The Thomas Edison Center is now open. Our tour guide Russ was amazing. He really made you feel like you were right there learning how edison perfected how these inventions. I got goosebumps on several of the stories he told. It make look small but it is so full of facts and interesting things. I definitely recommend going. The price is cheap ($5). Will definitely visit again!

This may be the best 2-room museum you’ll ever visit, especially if Chuck is your guide! We were so pleasantly surprised by this tiny place. We learned so much in our hour-long guided tour. Before today I really had no idea what an accomplished inventor and business person Edison was. I’m truly in awe of this man.

The $5 per person fee seems extravagant for a “collection” that spans two small rooms in a shack, but it is indeed quite interesting.People know Edison as the inventor of the light bulb, but a tour of this small collection (don’t call it a museum!) proves that he was a prolific inventor and engineer.I recommend making it a stop on your next road trip.

Amazing museum rich in history. Mr. Chuck did an amazing job narrating the life of Thomas Edison. The tour lasted approximately 1 hour but I could stay there all day. Dont be fooled by how small the place looks, every inch of it is so rich in culture that you forget the dimensions of the locale. It was a $5 well spent!

Main centerpiece is the recently restored Thomas A. Edison Memorial Tower which stands on the site of the laboratory building. Theres a interpretive marker on the site of the nearby Sarah Jordon Boarding House site. While small, the museum (which stands on the site of the machine shop) is informative with a great staff.

It is a very tiny museum...just a room in fact, but full of original artifacts. Great history and they have guided tour where they will tell you everything in detail about the place so you get all information you need. There is a $5 entry fee and the parking is on the street. Worth a visit if you are around the place. You should be done seeing what you need within half an hour.

Took 9, 10 & 11 year olds (101 of them over the course of 3 days) to this local gem and loved every minute. I highly suggest this museum as a field trip for curious learners. Don’t forget your sneakers for the excellent nature trail! Rachael and Laura were excellent docents.

If you do one thing in Edison, this is the thing to do. The Thomas Edison Center may look inconspicuous from the outside, but inside its filled with some of Edisons major advancements. The tour is only a few dollars and is worth the price. The tour guides are quite friendly and do a great job of explaining the museums contents. While small, the museum is on the site where Edison perfected the light bulb and invented the phonograph and electric train, among many other inventions. Theres a trail next to the museum that is great to spend some time on if you love nature.

I came here from New York by train. The station is near (though a fair hike from) Metropark station, and there are good directions on their website to find it. Google Maps did not have the correct location, though, and I ended up wandering around a bit before I finally found the place. I got the feeling it would not be easy to find the place by car, either. Better signage would help with that. Once I got here, I was glad Id made the trip. They give guided tours of the museum and grounds that are both interesting and informative. While the museum is quite small, its a well-selected collection. You really do get a good look at Edisons life and inventions.

We were visiting New Jersey and had a few hours before we could check into our hotel and since the museum was close by, we decided to check it out. We went on a Saturday and it seems like they might only have guided tours on Saturdays which was great because the museum is really tiny. I think if you just walked in and perused the exhibits it wouldnt be as interesting. Chuck, our amazing tour guide, really brought Thomas Edisons life story and inventions to life. It was very educational and interesting and fun and I recommend it if youre in the area.

Dont get confused with title. Museum is size of somebodys living room. Website and printed brochure listed suggested fee $5 but xenophobic director of this place was mean and obnoxious and didnt let us in. So I dont know whats inside and if it worth to pay $5 to get in. Then my American colleague went to talk to her and they arranged a tour around Edison Tower. One of trustees was a super nice gentleman and gave us a tour around grounds.

A knowledgeable person and happy to answer any questions, you may have..
