During my visit, this stunning mansion was booked for a wedding, so I wasnt able to see the inside. But the outside is wonderful enough to stare and get some amazing photos.Sister house is the pink lady, she is across the street from Carson mansion and just as stunning as her brother.

This place is a tease. So beautiful and made to sound like this wonderful place to visit. Its touted as one of the most historical places in Eureka but you only get to appreciate it from outside the iron fence. You have to be a member or invited by a member. That was disappointing. Id love to see them offer limited tours at least. I feel like their hoarding history.

Famous family sold the Mansion to various Eureka Civic Leaders who formed a Private Club.(1950s) Sunday night - family night - after diinner, kids climbed the many stairs to the Widows Watch to pretend to play pool. The Stained glass windows are breathtaking - as are each room - and the exquisite woodwork - done by master carpenters with the finest wood.

The Carson Mansion is a large Victorian house located in Old Town, Eureka, California. Regarded as one of the highest executions of American Queen Anne Style architecture, 33 the house is considered the most grand Victorian home in America. It is one of the most written about and photographed Victorian houses in California and perhaps also in the United States. Originally the home of William Carson, one of Northern Californias first major lumber barons, it has been a private club since 1950. The house and grounds are not open to the public.

The Ingomar Club - aka Carson Mansion - is Eurekas finest home/private club/building.In 1950, a group of Eureka business men bought the Carson Home and made it into a private club.Lucky are we who have been invited to dinner, weddings, parties and events. One of a kind - spectacular interior and grounds. At one time, the thriving Ingomar was the place to go for Sunday dinner. Members flocked...memories made.

I had my class reunion here. As a kid I always looked longingly at it from the fence, and now I finally got to go inside! It is a Victorian style house. The inside is still decorated in the 19th century fashion. People say it is haunted. I didnt feel anything, but in one of the front rooms there are two pictures of children which are extremely creepy looking and gave me goosebumps! The staff was very competent and friendly.

It certainly a beautiful home. However you should know it is a private members only club, and not something you can go inside to check out. You can however rent it out for weddings and events. There is an online tour of the house at ingomar.org. The house is every bit as elaborate inside as it is outside. Well worth a look.

The Carson Mansion/Ingomar Club is a Private Club. It is not a History Museum. It was originally the private home of the famed Carson Family. In the 1950s, a group of Eureka businessmen gathered and developed the premises into a private Mens Club. On Sundays, members families dined in the large dining room. Bored children were known to skip dessert so they could climb to the highest reaches of the house - the Widows Outlook where a pool table existed, too. Tmes have changed. The very first female member was Eurekan, Patsy Smullin - California Oregon Broadcasting.. It is said to be the most photographed home in the United States

A true architectural gem! The house has survived and been cared for through the efforts of the Ingomar Club. There are no public tours, but sometimes members will give private tours. Also, the mansion is sometimes used as a venue for private events, and guests can see part of the home where the event is held.
