This review is more about the Rhythm Room bar area than the rest of the theatre (which Ive never had any problems with).We live in Rogers Park, so this is the theatre we would typically go to, since we have a Cinemark Movie Club membership. Most of the movies we see are on the CineArts side, right near the Rhythm Room. The bar area is open to the public, meaning you dont have to buy a ticket to get service there. Everything about the way it is set up indicates that they would like to be a place where you stay a while and order drinks, and not just a place where you can get a drink and take it into your movie. There are wall-mounted TVs, ample seating, billiards, and they even have live bands play on certain nights of the week. The problem is, no matter what night of the week weve been there, whether it was a Tuesday night or a Saturday night, the place gets pretty busy, and they only ever have a maximum of 2 employees running the bar area, usually just one rather rude chubby white guy, about early 30s, with auburn hair.The first few times he was rude, I didnt take it personally, assuming he was just stressed from being shorthanded with so many customers, and I made a point to be extra patient and appreciative. During other visits, however, I started to piece together that he had a problem with me personally, and possibly women in general. I would see him making pleasant conversation with other patrons, all men, and on at least 2 occasions he served my husband, who was sitting right next to me, while completely ignoring me. Im not a demanding customer, and Im not a rude person in general, so I really dont understand what the problem could have been, but it made me uncomfortable enough to not want to return anymore.Theyve been closed for about 6 months now, though, so when they reopen he may not even be there anymore.

Great venue! Lots of options for concessions, bar area with live background music and pool table. Great ambiance not only for movies. Free parking for movie goers across the street!

Comfortable seating, plenty of showings, close to Metra and CTA stops, amazing service. Nothing more you can really ask for from a movie theater. One kind cashier even stopped us from purchasing a mini size popcorn after explaining that the small was simply a better value that we could share.

My favorite cinema. Friendly staff. Super clean. Wide range of movies available. Good prices. Not super crowded. Relatively easy to find street parking nearby.

I saw Harriet Movie at this theater. Definitely recommend this theater. It has clean theaters, comfy seats, and friendly employees.

The movie, 1917, actually rates 4.5. The people around me rated 2. Theaters screen lavish productions discouraging cellphone use while encouraging courteous behavior. WHATS SO COURTEOUS ABOUT EATING SNACKS FROM CRINKLY PACKAGES! WHY THE HELL DO THEATERS SELL SUCH SNACKS. JESUS CHRIST.

Great selection of shows! But seats are very old and not comfortable at all, needs to be updated. Parking is free in Maple public parking building but remember to validate your parking ticket before you leave the theater.

Id give this theater no stars if I could. After spending twenty minutes in line at the concession stand, the girl at the counter wanted to take care of the people in line behind us before she actually served us. It wouldnt have taken her that long to give us the two scoops of icecream we asked for so there was no need to bump us back in line. Sadly, this isnt the first time weve received poor service at this theater. The last few times have been this way. After years of loyal patronage weve decided to take our business elsewhere.

The inside of the theater is quite clean. I love the way they have their snack and popcorn area set up. The seats were comfortable and it was a lovely afternoon with friends

Always enjoy seeing a movie here. I like to take advantage of the Monday and Tuesday discount days. Large screens, comfortable auditoriums, clean restrooms, pleasant staff: whats not to like?

Generally I love this theater, but theyre requiring this new reserved seating thing and I am giving my poor opinion of this here in the hopes that they will rethink it. Its a bad idea. What if I want to switch seats? What if I run into a friend and want to sit with them? The cashier said I would have to walk all the way out to them and change seats. How is this in any way a good idea?

Ticket prices are better at small theaters. Its nice they have a bar and food though. Dont order tickets online because there is a convenience fee. Its cheaper to just buy them at the theater.

It was my local theater. Posters on the wall. Comfortable seats. Nice lobby with concessions. Multiple screens generally offering wide variety, especially indie or art films.A friend tells me it is now reserved seating (which is what I understand the Cinemark in Asheville, NC has).

Why does this movie theater now have reserved seating? Its not fair, I always sit wherever i wanted to.

Normally its a great experience but tonight I had a problem. The validation machines were not working for the parking credit. I didnt receive the four hr free parking People were being deceptive, one person saw that I was a senior and took my ticket to get his car out. I told the attendant but she said i had to pay to get out. Validating becomes an issue and you pay for movie, snacks and parking. Not to mention discount Tuesdays have changed. Not very HAPPY today!

