Amazing swim / spa facility, probably the nicest pool in any YMCA anywhere. 12 or so lanes, no-wave gutters and plenty of deck space and also a kid play area. There are spas, saunas and spacious locker rooms. I am just visiting from San Jose but I hear the rest of the facility is topnotch. Its also right off the 5. You who live near here are so lucky.

Love swimming laps in their 11-lane pool. I avoid the busier times so getting a lane is not a problem. After laps, I enjoy a little time in the whirlpool and then the sauna. Thanks to the staff! Patrick Redmond of DRT Dynamic Resilience Training aka Red Mountain Evolved Pilates

My fiancé is a travel nurse so we’ve been to YMCAs all over the country. This is my favorite that I’ve been too. The child watch staff is amazing. The facility is clean. The swim coaches are very knowledgeable and teach well. Couldn’t give higher praise.

Ive been to gyms all over the world, and this is one of my absolute favourite places to work out. Down-to-earth, friendly staff, a mixture of people who train there and a decent array of equipment - all with zero pretension. Love it.

The arena soccer is poorly ran. From bad referees who favorite other teams. One of the referees personally attacked my father by defaming his character to his new family in law who runs other leagues in Carlsbad. Management itself discriminated my players and myself I don’t recommend playing there I’d rather play in Escondido

This is one of the best YMCA’s in the US, the biggest one on the West Coast by far. The staff here is super nice and the facility is first rate. Probably one of the nicest places I have ever been as a gym and community center

The facility is clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. They do not, however, enforce etiquette. The hoi polloi sit on the weight machines to complete their sets rather than letting others work in. Some even text between sets. Many bang the equipment--not an informed bunch.

I’ve been a member for over 4 years now and can say that I cherish my time at the ymca. I get a great work out. The staff and instructors are nice and accommodating. I’ve read some negative reviews on here and can say that I’m saddened by them. Really if you are following the rules there is no reason for a bad review. Your workout is what you make of it. Life is so full of drama that I enjoy coming to the gym to work out and getting in a good sweat or a calming yoga/ stretch class. There can only be drama if you create it. So if you are reading this please give the ymca a chance. Really servicing that many people each day you aren’t going to please everyone. Fortunately, my experience has been life changing for me here. I thank all staff and instructors for the hard work and time that they give us.

Interior design is dated. Painted brick walls give an institutional feel. The cardio rooms and yoga rooms and even the gym are all very dark and cave like. As is the upstairs spin room. The basketball courts are nice. As is the pool. The buildings don’t have enough windows to let in natural light. This is an architectural flaw. As the building isn’t positioned or designed to take advantage of the natural geographic features of its location either. The ocean views and skylines are missing. The facility should be renovated in several phases to update the dated architecture and interiors. The staff is very friendly and helpful A plus. The vibe is easy going and family focused The ages range from seniors to preschool.

I give one star for the classes which were great. I took Zumba and gentle yoga Monday evening, and both instructors were amazing .It was my first time attending this location . I will not be returning due to the little to non existing help I received with calling in to ask for help on a lost item . Front desk said nobody could help me and “ You’re going to have to come back and find it yourself”. I then proceeded to explain the that if I lived closer last night I would’ve driven back to look for it myself , but I live a distance away north and it would’ve been a hassle for my preschooler and I . Hope with this review they create an efficient and helpful way to handle lost and found calls to members. Will choose service at my local Y . At least they have been able to politely help me with past lost and found items.

Great staff, service, equipment , and value.I switched to the YMCA after a corporate gym continued to raise my dues each year, making it harder to afford. I started at the Y in Mission Valley, which was small, but still great, but after moving I found myself without a gym membership for some time. Eventually, I found Ecke Family YMCA and started going here. This is not the top of the line cutting edge gym, but I got a secret for you its a heck of a lot better than the majority of corporate gyms out there and it costs much less as well. Newer and clean equipment make it an ideal environment for focusing on your health. An added bonus? Because the Y is family friendly, it is much less focused on the workout floor being a performance stage for the Look at me clientele whos workout grunts and yells can be heard for miles away from every corporate gym in America. So you like classes, let me tell you about classes! There are tons of classes at this Y, im not joking I have never been to a gym with the number of classes they have each hour, its insane. I have only been going to the Ecke Family Y for a short period of time, but I am beyond impressed. If you are someone who is interested in getting your health and wellness on track at a place with a friendly staff, a clean environment, and at an affordable price. You have found your new gym.

