Located in El Segundo just a few minutes west of Hawthorne, the Old Town Music Hall is a must-visit attraction for music lovers from yesteryear. The hall has been an iconic live entertainment venue dating back to the late ‘60s. It specializes in showcasing classic and silent movies with a live music compliment, performed on one of the largest Wurlitzers in the world. The impressive instrument features thousands of individual pipes pumping out powerful music, lending an air of drama that really enhances the movie experience.Seats at the historic hall tend to fill quickly, so plan ahead if you’ll be catching a show during peak times

Wonderful place !! A delight for your hearing, and heart. If youve never heard a Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, you have to hear this one. The most wonderful sound!! This is the best organ I have ever heard!! No two organs sound alike, this one is unbelievable !!

What a wonderful hidden gem in old El Segundo. One of the last standing silent movie theaters (that also plays talkies) circa 1920s! Live music, golden oldie films, and delectable concessions. Be sure to bring cash or check, they do not except cards. Price is $10 general admission for most shows. There is free parking in the Chevron refinery lot on the SE side of the theater. Go there. See it.

What a terrific place. Quaint and kitschy and elegant. Saw a wonderful Astaire/Rogers movie, enjoyed the organ performance, and generally had a great time. I highly recommend it.

Classic old time theater with an amazing Wurlitzer pipe organ. Its really reasonably priced especially considering you get a demonstration of the organ and other fun things before the movie actually begins. The staff and crew are super talented and friendly, and the interior is magnificently decorated. It has the feel of a small town theater, with the ability to transport you back in time. Worth it for a date, kids, weekend detour. One of the few places that gets five stars in my book.

Love the fact that there are still places like this around. Check their website for movie listings. Each classic movie begins with a performance on the very impressive organ, sing alongs, and classic movie shorts. Note that the free movie program goes for about an hour.

So much fun listening to the old theater organ, real fun singing along with great organist. Great old movies and some silent movies shown. Great old theater. So nice to do a matinee at Old Town Music Hall and then eat at one of the great food and drink establishments all within walking distance. Great way to spend an afternoon and evening in El Segundo.

You must go to at least one performance. There arent many old theatres like this one. The organ was played and several 3 Stooges movies were shown.

Just because this place is obviously an incredible labor of love doesnt mean I like sitting in an uncomfortable seat. That said, great grandma will love a visit to her 1920s childhood movie theater, singalong and all. For the rest of us, its mostly a museum, with amazing curators and films from so distant a time as to seem downright foreign. Did I mention hokey? It seems to be the periods primary cultural value.

The box office is a hot mess, but I love the Wurlitzer organ, the classic movies, and the entertainers that Old Town Music Hall gets! Despite multiple frustrating experiences with whoever answers their phones, the fact that this place is keeping a classic era of cinema and culture alive keeps me coming back.

Old Town Music Hall is really one of the stars in the crown of L.A. Located in the charming classic south bay town of El Segundo, it is the old State Theater built in 1925. The gentleman who runs the place has since 1968 and is passionate about providing wonderful music (and does so playing the Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ which came from the old Fox Theater in Downtown Long Beach. Classic films are shown nearly every weekend at an affordable price. The occasional Laurel and Hardy festivals are really a treat. Speaking of treats, candy and baked goods are available for sale. A perfect venue and family friendly. Youll want to go here over and over again and tell all your friends that you did.

Nerd girl here, but whats not to love about old time classic movies, cartoons & sing-alongs and wonderful live organ & piano music? Come on, Sunset Blvd, Flash Gordon & the Shark people? Its a classic movies buff paradise. If you dont love it, Hollywood will revoke your movie Nerd card. Theres also great indy resturants, craft beers and a cool Tiki bar in walking distance, spend the afternoon and enjoy a fantastic flick.

I first visited the Old Town Music Hall with my father in the mid 70s for a Laurel and Hardy marathon. It was a great experience. Now, some 40 years later, I drove from Nevada to see the silent movie WINGS and loved it. It is still a great place. I am planning on going again in June for the Laurel and Hardy marathon again. If it were possible, I would move to that area so I would not have to drive for five hours to get there. The location where the theatre is in El Segundo seem to be a nice little place. I recomment the OTMH to anyone that loves the Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ and classic movies. Enjoy!