My favorite movie theaters to go to! If you go early on a Tuesday they will give you an early bird discount. I bought 2 adult tickets, my total was going to be around $22 but once they added the early bird discount my total was only $11!!

A+ Clean restrooms, comfortable seats, good service buying ticketsF+ floor by drink machine had huge puddles of water and parking lot signs say free on Sunday...my daughter lost her validated ticket but she had her receipt for ticket from the movie.The woman would not work with her at all and charged her the $16 fee (which is also posted.) SO IS THAT WHAT YOU CALL FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN THE SIGN SAYS Sunday - FREE!!!. I think you can do better with parking & your signs!

The seats were very nice and comfortable. The food was delicious. The sound and the quality of the movie was great.

Great reliable theater that is showing signs of age after nearly twenty years of operation. On the plus side, the parking is free for four hours, popcorn is usually fresh and I haven’t really had a bad experience since coming here in the early 2000’s. Some of the seats are getting worn and you can sometimes feel it. When this joint first opened, the XD theaters were actually just normal theaters that were bigger than the others and the newly opened blockbuster films would play in them before getting downsized to the smaller ones. Someone at corporate saw an opportunity to market those as juiced up cinemas, slap a cool logo on it and charge more to see a film in them. Seating in all cinemas are general admission meaning no reserved seats, meaning there’s a wait in line for a popular movie for a good seat.

The theater is conveniently located near the train station and L stop. There are cheap, medium-priced and high end restaurants all within walking distance. Parking is free in the garage one block away with validation at the theater. Street parking is very limited and not recommended. This is a large theater with multiple screens and showing times. As the title suggests, they can accommodate almost all of the film formats. There is even a full bar located at one end of the second floor. Prices are competitive but not cheap. It is cheaper if you have a discount or go during off hours.

The commercials before the movie are so loud I couldnt have a conversation with my husband. But there are good parking options in the lot nearby! And the bartender was nice.

I guess theater 5 is still considered a good one! The chairs are comfy enough, the picture quality is good, the sound is clear. The space is clean and staffs are hospitable. I watched Parasite and i guess it is really good to watch this kind of movie here. The popcorns are good and come with a big size although it is small. They also have pizza, slushies (cold drinks), and ice creams. The restrooms are clean as well.

The seats are very comfortable and you can also dine in which is very convenient. I highly recommend this place for those movie buffs like myself especially on Tuesdays because they are lot cheaper then. I will definitely go there again.

Reserve seating is a bad idea - period! Why take away our choice of switching seats or waiting to see if there is a mope sitting next to you. I ask the ticket agent how can I tell if the seat I choose at the ticket counter leans back he pointed to a note book next to him saying he can look it up and see if it leans back -WHAT! How about can I find the lean back seats on - line he said no WHAT! But he did say if you want to change seats you can run out of the movie and he would change me to another reserve seat - WHAT!If you feel like your paying more for a movie and getting steered through the process like tagged cattle, you are right.Boycott

Ive been here several times. Its clean, staff is friendly, snack selection is good, and movie selection is good. Its not as pricey as some theaters but a bit more than the cheap-o dirty little theaters.

Go every Tuesday for 5$ movies. Clean, friendly, and easy to get to.

Nice free parking across the building. Wish they wouldnt charge for online bookings. They also lack the full recliners with leg support like other cinemas, I wish they would add those along with seat assignments. Other than those, clean movie house with quality picture and sound.

I love this theatre. When I lived in Chicago I would visit all the time. It’s a quick train ride from the city if you want to avoid downtown and Evanston has something to offer everyone. It’s quaint and special. This theatre is always nice and clean with the friendliest Of staff. I never had an issue there!

Good place. All that carpet in the entrance and doorway make it look very old but the screens are nice. Sound system is good as well. Seats are average. There is 4 hour parking validation available when parked in public parking infront of the complex.

Its a good place, but Im not sure if it was the manager who told me and my friends to get out if we arent going to watch a movie. Personally i get where he was coming from but we recently got out from watching a movie and were waiting for our parents and i was pregnant at the time, I really didnt appreciate it.

Seats are old school; cant pick seats; some rows in theatre 12 seats dont recline at all. Seems in need of some tlc. But the staff are all awesome

Sometimes, seeing a movie you like will instantly sell you on the quality of a multiplex. That was the case with _Ready Player One_, which I saw (appropriately enough) with a group of fellow SF fans. The theater was spacious and comfortable, the cocktail I got at the bar actually succeeded in numbing my cough and cold-wracked throat, and most importantly, it was fun.

Though the monthly movie pass like subscription is not as good as AMC still a great experience.

