Very nice assortment of art from paintings to pottery and bronze statues. Enjoyable strolling around looking into the minds of the various artists. They offer membership packages, single visits passes, and have specials for seniors and students. The place seems well maintained but the carpet on the walls certainly makes it appear less appealing. The staff was quick to offer historical data and an overview of the art contained therein. Not the best exhibits Ive seen but with the rich history of the building, the art, and staff friendliness I have to give this place 5* OVERALL!

It was a nice surprise today 3/17 they were open. Very nice gentleman told us & our grandson some interesting stories on the art they had exhibited. Grandson (age 6) really liked the scavenger hunt - Cute!!

Wonderful museum collection! Also viewed the Regional Exhibition during our visit. This art collection is definitely worth the visit as it features most of the great American artists of the 19-21st centuries!

Great experience! Art was great, but staff was even better. I took 2 5 year olds and a 2 year old. They had a scavenger hunt for us which was great to keep the kids entertained.

Interesting assortment in old bldg

I came here with my 3 children ages 8, 10, and 12. The staff was very welcoming and explained some of the exhibits to us. They gave my children a scavenger hunt to complete and helped them find some of the art they were unable to find themselves. We had fun looking at the art and exploring the museum.

The person who welcomed me was enthusiastic and intelligent and even connected where I am going to college with my viewing experience. I loved it.

A gem right here in Elkhart. The museum holds some very interesting and gorgeous art and the traveling exhibits are fresh and relevant. The staff was very helpful. The building itself is a piece of history which added a whole new layer to the time we spent exploring.

This place is pretty cool. I was really impressed with their Rockefeller collection. The admission price is very reasonable and my girlfriend and I spent a good couple of hours admiring the almost eclectic variety of art exhibits. The *only* downside to the whole trip was the trip down memory lane when using their restrooms which looked to be from my elementary school years...

There were some amazing pieces

Dont let the outside deceive you, this is a really cool place to visit and spend an afternoon. If you have very young children they will probably get bored, but many of the exhibits are much more detailed and impressive then you might expect in such a small town.

The Midwest Museum of American Art is a huge tribute to the arts scene in Elkhart Indiana. It is celebrating its 40th anniversary in May, continuing the varied exhibits, educational weekly talks and yearly Elkhart Juried Regional, to mention a few of its its offerings

Excellent staff who are very knowledgeable about the artwork there on display. Great temporary display exhibits come in on a regular basis as well.

Outstanding collection of American artwork in all mediums, including pieces by Norman Rockwell and Grandma Moses. What I love about them is how they nurture local artists with an annual juried show. Its on display October through December. Theres so much artistic talent here in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.

Variety of works from different artists, including locals. Very neat and a great date idea.

The facility needs a good cleaning. Many if the works are in need of restoration work. The lighting is awful. It has a variety but not well displayed.

The Printmaking Exhibit is an incredible collection. Being a printmaket i really appreciated the diversity of this show. From the period of historical documentation to the print becoming its own artform. Loved the show and the presentation.
