I came here tonight to see A Christmas Carol, and had a really great time. The players seemed to be worried that it would be the last show, and are trying to raise $30,000 to prevent from shutting down for good. I really hope they meet their goal! Ive lived in Eustis for several years now, and I wish Id went to a show sooner because I was really impressed with the talent and how professional they are! The theater takes Covid very seriously, and takes all precautions to prevent exposure. Everyone has to wear masks (including cast) , seats are spread far apart and everyone has to get their temperature taken upon arrival.Definitely recommend if you want to see a great show

Always something exciting going on! Recently in addition to being Patrons we have become volunteers. The theater building is coming up on it’s 100th anniversary and there is so much to do to restore and refurbish the theatre! Volunteers play a big “part” and all “talents” and skills are welcome!

Last nights opening performance of Sister Act was thoroughly enjoyed by me and my grandson!! We laughed and smiled the whole time. From the time you walk through the door, the experience made us feel so welcome and part of a community!! You have to see this play!! The acting abilities of all involved is a must see, especially the high school and college students!!

Thanks to the Bay Street Players for putting on one of the most entertaining shows Ive ever seen. Once in the theatre you become the audience for a 1940s radio show presentation of Its A Wonderful Life. The cast was great with the narrator and the actor presenting the character George giving outstanding performances. Shut your eyes and you could swear Jimmy Stewart was on stage. So moving was his performance, he brought me to tears at the climax of the play. The theater is 100 years old. The decor has been preserved, you can see the old stage opening where vaudeville acts were performed. The balcony has been taken over by the many stage lights and engineers booth. The whole experience was incredible.I HIGHLY recommend this show for an evening of entertainment. I know my wife and I will be coming back. This was the first live performance our grandson has ever seen --- hes HOOKED!Thank you for a delightful evening.George Bell

We had so much fun at the performance of “Sister Act” We enjoyed the music, and singing! The “gangsters” were hilarious with the “Nuns” not far behind! The Theater itself was quaint andhas an amazing history and the people there were so pleasant we will be joining as volunteers! Who knows.... you might even find us on stage!

We went to see the production of Footloose. It was a very enjoyable way to spend an evening. The entire cast put heart and soul into their performances and since most, if not all, were volunteers then you knew you were watching people who loved what they were doing. We will go back for other performances!

This was a young peoples production of SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK LIVE, Jr. It was DELIGHTFUL! WELL DONE! EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING! Yes, I have some bias as my granddaughter was in the production, but as a trained musician with some theater experience, I found it very well done, indeed. The best of the ones I have seen, so far.

The acting was great along with the costumes and set design. The singing was ok, but the lack of sufficient air conditioning made it just shy of unbearable to watch. It was the last day of Sister Act and I just wish it had been cooler in the theater.

This was an adaption of the age old favorite The Christmas Story. The lead character who played George Bailey was animated and entertaining. The rest of the players read from the script with little or no emotion. Not even mildly entertaining. Dont waste your money and time.

Nice little 214 seat theater. Really well done for a small town troupe. We really enjoyed Spamalot, they have some talented actors. You can buy the whole season of 5 shows, starting in September, for $85 per seat. They have several very affordable packages and like I mentioned theres not a bad seat in the house.

I am almost embarrassed to admit I have only attended one performance at the Bay Street Players since moving here about 4 years ago. We went to see The Producers. The performers were wonderful, even though the material seemed dated to me. I love Mel Brooks movies, but did this play really win all of those Tony awards? I guess it was edgy back when it played on Broadway. So I will happily go see more performances at the Bay Street Players, and maybe even get a season ticket.

Great theatre, great district, great ambiance, not a bad seat in the house, great parking... however ... the WORST smelling restrooms I have EVER encountered that LOFTED INTO THE ENTIRE LOBBY AREA. It was very obviously an on going plumbing issue, and not just an isolated incident. Very unfortunate. I’m sure they do not have the budget to fix it. It SMELLED “expensive” to fix... I don’t know how I know that, I just do!

Excellent shows and this review has nothing to do with any of the talent in the shows its the theater its self. I went to see the producers and was told the A.C. was broken it was over 85 degrees in the theater. I thought thats really unfortunate went to see it a week later. It was warmer than usual but not as hot as before. At intermision I happebed to find the thermostat (behind one of the clear lock boxes) was SET AT 80! Now when your shows are at about 90% capacity every night, they beg for donations at the beginning of the show and then lie about the A.C. and dont even turn it on. I have a real problem with that. At this level of theater everyone putting on the play does it for free the theaters only cost is overhead (rent, electric and THE A.C.). I refuse to go back there for being lied to and for such a stupid reason to not have A.C. in the middle of July in florida. Unbelievable! How the actors and actresses did the show in that heat is absolutely unbelievable to me.