Good location,great screen, great movie experience - However, I was offered popcorn with butter when asked specifically without butter. Cashier told me it doesnt have when it clearly did. The entire food court is not vegan friendly. Also one person was in the cashier and a long line to pay, what a waste of time. Find better ways to collect money. Also, the seat was not so comfortable I think it was broken.

A great spot to catch a movie in Evanston. They usually have a decent selection of movies and times, although it would be nice if they had more late night show times.There’s a connected bar with live Jazz music, and a few other places may be open if not too late. Across the street from the CTA and Metra Davis stop, which is also nice so ya don’t have to deal with parking and tickets. There is a parking lot north of the theater.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The theaters are always clean. There has never been a problem with projection. We love to see movies here.

If you live in Chicago anywhere north of Uptown this should be the movie theater you go to. It’s clean, has great restaurants surrounding it. I have seen almost every major blockbuster for the last 2 years here and it’s almost never been overcrowded

Its nice and clean place. It has variety of movies to watch . The problem is the parking its not free you have to pay for the movie and the parking.

I like this thereafter the most. You can always get hot fresh popcorn unlike the theater in Skokie. The refill on popcorn are cool if youre treating yourselves and watching a great film. Theres parking validation depending on the garage and or parking is pretty inexpensive in this area. Youll be fine!

It is an ok movie theater, but it is still stuck in 2012, when it was leading edge. Seats are fine, sound and movie watching experience all acceptable.Huge negatives to the wandering teenagers who float from one theater to another to watch free movies.With reserved seating available at most movie theaters, I drive past this one to go to Old Orchard, which is far superior. I am uncertain why Cinemark is so resistant to upgrading. It just enables the wandering teens.

This is typically our go-to movie theatre. The ticket prices are decent considering we are in Chicagoland. The workers are overall pretty friendly and the popcorn is fresh, though it costs an arm and a leg like most other theatres. You can park for free in the adjacent garage with validation which is a bonus!

A good movie theater to watch new releases or old classics. Usually pretty clean and conveniently located across the parking garage that has up to four hour validation. There are definitely nicer theaters that have comfier seats, but other than that its a great movie experience.

Nice modern movie theater, comfortable seats. So so as far as food options went, there wasnt much other than the standard popcorn, movie snacks, pizza, fries, or chicken tenders (cmon, impress me with sushi, falafel wraps, salad... something! lol) But for adults, there was a full bar that was pretty big, serving beverages for those above 21. ;-)

Fairly average theater. Not the cleanest theater but it has your typical showtimes and appropriate movie ticket prices. Thr seats could be better not youre not paying premium for reclining sofa couches here. Good location in the heart of Evanston by the trains.

Everything was amazing. Except for the young girl who was the ticket agent with short natural curly hair had a stank attitude. Very sarcastic attitude. I understand her job was tiresome but this is the work she chose. Change your attitude when it comes to the customers. She is the reason I couldnt give 5 stars. Work on the attitude.

Theater is huge. Seating is like sitting in a recliner. Absolutely fantastic.

Great theater but its going to hit you in the pockets. Make sure you have some money. You can bring liquor if you pay extra, or have a small pint in your shirt or something. You will figure it out if its that important. It place is huge and clean. I didnt see and gang members or thugs, so thats a plus. No unnecessary toughness either. I could enjoy my movie and snacks in peace.

So, to begin, when you see a movie here, remember to park in the garage and get your parking ticket validated, (I believe it is validated for four hours). The theatre is upstairs, but they have an escalator and elevator if stairs arent your thing. Tickets are easy to purchase and the theatres have comfy, rocking seats. There is also a full service bar, and a few way better than average concession stands, in a couple spots, in case one is super busy and you are running late.And, there is a World Market Store, restaurant-Chilis ?, and Blick art store right outside. They have movies you cant see just anywhere too. One of my favorite places ️

I rarely attend the movie theater unless a special film of my interests is released. For example Star Trek Star Wars Super Hero film or a baseball movie. When this moment in time occurs I choose this wonderful movie theater to view my genre in film. The staff at the ticket windows are exceptional and most have viewed the film I wish to see and are able to give a fair and accurate review and account of the movie. Most of them are leaps and bounds better than the so called media experts. The food concessions are clean well lit and always smell of hot buttered pop corn and delicious fountain soft drinks. The food staff are amazingly brilliant and quick the absolute best in the business. The theater itself had plenty of screens with the best sound and visual quality. The restrooms are exceptional and always sanitary. Attend!!!!#!
