A quite museum tucked away downtown. It’s free and offers such a vivid account of the Nazi regime and life in concentration camps. They have many artifacts and displays that are both heartbreaking and very intriguing. It is a self guided tour, however there is a sweet staff member that is very happy to share stories and offer historical context. At the end the museum patrons are allowed to pay respects by placing a stone on a memorial. I highly recommend a visit. While I have no complaints, I would say that the gift shop is slightly spiritless. Overall though, a great experience.

“In memory of those who have no one left to remember them.”I did not have much expectation when I visited The El Paso Holocaust Museum and Study Center in Texas. There is no way that it could be better than the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum I visited in Washington, D.C.A look from the entrance suggests that it is indeed a small museum. Also, the museum seems unknown to many in the area, as no one around there even knew where exactly it is located. When I entered the museum, I was surprised how the exhibits were well put together.Small but it has amazing collection of resources and historic items. The coverage of the exhibits is sufficient enough to convey the significant events in the Holocaust. The section about Jewish El Paso history is informative.I would recommend that you visit the museum and donate to help educate everyone of the story that should never be forgotten.

Spent the day with my son studying the Holocaust while we were in town visiting and was excited to go in for a few moments only to be turned away!!!!! It was 4:34 and was told they stopped letting people in at 4:30 even though they don’t close until 5pm. We traveled all the way there to be turned away!! We only wanted a few minutes!I did check the website after writing this review and it does say that tours need to be started 30 minutes prior to closing but I would think as close as we were to the time a little lead way could have been given. Maybe my review will help someone else not get turned away.

Very educational, emotional, and a need be place to visit. The haunting history is undeniable! People need to learn from their past to prevent a repeat in the future. Its the 21st century and were still seeing horrible echoes of racism, anti-semitism, and discrimination in America of all places. People need to vote! People need to speak up and defend each other! The holocaust cant happen again! Walmart shooting cant happen again! Bad leaders in this country cant happen again! Read, learn, vote!

With the rising antisemitism and the constant antisemitic attacks we see throughout the United States, its important to remember the history of the Jewish people and never forget what they endured so we will not repeat it.The Holocaust museum has many exhibits and a lot can be learned from it. Shes an elementry student and all the examples came as a shock to her but as she watched the videos and had it explained to her she got a better grasp of the events of the holocaust. It opened up a lot of discussion in our household about the events so very well done. Highly recommended as its a powerful Museum that will educate you as well as affect you emotionally.

Saturday 16 Nov 2019. My daughter, a friend and myself took my 2 granddaughters and 4 of their friends to visit your Museum as they are studying the Holocaust in school. I knew they had grasped the meaning of it all as I saw tears fill their eyes. We stopped by your gift shop where books, pens and other things were purchased. Later we discussed what they had seen in which they said We need places like this so noone forgets so it never happens again. Thank you so much for letting these children have this moving experience. I explained to them though that not all Germans were Nazis and then we discussed Shindler, and Irena Sendler. Thank you and the staff for everything and the experience that my granddaughters and their friends will long remember.

I recently visited the museum with my teenage daughter. We were greeted warmly at the front desk. Of note, I was not allowed to bring my backpack into the museum. My backpack contained valuables I did not want to leave in my truck unattended. The security guard wasn’t overly friendly, but efficiently secured my belongings while we toured the museum. The museum was small, but contained a considerable collection of emotionally moving exhibits and videos. There was no entrance fee. Donations were encouraged when we entered the museum, but there was very low pressure from the woman at the front desk. As you exit, there was a drop box for donations. The museum builds upon what you may have studied previously. It left me feeling very raw, but also inspired after watching the video interviews of Holocaust Survivors.

The museum is very nice! Since it is self-guided, each station is set up in a way that you can visualize what happened. There are TVs available with a short video throughout the tour, which explain everything from the beginning to the end.In my opinion the videos are not spaced out enough. You have 2 short minutes between each station to look at everything before the video started playing in the next station. What my family and I did was waited for the video to replay before continuing.**Some images shown are not appropriate for small children.**My only complaint was with the security officer on duty at the time of our visit. We were in the last exhibit and had roughly 8 minutes before closing, well as soon as the video ended he rushed us out! We did not have time to look at everything, I tried snapping pictures so I can read/see the information that was posted. We could have easily finish the tour before closing time. We live 18 hours away we will not be able to visit the museum ever again, I wish he would have allowed us to finish. And for this reason alone is why I gave a rating of 3 instead of 5 stars.

The museum is very clean and well maintained. All the exhibits are built magnificently and pay homage to the history and survivors of the Holocaust. The museum happens to be one of only 13 Holocaust museums in the United States and is also fully bilingual (English/Spanish), as El Paso has a huge, Spanish-speaking population. Theres plenty to read, see, and experience here. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here, going through all the interactive exhibits. There is ample parking adjacent to the museum as well.

The best museum in El Paso in my opinion the Holocaust is my favorite topic in history and I absolutely loved this place. Honestly the way it is set up made me feel like I went back in time. I will be going back with more time to better read everything and understand it better. I especially loved the Train wagon they have makes it seem so real when entering the other room like youre actually walking into a concentration camp although thats not an experience everyone would like to live, it just made it feel so real. Definitely would recommend to anyone interested in the Holocaust and how life was before and during this period. I love it!

I have always loved visiting this museum. Its always been a pleasant experience even with the content it contains. Its very informative and it makes you feel so close to those who experienced such horror. You go on a nice tour that shows you the clothes they wore, the rail cars they rode in, the houses and ghettos they lived in. You also see uniforms the Nazis wore and weapons they used. The Holocaust museum in El Paso has always been on my favorites list. This last time I visited though, we went with a small group of children, maybe about 10 kids and their parents. The tour guide wasnt at all great with children. Im sure she doesnt have kids of her own being how she acted with those in our group. She rolled her eyes a lot at them, and she seemed very annoyed by all their questions. I wish we had a different tour guide this time. She didnt make it as well as it could have been. There was so much potential and so many times that she could have planted a seed in their minds but instead she chose to get frustrated and missed so many opportunities. Afterward, the kids didnt seem to mind her attitude and they kept talking about what they saw and heard and they still had so many questions. I took that opportunity to explain it all a little better for mine on our drive home.Well be going back for sure, but next time Ill be sure to ask for another tour guide in case we get her again.
