We were so surprised to find the Shorter Mansion not open at all, due to covid! In preparation for our trip, had read info about this beautiful old home from several different websites, and none of them had been updated to say it was closed. We spoke to a gentleman working in the yard, who said he didnt know when it would open again, so call before you go!

I was the only person at the mansion when I arrived, so I basically had a private tour. I was guided on the bottom floor, but the second floor was self-guided. The only thing that could improve the experience would be a pamphlet with printed information, because I cant remember everything they told me. I enjoyed the visit very much! Beautiful mansion with lots of history.

What an absolutely beautiful mansion restored to its original splendor. The tour was exceptional and the idea that this was called home years ago is just amazing. A wonderful piece of history well worth seeing...its a walk in the past.

This little town is so beautiful. The homes and people are just lovely. The lady who greeted us at the entrance of shorter mansion was very knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of old goodies to look at also. The detail in this home is amazing. Definitely worth visiting, we will be back to visit some more homes.

Eufaula is a must see for anyone. Lots of antebellum homes with a wonderful history of how the were spared burning. If your an rvr you might want to drop unhitch as many streets are challenging. Shorter mansion is not only a beautiful structure, but also a trove of artifacts

Intersting older mansion. Unfortunately the guide left us after about half the tour to go get a haircut. And, we were in Natchez touring the antebellum homes there the week before. The homes and guides in Eufala just arent in the same league as those in Natchez. Also, we drove to Eufala from Chipley, FL. There are about Eight times as many stoplights going around Dothan and on to Eufala as necessary. Its a frustrating trip.If you happen to be in Eufala for some other reason you might want to see a couple of the mansions. Id never drive there again to see the mansions.Dont go?
