Meodowdale Beach Park is a family friendly popular trail. The hike is a pleasant walk about a mile through the beautiful forest leading to the beach that seems to be like a hidden Gem with a view to match at the end.... just after the small tunnel. Save some energy for the walk back. The climb from the beach can be tough... which also have strategic spots- logs and single benches to take a rest Parking gets fully quickly and plan to get there early or enough time to either wait on people leaving find another option... it was worth it

Mostly, Im tired of people being ugly to each other. Im tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world...every day. Theres too much of it. Its like pieces of glass in my head...all the time. Even on a rainy cloudy day, we had a great time. Be advised it does get very muddy when it rains. The parking lot is a little small so be prepared for a packed parking lot on a nice day. The hike down to the beach was very pretty mostly down hill. The beach was great. Plenty of room at low tide at the beach. Dogs are welcome! Hike on the way back is not too difficult either but it is mostly up hill.

Parking was closed on the day I went, so I had an extra trek down to the walking trails that lead to the beach, but it was worth it. Such a peaceful and beautiful walk. It’s far enough out that you can’t hear traffic, only birds. The trails are compact dirt and well maintained. Some areas are a bit on the hilly side, but it’s rated easy as far as a hike goes.

The beach is nice but there is almost no parking at all there. Probably enough for 15 cars or so. We arrived at 10am and there was no parking left already. We had to park in a residential area. The hike is a mile long to the beach. Its not that bad going down but coming back up is all uphill which can be a little challenging for some people so wear comfortable shoes. No restrooms there. The porta potties were gross. The beach was very rocky but nice and clean.

I rarely give trails a 5 star but this one deserves a 5.1. Well maintained and clean2. There is an altitude change so you get the best of your workout /cardio3. Lots of flora/fauna along the way like creeks, ferns, tall trees, wild flowers, birds, etc4. Well marked5. Has parking on either sides6. Dog and kid friendly7. Has a train rail road towards the west/beach side and you can walk under that bridge to reach the beach.8. Magnificent view of the pudget sound and plenty of sand and picnic benches on the beach

Meadowdale Beach Park is a really beautiful park and beach. I loved walking along the path down to the beach through the vibrant and colourful forest. You really feel close with nature, but you dont feel super far away from civilization at the same time. You can see amazing mountains from the beach, and you can see so far in every direction. Definitely recommend!

This place is a hidden gem. An easy and kid friendly 1 mile hike through a wooded area (about 900ft elevation gain) takes you to the beach. The trail is well maintained. There are benches along the trail if you get tired, and at the beach if you are here for a picnic. There are honey buckets just before the beach access. A train track runs around the periphery of the beach, which is an added attraction if you are here with kids.

Great hike through a beautiful stretch of PNW forest. Looks quite narrow on the map, but walking through, you feel like youre in the wilderness. Actually fairly long walk, sloping down to the beach and back up, - took us a little over 2 hours to complete - but the trail is well-groomed and the incline is gradual, but enough to work up a sweat on the return trip. Great views of the Puget Sound once you get to the beach, and it was also fun to watch a passing freight train as it hugged the coast.

I visited in early January and there were only a few parking spaces available, so I can only imagine how busy it is in warmer weather. There are port-a-potties down by the beach as well. Be sure to give yourself enough time to climb back up the hill to get back to your car before dusk as the entrance gate will be closed and locked at that time. This is a very nice neighborhood beach park in the area that I personally enjoy visiting and walking on the trail. It is short, only has brief hike section with stairs and uphill, and the trail is very well maintained. The area near the beach has a large open grassy area with shelters, and restrooms at the end.The only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating is the very limited parking space in comparison to the demand this park has. I personally think the playground area should be demolished and make room for more parking. The primary attraction/reason for this park is the trail and the beach at the end, the playground is just taking up room. There is always overflow and you need to park your car outside the park, in front of some residential area if you are lucky, or need to turn around. You will want to come early on the weekend to find yourself a spot, or be prepared to wait/turn around.

Amazing hike down to the beach. The incline can be steep at points on the trail on the ascent back to the upper parking area. There is a lower parking area for those who are not able to hike the trail but would like to access the picnic/day area that leads to the beach. Beautiful area that has a few small waterfalls, all types of foilage, fungi and wildlife. The beach area is accessed through a small tunnel that goes under the train tracks. Wonderful hike down to the ocean, with spectacular views of nature along the way. Id recommend it for anyone looking to get a tiny workout in in the way back to the car as the hike can get steep in a couple places. Be careful parking in the parking lot. Tryed take parents here show the beautiful area when visiting. Decided to leave sadly. Usually two men sitting in two different cars or old truck. Waiting to do smash and grab theft. A sign says high robbery area. And when pulled up park there was a fresh window broken with glass everywhere. Hard to enjoy a beautiful park when safety is not for the weak hearted. Parklot also insulated so of was more open probably be better for everyone.Unless your walking in not the safest beach in seattle Id worst golden gardens on crime and unsafe for children. Im sure beach is great but not worth the stress or experience before or after the fun beach trip.

If your in good shape you can make it down to the water and back in 45min (winded), most of us should expect 1-1/2 hrs to 2 hrs without much time spent at the beach. Check the bulletin board I have hiked down to find no beach access. Different, less traveled trails can offer a completely new experience for someone who has visited it hundreds of times. Boy howdy is the trail to this serindipity long, but worth it. When youre on the trail and thinking when is this going to end?!? it finally opens to this. I felt at peace reading and eating grapes when this amazing train came chugging along. For someone that is NOT an avid hiker, I would give the diffucilty level a 3 out of 5. I do however see mothers with 5 childern trying to do this hike and aspire to have that kind of patience. The worst part is the hike back, it is incredibly steep and found myself out of breath quite often. One thing to take into consideration is the barnicles, if you tend to get anywhere near the water. Please bring shoes you can wear and do not take them off. I got a nice cut from one and had a very difficut time walking for a week!

Great beach, great hike... Worst parking situation ever. Everyone in Seattle is desperate for any type of extracurricular activity, so anytime the day is sunny, the weather is good, or a random holiday... Just stay away from this place. Quick hike to the beach. I like this short trail because you can get a decent work out in. Half of the trail is a steep incline (450 feet down) before the rest of the trail levels out the beach. So you can hike/run down the trail and do the same coming back up. About 1 mile each way. The hassle is that parking lot is not very big maybe 20 cars ao on busy days you have to park outside of the park gates. The beach is a nice goal to reach at the end of the trail with picnic tables ans bathrooms.
