We went to the first preview of “Grey Gardens” last night at Theo Ubique. Terrific show. Have to admit that I wasn’t sure how good a musical about that topic could be - after seeing the documentary and all - and I was delightfully surprised. Fantastic show - Harmony does an amazing job as Edie, especially in the second act. She is so, so good. Really enjoyed the show.Intimate theater setting. The catered dinner was surprisingly good. Nice cocktail selection. Gender neutral bathrooms. Great theater experience.
After attending many performances at the No Exit Cafe I brought 3out of town guests to Working Sat. Night. Love the new venue and the play was great as always. The dinner was awful. None of my guests ate anything but the dessert. The soup and the meal was not even room temperature and the rice was undercooked. I always had the dinners in the past and I don’t remember being disappointed before. I will not eat there again. I thought you would want to know.Nancy Morel
Theo Ubique is a consistent player. Thoroughly enjoyed Hedwig. We love their old venue, No Exit Cafe. So cozy and quaint. However you cant deny that this new space in Evanston is much more comfortable, for actors and audiences. Staff is so efficient and friendly. Nice bar, plus they serve dinner if youre so inclined
Ambiance, bar selection, and show were great. I honestly didnt expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Good acting and musical talent. Small, comfortable setting.
The Full Monty is excellent, with exceptional talent and music. You will thoroughly enjoy it! Its a great start to a new season and venue.
Very intimate and friendly setting. I much prefer Theo Ubique to some of the bigger venues. Plus you can eat and drink while you watch the show!
Small, intimate Cabret style venue.
Love this dinner cabaret...our 2nd time there. Last year a hole in the wall coffee house with an incredible show Altar Boyz. This year a new venue 5 blocks north, another great show The Full Monty and we had the dinner also. Good meal catered in....I have to mention the house band led by a keyboard man who is as enjoyable and talented as the onstage show.
My first time there and it wassssssss FABULOUS.The show was Unbelievable everyone is so Talented the band was Amazing the food was Spectacular The drinks are very reasonable my whole experience there was Perfect and I will be returning.By the way Fred Anzevino is a Brilliant Director!!!! You must go see a show!!! Dont know what you are missing and when you go ask for Fred Anzevino tell him JoAnn from Rhode Island sent you
Very quaint neighborhood theater. Good performances. Dinner was okay but I would go out to dinner before the show next time.
Good plays, decent food , great service.
A unique, funky, charming cabaret, home to wonderful musical productions, I and going to miss this cramped space when the move to their new place in Evanston next year. Remember you dont go there for the cuisine, but where else do the actors and singers bring you your meal?
Fun, unique theater. We saw Altar Boys. A very professional, high energy performance.
