There trails are nicely constructed - some winding around so that you can see more of the forest. Enjoy the canopy of the old growth trees and dense underbrush lower on the mountain. Watch that trail intersections are not well marked so watch your distances and have a photo of the map before heading out on the trail.
Great place for challenging walking trails, not your usual level surface. Has a few different length trails to fit your preference, wonderful scenery, like being close to nature. Definitely be there again shortly!
Really nice area considering how close it is to civilization. Some neat structures and photo points. No real vista, but plenty of greenery!
I like the Wilderness trail for many reasons, one of them being that it is wilderness and has a totally calming and quiet effect on me from the minute I enter its green haven! A second reason is because the biodiversity is incredible, and on a hot and humid day, I pretend I am in a rainforest, stopping to close my eyes to listen to the woodpeckers peck high above me or the bugs zooming by me. I also use my Seek app to identify plants and other living organisms on this trail because there is such a plethora residing here - a junior scientists natural laboratory! This trail is super easy, mildly inclined and about 90% compacted earth. The remaining 10% would be small rocks and logs. Theres a small meadow, several old quarry ponds from which you should not drink, plenty of black raspberries (seasonal) to keep your kids mouths busy chewing instead of screaming and the path is well used by many a dog and deer.Take plenty of water and wipes with you when hiking as there are no clean water sources or potties on this trail. If you packed it in, pack it out. These trails are very clean; lets keep it that way. This trail starts at Ithaca Park, crosses over a short open area called the Powerline and connects to the Orange Trail AKA the Alpine Street Trail about .5 of a mile inland. It is not a loop, but out and back will clock you roughly a mile if you are looking for an easy peasy Sunday stroll.
This is a great little forested area with some nice trails! Really beautiful walk. Cool rock features that are good for bouldering.
No bathroom but the trails were my favorite kind, like being lost in the woods on an outdoor adventure hike. Amazing at 6am. For about 15 minutes and then there were people.here at 6pm again after work and its overcrowded. I wouldnt expect this place to ever be just empty and peaceful. Unfortunately.
Nice sets of trails, smaller parking lots that can get busy on weekends, but you can spread out quickly on the trails. Keep aware of mountain bikers on the trails if you are hiking, as the trails are popular with both hikers and bikers. The orange trail is good for families... Blue and red trails break off of orange trail further up the mountain and offer some nice travels through the woods and smaller sized boulder fields.
I go here all. the time with my dogs great trails, great place to exercise, can take an hour or more depending on what trails you doI usually do a combo of two at a time. Everything is well marked so you dont get lost at all, just a little muddy sometimes because it is near a natural spring.
Great hiking. Took company with us and they loved it.
Big beautiful place with nature at its best.
Definitely a pleasant place to be and clear your head while enjoying nature in your own backyard.
Beautiful beautiful hike with a number of different trails and paths. Absolutely love it and you can make it pretty much any amount of time you want. Great workout too!
Please was great well kept trails. Well marked will be visiting again cant wait to see how photos came out
Trails can get a little busy, but quieter the further you get from the trailhead.
Awesome trails! Technical and flowing. Love running and biking them!
This place is clean and beautiful. I had a lot of fun. Only map I saw was at the entrance so make sure to take a picture of it or download the app on the phone. Apart from that is a nice fun experience. Drink lots of water and follow the trail. If lost, people are friendly enough to help you.
Great place to take my daughter for her first hike at almost 2!
Grew up in those woods. Climbing on eagle rock. Cutting vines off an swinging on them. Beautiful piece of land. The dogs love it as much as me.
So beautiful
Nice trails, scenic hikes that arent too difficult.
Very nice and tranquil, easy hike, good vibes
Verdant, smells beautiful, and is full of small streams
Beautiful park for running, walk and training.
Good hike but you can easily get lost. The signs for the trails arent always easy to spot and there are several trails. Be careful not to get on the HUNTING trail. I ended up getting lost but my god on my phone got me back to where I needed to be. Not my favorite but definitely a hiking spot. Might see some deer as well. Be careful when you do.... make sure your not on the HUNTING trail in hunting season wearing the wrong colors!!! Lol. Defintley leave your reindeer suit at home.
It quiet, peaceful and full of surprises️ Keep your eyes peeled️
Absolutely love this place. Great place to take your family for a hike.
Great place to hike if youre looking for something with longer trails. Very pretty place
Beautiful place, offers both easy and more challenging trails for families. Dogs allowed!
It had beautiful scenery I even saw a deer 5 feet from me.