Dont come here unless you want to be treated like a criminal! Also dont come here if you have young kids! Its $69 for one adult plus kids in order to use their free childcare. But they will call you to come get your baby if she cries for longer than 10 minutes. God forbid your baby cry when they are in an unfamiliar setting! Youre only going to go to the gym at most a few times a week so itll take a long time before your baby will be comfortable enough to not cry. Also, the daycare closes for cleaning at 2pm for an hour or two so no working out then either.Dont take your kids swimming here either. If there are any swim lessons going on at all, they will not let you be in the pool. Even if the lesson takes place in the shallow end and you are in the deep end nowhere near the other people. The shower area for kids is the worst part. Its immediately inside the entrance to the pool with NO curtains whatsoever. Anyone and everyone will see you and your kids showering. Also its freezing in there everytime someone opens the door to the outside. The worst part is the showers have no water pressure whatsoever and are lukewarm. Imagine taking 45 mins trying to rinse the shampoo and conditioner off yourself, a baby girl and toddler girl in lukewarm water thats barely trickling out while men are walking in and out on a cold rainy day.So the next time I took my daughters to the womens shower. No one had told me nor did I see signs that children are PROHIBITED from the womens showers. In the middle of showering, an employee came and told us we couldnt shower there. I told them the kids showers have no water pressure and my kids were getting cold over there, that we were in the middle of showering, can we just finish showering? A second employee comes over and said You can go home and shower. !!!!! Meanwhile, my 3 year old is asking mommy why do we have to leave and theres still soap in my hair! The first employee is STILL STANDING RIGHT BESIDE US MAKING SURE WE LEAVE like criminals getting escorted out of a store!

I am so very satisfied with all that this YMCA offers! When my children were younger, they both attended the quality preschool program. They had good experiences with youth sports, as well. Now, we all enjoy the huge variety of classes and workout equipment for a fraction of the cost of a four-person membership elsewhere.! The atmosphere always has a positive vibe for us, and we are thankful for the gift of having such a great facility in our community!

