$$$$ They might say not for profit but they charge a ridiculous amount of money. Family membership prices are very high. The pool is very small. No diving, no deep end. They close it whenever it gets cloudy. The kids area is very limited. Sign in and out (for the kids area) is a pain. Go to the YMCA south of here. The rates are so high they hide them on the web site. Go look for yourself! You have to fill out forms and give them personal information before they show you their rates.

If I could give this YMCA a zero I would. Do not give YMCA your credit card. You’ll never be able to get out of their billing system. This morning Amanda was extremely rude to me while I was checking on why I keep getting billed $40 for membership I never used, I had had to go in person to terminate several months ago and I’m still getting billed! She ranted and raved that I should have known what I was doing when I signed up for membership. I was astonished to be lectured while I’m checking on why I keep getting billed to my credit card. Poor customer service skills at this YMCA, will never do business at YMCA again.

YMCA is the best around, my family and I LOVE it. Is always clean and their staff is supportive and friendly. The equipment is always clean and running. The environment is great for families and they have a wide variety of classes. Yoga on Saturdays with Natalie and Total Body Conditioning on Thursdays with Sara are my favorites. They only thing I would change is the opening time, they open at 6:00 am and is hard to make a routine before work, I wish they opened at 5:00 AM, but that is difficult as not too many people show up that early.

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST ever gym! Their staff and trainers are a picture of no hard selling, enthusiasm, and professionalism. The gym and its equipment are so PRISTINE that we thought they opened recently! The owner certainly is highly passionate about fitness. It is THE PLACE you should go, if you wish to quickly get in shape!!!

Since joining the facility two months ago, the membership has more than lived up to my expectations and needs. I appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, as well as the state of the art venue. Please support this YMCA and tell your friends and family. It has proven to be a great experience for myself, my wife, and for children. And special thanks to Trish and Amara. Thank you Northwest Valley family YMCA!

I had contacted them mid April to possibly reserve the pool for a function. They had taken my contact info as well as details for the event; such as, date and time, number of people attending and age of people attending. Then I got the if you dont hear anything by X date, call back. After numerous calls, speaking to a number of managers, and a total of 3 requested officially inputted I heard nothing for 2 weeks. Then when I called back today I was informed by the supervisor that pool reservations were not available. After a month of calling, leaving messages, and well get back to yous I get told they dont offer that service. The way it was handled was super unprofessional. The supervisor would not even talk to me directly but only relay information through the super polite woman that answered the phone at the front desk.

So bought a membership for me my wife and family. Hardly used it as they over charge for any kind if activity for the kids. Pool hardly open in the summer. Have of the treadmills are broken. So decided to cancel my subscription and was told theres a 30 day cancellation policy. However when I signed up with the director right there he told me there is no 30day policy. So he lied to me. Now I have to pay for another month that I wont use. My suggestion is to stay away from here and find somewhere better.

I began going to this gym about 2 months ago and I really am loving it!  The gym is very nice, comfortable, & clean. The trainers I’ve worked with are extremely nice, helpful,  and they explain every move very thoroughly. It’s a lot of fun and keep you moving.

Well this is the first and last time we schedule and hold a party/event. We paid in advance for 3 hours and found out the day of/today as we set up that the a/c is not working. Multiple pregnant women and elderly folks in a hot room is definitely what we want! I feel bad for my wife and her guests Im the one that encouraged her to hold her Baby shower there this is unbelievable and breaks my heart that I did that to her if I would have known something lime this was going to take place I would have rescheduled or just held the event somewhere else! Waste of money is what it feels like because we could have done it at a park outside for free in a cabana especially for how hot it was inside at least it would have been less muggy outside. Thanks for my first impression it will be the last time we hold any event there.

Chlorine levels in the pool are off the charts. My family swam for a few hours, over a week later our skin and hair is extremely dried out, a garment worn in the pool is totally bleached. Never had this happen before and over the years visiting Surprise, Peoria and this YMCA. Something is up with the water.

This is frustrating, I love everything about this gym except the mornings when the gym is to open at 6 and the one kid is ALWAYS late. Not a minute or two, 10 to 15 minutes. Even over an hour one day. Why is he still working the morning if he can’t be here on time? The girl who works the morning is great! It’s only the guy who makes this 5 star become a 3.

Just started working out here about a month ago. The prices are amazing ($57/MONTH) compared to Mountainside Fitness that charges $100+ a month for all 9 of us. The facility is clean. Some of the machines were I little dusty but not too bad. My only complaint is regarding the staff that take care of the small children. The morning staff are amazing. There are more mature women and one guy. They take care of my twins well. The 4-8pm shift on the other hand are not so great. They are younger maybe college kids or straight out of high school with no experience and bad attitudes. Theres one girl there with thick drawn on eyebrows....I have literally walked back out of the building when she is there. She interrupted me in the middle of my workout to ask me if it was ok to give my son a bottle because he was crying. Like why do you have to ask? I prepared everything for you to take care of my twins. So I only go in the mornings now.

Great staff very friendly.I love that they remember your name feels welcoming! Just wish they would open the pool at least for feb march and april and heat it like they used to, for water aerobics.I would be also willing to pay extra for water aerobics class ..but im happy for what they offer for now. Also its clean in work out area and 95 percent of the time the restroom is very clean!

I was just kicked out of this place by stating how much I loved this country and how I was proud because of my familys tradition of serving in the U.S military and some lady at the front desk named Jacqueline from England kicked me out only because I said how I truly love this country. I cant believe the amount of disrespect I received. Please do not go to a place such as the YMCA which doesnt support our veterans.

I cant afford it. When I saw the initial prices minus the membership fees (which were waived when they opened), I about fell out of my chair. I had reservations about this partnership with the City of El Mirage. Those concerns were not unfounded. How the city council and leadership could possibly think that this was a great deal for the residents of El Mirage when the Y showed them the proposed membership plans is beyond me. How can a single parent with one child afford $56 a month for recreation services? Have you looked around at other for-profit gyms in the area? I can go to a for-profit gym down the road with childcare and classes for under $30/month. How did it get the name Northwest Valley YMCA? This was supposed to be recreation services for the residents of El Mirage.

Reviewed the website for the activities for Seniors. It led me to believe it had water aerobics for seniors and other senior activites. The phone number referenced on the website was evidently to a general call center. I was informed there were NO activities for seniors. I suggest they take this information off their website saying they do as it is very misleading.

This place is horrible. Their after care program sucks. My kids took care of themselves the entire time. all the teachers did was text and use the phones and watch tv. One teacher told my child that he likes when my kids dont come because my son is annoying. Who does that?!?!When I cancelled my membership I was told I wouldnt have to pay for the next month service because i canceled two weeks in advance LIE! I was charged and was charged a late fee! Horrible horrible business.

They are ALL about the money. Ridiculously high rates, wouldnt let me include my 18 year old son in the membership without MORE money. Then charge extra for programs for my kids. And THEN charge more fees when I didnt have enough money in my acct to pay once and was a week late. Wont cancel without an in person visit (no phone cancellations) and then charge for ANOTHER month if you dont give 30 days notice. I have spent over $300 since joining and have only gone twice. Absolutely ridiculous, a hassle to cancel, and just exorbitant fees!
