Quaint little Beach for the local inhabitants. It is not a public beach so it isnt as spacious or accessible to larger crowds. Additionally, the water isnt as clean as the water on a beach so I wouldnt recommend swimming too far in it. As a quiet space for a walk on the beach or a place to think, this place receives a thumbs up.

I love this beach so much. I struggle with chronic depression and I go here (sometime smoke) just to get away and get to look at the water. I love the water, and even though I dont go in it, its so nice to watch it wash up on the shore. Sometimes people go crabbing, and its cool to watch them. This is one of my favorite places on earth.

I grew up in this neighbourhood and lived here for 25 years, spending my childhood and teen years enjoying this beach both day, and Night. As such Ive seen a lot of changes-especially since the Miramar Beach Civic Association (what it was called when I was a member) took over.·A couple of people have complained about the water; its been filthy for years. The Great South Bay, in general, is filthy. I remember in the past being told that the SCWAs test results have come back positive for hepatitis. (NOTE: This was back in 2010! Im not sure if this still applies in 2019, please conduct your own research on updated water quality tests!) More recently (2013/2014) there was a serious issue with the Town illegally dumping waste (or sewage) into the water at this beach. The water reeked from 200 feet up the road and several dead puffer fish washed up onto the shore every day for less than a week. However this issue was resolved and, to my knowledge, hasnt happened since. I have to say though, in the past 3 years the water does look a lot cleaner, but I still wouldnt trust it knowing the history.·As for litter and broken glass; Miramar Beach used to be a lot more secluded back in the 00s, and used to be THE spot for the several groups of local teenagers to go drinking and drugging late at Night. Id sit on the swings and leave when they showed up, and when Id return the next day the beach was littered with beer cans and drug needles. Now its MUCH cleaner! Kudos to the people who are doing the good work!·Im not a father, but Im surprised nobody has complained about the dock. The old one that Irene tore up and Sandy then blew into oblivion was a lot safer for kids, as it had a rail going along both sides of the entire dock, and a bench so you could go crabbing. The current dock doesnt so its easy to fall in.·Theres now a parking lot. This doesnt make sense to me. Before the current parking lot there was one big circle around the tree by the sign, which actually provided more area for parking than the parking lot thats there now.·Just a heads up for dog owners; people are known for releasing their dogs here too.Overall Miramar Beach is a nice beach to visit if you want to enjoy a sunset from the dock, or go for a walk along the shore.

Some nice views from the dock. However, this is not a great place for young children. The sand is littered with cigarette butts and broken glass. Many bottles have been broken on the metal posts that support the swings. My young son likes to play in the sand and it would be like letting him play in an ashtray that you scattered broken glass in. If they could clean this place up, sift the sand etc. It could be a nice little park. We will not be visiting this place again. Honestly, if you bring your children please be careful allowing them to touch/play in the sand. Id also recommend keeping them out of the water. They could end up with a bad infection.

A Home land spot for me. Many memories had to to have.