I witnessed this morning - the ymca staff harassing judging poor members here who are fire victims, paid members who leave their car parked overnight to go to work and come in morning to work out walk the tracks outside. They called the police on my friends 2 times in the same day, without speaking to my friends about some assumed problem they claimed my friends did, and they did nothing wrong at all. I have known Raj and Samia for 3 months, met them at the ymca and have helped them. They have helped so many, is great to know them. I usually do not give reviews, but they harmed Samia Raj and they are verified red cross fire victims, who got hurt by the ymca corporate staff. I thought the y was about good christian principles and trained their staff to be god like. Very disappointed to see hear that the ymca staff are making poor judgments of assumption by, terrorizing good christians like raj and samia. We heard the YMCA EMPLOYEES re recording of events. Just because you can not see into somebodies home, temple, and/or van that is private protected property, so no PEEPING TOMS CAN STEAL OR PEEP INSIDE- is nothing suspicious about that its called being responsible for own public private safety.and for 3 months. This assumption problem YMCA has created a mistake on false reporting, manipulating the public to believe that is suspicious van, only because a YMCA EMPLOYEE CAN NOT SEE IN, WHY DID HE APPROACH a peaceful temple to look to see if he could peep n tom inside a home, its recorded YMCA did approach van, could not see in it, YMCA CANT SEE IN VAN AND THAT SUSPICIOUS- YET YMCA APPROACHES VAN AND NOW CLAIMS THE VAN IS SUSPICIOUS BECAUSE YMCA CAN NOT SEE IN IT? YMCA claimed that not seeing someone come out of van in morning, while they are involved in a carpool, is suspicious? Why not putting a harmless note on the vehicle to speak to whose church temple private aka VAN, your member Samia, your boss, that you wanted to know more about them? You recorded to Samia, that is no problem parking overnight, to keep Samia temple safe and no break ins. You said 24 hour parking is o.k. and to make sure Samia moves her van every 24 hours. Why call police, when Samia calmly was trying to solve that YMCA RECORDED she could carpool park overnight as a member- it is not on any agreement that I have, that states YMCA CORPORATION IS AGAINST OVERNIGHT PARKING TO SAVE THE PLANET AND CARPOOL. YMCA RECORDED: that there is no PUBLIC OR MEMBER NOTICE THAT STATES OVER NIGHT PARKING IS PROHIBITED, NOR THAT a car home is suspicious if YMCA PEEPING TOMS - are not able to see inside a car. YMCA RECORDED: their policy code call police on members, when members are asking YMCA to show them proof of the claims they make against members. Is it against YMCA POLICY TO REPORT HARM MADE TO YMCA MEMBERS, BY YMCA EMPLOYEES? NO NOTICE ANYWHERE ON ANY AGREEMENTS OF NO OVERNIGHT PARKING, NOR A PUBLIC NOTICE THAT YMCA IS ANTI CARPOOL AND ANTI OVERNIGHT PARKING ITS NOT POSTED. NOR THAT VISITING FRIENDS FAMILY AND MEMBERS AT YMCA IS LOITERING. Us private YMCA members have noticed, hypocritical, manipulation of reporting recordings to Samia, the Police, other YMCA members/employees. Breaking the 10 commandments, to protect a certain TITLE OF A DIRECTOR/IDOLS OF YMCA: IS ONLY ONE EMPLOYEE OF devilish actions, harming members, PUBLICLY HARMING YMCA CORPORATION AS AN MASKED IDOL FALSE WITNESS GEOFF MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR now it is publicly recorded noticed as YMCA copyright patent SM TM potomac declaration infringement of protected intellectual property registered artworks Samia holds dear her religious beliefs, of reporting devilish masked YMCA DIRECTOR INFRINGEMENT SLAVERY- forced by YMCA EMPLOYEE upon peaceful Samia. We will pay the lawyers fees to expose this publicly.GEOFF, just because a memner asks you to prove your claims you made RECORDING as false against her- does not give you authority to harrass a little girl and call tue cops because you lied about a member Samia.

Management makes assuming judgmental false claims controversies if you dont drive an expensive car against paying members. They call the cops to handle their management issues problems. Unbelievable a Christian organization harrasses terrorising its members with cops.We notice they hide reviews: YMCA digital signature noticed they intentionally hide reviews they noticed public notice reviews by j witness YMCA is in accepting public contract.

I WILL NOT VISIT THIS DUCKING PLACE EVER AGAIN! The staff members kept forcing me to talk when I was a boy. I will yell at their faces when they talk to me. I won’t bother applying for membership. I won’t bother seeking employment there either. All I want is an indefinite distance from this establishment.I want no association with YMCA. I decided to ban this organisation permanently, or until YMCA becomes defunct.

My how things have changed over the years. I remember coming here 20 years ago. Before the skate park/ramps, before the preschool, before the soccer fields and the south entrance/lot or before the north ones expansion. It was 2 indoor pools, 1 lap and 1 diving with a high dive and concrete locker rooms. Id come back every few years and see a new building, a new feature until I started coming here for co-ed soccer, which is great fun. Ill always remember taking swimming lessons here and honestly will probably take my kids here. Its a staple in the entire North County Community and despite the fact its a YMCA its, clean, bright and exactly what a YMCA is supposed to be unlike what you heard from that awful song.

It is great the Encinitas YMCA has indoor adult womens soccer leagues, but only two referees ensure that the rules are adhered to. Many players have experienced injuries, most due to fouls and plays that are too aggressive. Complaints have been heard, but not addressed. Unfortunately, many players that are passionate about playing good and competitive soccer have left Encinitas YMCA. Many of those currently playing are talking about leaving since they want to have fun, but not get hurt.
