Plenty of space. The water is shallow. You really cant swim but floating or little kids are perfect here.The lake is a phenomenal place to paddle around and see wildlife. Beware the gas boats. Not super careful around us non gas boaters

Pretty big space to play etc.. you can of course swim ( there are designated area roped of for the younger ones) the water is pretty shallow too so easier for the little ones. Theres also a sand volleyball court and plenty of open grass areas.. and a free small bbqs for your picnics . Social distancing seemed doable too just stay proactive.. enjoy

Seems like everyone is here in the weekends. I prefer Honeyman Park as the sandy bottom lake is easier on the feet, but it was very baby and child friendly out here anyway and closer to home in the Barger area. Lots of shady areas under trees which was so nice. Only food near here is the mini mart and they don’t have much at all so pack before you go!

Very beautiful spot at fern ridge lake! There is a Volleyball net, park, picnic tables, built in bbqs to use, bathrooms and a great view of the sailboats

In general Fern Ridge could be made better by bringing in sand and simply updating and cleaning. Would be nice to know there werent a possibility of glass in the water. Its a good idea to have your kiddos wear shoes just in case.

Quiet place to be near the water in late Summer and early Fall.This place is aging, but it is clean and safe.

It stunk and I dont recommend it. Being new to the area, I didnt know that. Apparently it is common knowledge to the locals!

Perfect for teaching kiddoes to swim. Very gradual slope into the water from the beach. Shade not too far from the water too.

We have a great time whenever we go here. The water is more clear on this side, and the temp is perfect for young kids.

Great place to relax! Rent the kayaks, boats, or paddle boards for an amazing day. Scott was a pleasure and very helpful.

This place is looking great this year. Not over crowded and well maintained. Its a little steep getting into the water but other wise we had a great time

Nice place to cool off on a hot day. Large park, lots of space, good place for a picnic. It dose have a lot of picnic tables. You can sit in the shade or sun. Would definitely go back again.

We had a great experience here for the 4th of July! An amazing place for the whole family and the Park Rangers are very flexible

Beautifully area. But had not been tended to. All the BBQs havent been fixed. Probably at least 10 of them are smashed and not attended to.

Dont go here to go kayaking. The water stinks like sewage

This is a great park with lots of open space & tons of picnic areas. Lake access for swimming & boating. Pet friendly. BBQ Grills, water fountains, bathrooms, & tons of parking. Even the Bees were friendly .

Scenically one of the best places to visit on the Fern Ridge Reservoir, in my humble opinion. Lots of interesting little nooks and crannies and the hill... very popular as a boat ramp, less popular as a destination, better if you like to avoid the crowd.

Love this park! Great for taking your kids and dogs. Make sure you bring doggy bags though.. there arent any at the park.

There is a beach for kids to play in the water that is roped off. There are tables and bathrooms. Beautiful view of the lake and boats coming and going. Not many people there during the week.

Awesome fun if you have some sort of water craft and dont mind muddy water.

Past its heyday, Id love to see the park revamped.

Gate still open, but concession stand closed. Water too low for swimming or boating. Small, but nice, playground. Nice area for people and/or dog walking. Beautiful scenery, peaceful place to relax.

Great place to go for a wide variety of outdoor activities. You can swim, kayak, BBQ/picnic, kids playground, soccer, etc.. Even on a Sunday in July there was plenty of parking and finding a good spot to hang out for the day took no time. Overall a very convenient, scenic and pleasant place with a very friendly atmosphere. Would give it 5 stars if the parking was free.

Loved it! Marina with nice boats, lots of sailing here and swimming area/restrooms.

Great place to take the boat for a spin

Marina crew is top notch. The winds are steady and directional. The jetty provides protection from the white caps on the lake when the wind really blows. Very reasonable rates. Only wish they had shower facilities.

Easy to dock your and easy to park.but its the most popular spot for the state patrol to troll honest people just trying to have a good time. If you go to the far south side of the lake youll have the best chance of avoiding the pigs.

Can be busy. But water was very low this year.

Great place to take your dog to exercise them when no one is around.... during winter, theres NO ONE out there! LOVE IT!!!!!!

Orchard point park is a great park! I take my dogs there and walk them a couple times a week, it would be nice if other dog owners would pick up after their dogs , and keep them on a leash like Oregon state law requires.

Not much happening this time of year. If you gotta beat it has great marina services.

One of the prettiest parks in the area right on the edge of Fern ridge lake and next to the marina. Lots of room, playground picnic areas and group areas to reserve along with a swimming beach. The only drawback is that Fern ridge lake does not have the highest quality water, it can actually be kind of gross

Such a nice park and the hosts are gracious and NOT nosy! This is very nice because lately a lot of park hosts make you feel like a criminal for even daring to enter their parks. I love OPR its one of the best places on Fern Ridge. Definitely better than Richardson Park.

Rented a sailboat from Scott, nicest gentleman. Spent 7 hours sailing the lake. Didnt use the boat ramp.

Nice place to be with the family. Camping tablea, grills plus you can rent boats to be in the lake. Clean place.

So pretty and we really like that there is a play structure!

Great place for family. The kids were able to swim in designated area. Unfortunately the people using paddle boats were not as cautious going through the swim area and swimmers had to be alert to not get hit by a boat or paddle.

Great park, now if they only could teach people how to load and unload their boats.

Beautiful place to visit. The people there are so friendly and welcoming. The whole visit was well worth the drive.

Oregon coast. Always amazing in any weather, but when its mild, its paradise.

Great dock for boats or seals

The boat ramp itself was not very crowded and was very easy to launch the boat here. I think this reservoir is a lot better for sail boats than motor boats; I think that the lack of foliage or obstructions from the shore allows the wind to come straight across the water. The water was extremely murky and choppy. It may have just been a windy day, but Id prefer to drive further to find some water outside of the city and amongst the trees and nature.

Beautiful lake and the park is so pastoral with big shade trees & grassy lawn. The swimming beach is paved so its nice & clean. Great area to relax with your family (playground, picnic tables, bathrooms close) Affordable boat & paddle board rental, large roped off swimming area.Remember: bring $4 cash for the county fee.

Need better kayak access.

Great place especially in Summer. Huge area for families, picknicking, activities, swimming, or just laying around getting a tan, Dog friendly, pubic restrooms.
