What an amazing ensemble! I have had the privilege of attending their concerts over the years and I have never been disappointed. The music selection is always challenging and thoughtful. The interpretation and execution are spot on. The group is professional and passionate. I cant wait for the next concert!

Ive attended performances over the past dozen years and have always thoroughly enjoyed them. It is a large choir, and the power of so many voices always impresses me. They offer a great variety of musical genres. Ive equally loved their Baroque concerts and their performance of WWI songs. Ive taken my teenage niece and she loves it too. The performers kindly bring in food for the attendees to enjoy after the concert, which gives it a real community feel. I highly recommend seeing a performance!

I have been a part of this choir since 2006. I love performing with such talented folks. We perform with professional soloists and orchestra members, which is such a treat. It is an amazing group of people and I love that people can come hear fantastic music at an affordable price! Come check us out!!

Great group! I’ve really enjoyed the performances and can tell that a lot of preparation goes into each concert. Ticket price seems a little high, but happy to support a local community group.

I joined CPC in 2003 and have had so much fun singing with them since then. This group is local and reasonably diverse in terms of race, age, gender, and musical background. Annual dues are not too high, and are reduced if you have financial hardship. The larger performances offer a free lecture beforehand where you can learn various tidbits about the pieces. (Theres also a reception with baked goods afterwards--I especially like the homemade lemon bars!) The directors and staff pick out music from different countries and time periods, and its neat to hear the guest soloists, whether opera singers or jazz musicians or classical instrumentalists. Keep up the good work!

The Columbia Pro Cantare has been my creative outlet since 1994. Back then, tackling Handels Messiah was a new and challenging experience. I had been a chorus singer for 6 or 7 years. But new to me were the detailed instructions for shaping my mouth for specific tones and sounds. It was a new world for me: Brahms Requiem, Carmina Burana, Verdis Requiem, Faure, Durufle, Mozart, all new friends. We have premiered commissioned pieces and performed rare and little known gems. I was challenged to sing in Hebrew, Czech, Polish, French, Spanish, Russian, German, German Latin and Italian Latin. A wonderful new delight were the many professional soloists who performed with us. And I had a behind the scenes look as well as the best seat in the house. I have been a member of the Chamber Singers since 1997. I joined because they traveled abroad every other summer and performed many smaller venues throughout the year. I was able to tour with them to the Czech Republic in 1999. The two groups have changed in many ways over this many years. Friends have come and gone. My children once attended my concerts. Now they are all moved on as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from working with Frances Dawson and Laura Lee Fischer. They are supremely dedicated to the group and bring a rich wealth of knowledge about each piece and how to bring to life. I would recommend the Columbia Pro Cantare to anyone looking for an artistic singing group to join. The members are lovely and welcoming. And I would highly recommend taking in a concert this season. You will enjoy it.
