there.

This is VERY close to my favorite playground Penny Park, but Penny is lacking 2-3 things that I really like about Mason Park. Mason is VERY well shaded and a blessing on a hot day second, with less obstructions you can see what your kid is up to at a distance. Lastly since the other park is more popular you will find a more comfortavle amount of children on a day when Penny park might have 50+ kids. I visit here once per every two visits to Penny since I live so close.

The surface is coming off the tennis courts making them unplayable and a fall risk. The hitting wall is fine, but moving more than one step to hit the ball is dangerous.

Nice park, I go there with my two kids, I like it because one of my kids can be at the playground, while the older one can play basketball.