Great for a short hike. 40 degrees today and muddy though.
Great hike
Challanging trails. More than I was prepared for with my 4 year old. Be prepared for some mud. The rock formations are neat and worth the hike. Cant wait to get further next time we go.
Short but entertaining
Very nice! I loved climbing the rocks at the top of the path.
Our favorite trails!
Lovely place for a little hike in the woods
Quiet, nature all around.
Wonderfully secluded even though its in a busy area. Trails have many interesting things to see along your hike. Warning: it is hilly!
Great trails, trail markers need to be updated or replaced.
Nice hiking trails. We took a two and a half hour hike and only covered part of the park. Lots of up and down hiking. Cute town.
Its a nice place to walk around in. Its near or on South Mountain so parts are hilly and many trees.
Great playground. It even has a sandbox. Great walking trail from alpine street to homestead park. Great hiking trails up south mountain. Gigantic rock formations similar to big rock park in salisbury township. Many different trails traversing the mountain. Good family fun. Park as a picnic pavilion
Everyone should stay away!
Great trails, all levels.
Good hikes but like a you are here on the map at the entrance would have been a big help lol
It is a good place to take a walk and enjoy nature
Trials are pretty. Well marked and fun things to do along the walk or bike. I have included a picture of the trail map
Awesome Place to take the kids.
Maintained trails. Not many people. Quiet home along South Mountain
Very nice natural area with hiking trails near Emmaus.
The trails are great!
This is a nice place for a hike. The difficulty of your hike can be managed by consulting the maps which are available at several locations. Trails are well marked with colored flags on trees. There are a few places where trails come together and you could get confused if you dont have a copy of the map with you or on your phone.Cell service seemed to be available throughout. The only downside was that there are power lines in the park and they were under maintenance, which made the trail difficult in places. (As of 4/21/2019).
I really enjoy the floodplains trail. It runs right next to little lehigh creek and has beautiful scenery. The conservancy as a whole has a very laid back feel to it that makes for a great walk. It is a great place to take the kids when you have an hour or so to kill and want be outside but not out in the middle of nowhere.
Lots of great trails through woods and across streams.
Amazing as always. so peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. one of my favorite spots to hike
Seem nice. the trails I went on were quite wide and flat its worth going again.
I love it here! Its very close to my house and it is the perfect little trail walk that I need from time to time.
Great place, close to town but there is a lot of territory here. Good for hiking, trail running and bouldering
Awesome place tonteail run. Trails marked pretty well.
Please visit if you love nature. The flood plains boardwalk is unlike anything aroundBe sure to stop wt the frog pond
Great hiking trails. Busy on the weekends.
This place is a real treasure for local residents who want to hike in the woods on well marked but somewhat rough trails. The busy Lehigh Valley has a number of good places for walking in nature but this one feels like you are far away from civilization although you arent. Great for exercise, biking, or dog walking.
Good hiking spot. Also good for biking. So watch out for the bikers. Some like to go fast down the trail.
Great trails great mountain
Amazing views
Nice place for hike.
Beautiful place and great walking trails
Nice park and several well marked trails to hike at the Alpine St location. The park had a picnic pavilion, tennis court, basketball court and playground.
Pretty good
My favorite trail right in town. Super easy to get to, but kind of hidden. I had lived in emmaus for a few years and never knew it existed. The trails are all marked clearly except for the Red Trail which can be difficult to find the second half as the markers are at greater distances in the clearing than they are in the woods.
Well maintained trails and excellent signage
Great hike with beautiful rock formations. Easy to moderate hike.
Its a short dirt trail not much to see or do.
Great trails for walking or running
Such a great place so close to town. Lets keep it wild. Many miles of hiking trails right in Emmaus with over a 500 ft rise. Did someone say back country skiing?
Nice tranquil place to hike
Lived here for 10 years and just discovered this place. Its great, nice spot for hiking and viewing wildlife.
Easy to access and many forest trails available without leaving town.
Great place to hike
Our boy scout had a great time on our nature walk
The scenery is amazingly peaceful
My favorite hiking spot.
Nice to have real hiking right outside of allentown!
Great mix use nature area in the Lehigh Valley. Trails are well maintained and marked. Among other things, its a great place to hike with the dog, run, or bike.
Beautiful scenery and great trails. Perfect for family hikes!
Great hiking close to home
Great local day hike, lots of trail loops for a variety of distances up to 5+ miles.
Awesome trial kept clean fairly easy to navigate A++
Beautiful space so close to everything, and the mountain biking trails are unmatched in this area
