Since the house is closed right now due to Covid, I can’t say much about it. But if you’re coming only for the gardens, they’re not expansive. There’s a pretty but small formal garden in back of the house, and an overgrown cutting garden on the other side of the entrance road, as well as a local community garden area.Maybe you can find the small mausoleum in the woods that’s noted on the map. I looked but couldn’t find it. Looks interesting. There are woods trails as well. Looks like a vibrant place for community events in normal times.
Beautiful place. Great trails
Good walking place.
I am family so I am a bit partial. I am grateful for all that you do to preserve my fathers familys home. My grandchildren were amazed last summer when they saw their connection. Thank you!
Great place to visit for the family. They have different events happening throughout the year. We love snow sledding on the big front lawn as well.
Glad I went while I was in the area. Staffs are friendly and personal. Self-guided audio tour makes it easier to walk around the building on your own pace. Highly recommended.
Beautiful trails and super friendly staff. A well preserved house as well?
Good fast food. But not hot.
Very beautiful, short, easy walk on the smaller loop, especially with little ones in tow. Its open even when the Museum is not.
We went for the Holiday High Tea and to see the Christmas trees on display. Nice old house with some history. I cant honestly rate how it is when the holiday season is not on display, but the Christmas decor and the tea were great.
Absolutely beautiful. Their Christmas trees were stunning. Well worth the $5 admission fee. Ornaments and lovely linens to purchase as well.
The video tour was very detailed and kept our intrest.
Peaceful setting. Beautiful landscape
Another tree from the garden club to beautify Woodlawn
Lovely place to walk year round
The Woodlawn museum itself is beautiful, a wonderful learning experience for the whole family. Come prepared to spend a few dollars in their nostalgic gift shop. The hill out back is excellent for sledding!
Trails only and that gives you a nice walk in the forest, part borders on a RV park but theyre harmless. Lots of fern, quiet for the most part, some big with boardwalks to keep dry.
Great place with amazing history. It felt like you walked back into time.
Toured the Woodlawn estate in Ellsworth. very nice audio tour, around the house and yards
Unusual...all original furniture, access upstairs, owned by one family. Nice self-guided recorded tour. Nice grounds. Docent was interesting and accommodating. Felt welcome.
So worth the trip!
Nice experience, like a miniature northern gore place. Under renovation will be much nicer when done.
Best place to learn about how old business people lived way back then, also the school field trips offer great memories.
Nice little Ellsworth gem. Great place for short, flat hikes.
Great
What a beautiful place. The walking trails are great.
The self narrated tour was very nice.
Nice snapshot of the time
Great museum with a lot of local history. A little expensive considering there is no live tour.
Great walking trail, worked out great as site for family photos. Hosts numerous events, seminars, antique shows, etc.
Lots of beautiful antique furniture and interesting history!
Really pretty and great walking trails behind.
Nice hike
Nice historical building
Wish I can see the old kitchen
Beautiful house, friendly staff, and very historic!
We were looking for something to do on s rainy day, and found a gem!
