I love taking my niece and nephew here! They love seeing all the dinosaur fossils and being able to read about history! Such a fun and learning experience during the summer! Afterwards stop by the gift shop and grab a souvenir! Thank you MSU museum for doing such a fantastic job!

We had an absolute blast exploring this little Museum. The cost was a suggested donation. And parking was quite reasonable and right outside of the museum. It was very fun to walk around and see all the different exhibits. Would gladly return on a future visit. Favorite part was definitely the Interactive Globe which we played with her quite a while

This place was great. Very few people inside. Parking was easy. And maps were available right at the front. Someone was even there on a saterday to talk to kids about the dinosaur fossils and stuff. All in all its a perfect little museum.

Fantastic little museum. I love dinosaurs. They had several fossils and a couple full sized replicas of some bigger dinosaurs. Definitely worth the visit. Free entrance (donations if you can) and $2.50 to park. A great little visit. Tool is about an hour and half for the full thing.

It was a very nice place. I wish it was larger, and cooler, but they just dont have the room. I enjoyed how close we could get to the exhibits and the old time Michigan stores inside to look at.

A gem in plain site! We loved it and will bring our grandkids back to see such a variety of things. Theres little guaranteed parking right there. We were able to get a visitors parking pass but only a few spots. We were lucky! A busy day could be a problem. Limit was 2 hrs w/ pass which was a fair amount of time. The pass is $2.50 at the museum store. If you are able to walk, theres parking within walking distance. I highly recommend coming by. Its free but donations are encouraged. The store has a nice variety of things for all ages. I would love to see the animals come alive after dark just like in the movie Night in the Museum!

Visited on a lovely Michigan day--cool, breezy, sunny. Walked around the MSU Horticulture Gardens--somewhat smaller than I thought it would be, but some nice perennial gardens and beautiful flowers. A small but interesting childrens garden area where bees and bee houses are showcased. I happened to come when there was an art fair on campus, but even so, there were few people or cars on this summer Sunday. I really appreciated that there are so many areas to park on the weekend--makes this a very visitor friendly campus. Additionally, there are roads throughout the campus that are open to general traffic, so you can really see the campus by car--nice since this is a very large campus.

Apparently, this museum has witnessed the passage of time. Enter the Hall of Animal Diversity and you will see a classic 20th-century natural history museum exhibition. But the oldies can sure be goodies. I find Collections Connections to be really educational. And the Hall of World Cultures is thoughtfully curated and has interesting pieces of work. That being said, there were also things to quibble about in my visit: quite a few multimedia screens were out of order; reflective glass and strong sunlight sometimes made it difficult to appreciate the details of structures in the Heritage Hall; the coat room on the ground level was not labeled on the floor plan; and one display case in the world culture exhibition was empty without a sign stating why. Last, as mens and womens restrooms are on different floors, I think it may be better to make them all-gender.Still, I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you are in the area. Despite a few factors that may affect your visiting experience, the exhibitions here are consistently informative, and admission to the Museum is free (with suggested donation).

My daughter and I visit this museum often. The exhibits on the main floor change often, so it is always a fun place to return to often. On the third floor they have sit-down drawing activities for visitors and a display board you can pin your art work to. The butterfly exhibit is always intriguing (and do not miss out on using the magnifying glass on them). The staff is always friendly and informative. Donations are welcomed. Parking pass is available at the gift shop. The gift shop is reasonably priced, and although it is small it has quite a variety of ever changing items.

Wanted to check out their Darwin Birthday event. Geared towards kids, undergrad and grad students presented so many aspects of our natural world and history in a manner very engaging with children. Even adults could learn from the format offered, very well done and proud of the grad students who were there and I get to support at the MSU Kellogg Biological Station.

Wonderful little on-campus museum with a surprising amount of interesting artifacts and exhibits, including several animals and fossils. Great spot to bring kids. Some hands-on stuff, but not a “children’s museum,” per se. Still, they’ll enjoy seeing elephant skulls, dinosaur bones, etc. Totally free entrance, donations accepted. You do need to pay $2 for parking.

A bit small, but it is free, so still worth the visit IF you were going to be in the area anyway. Exhibit layout is efficient. There is an audio tour available for parts of the Museum via your cellphone. But if you use it, know that the recording assumes that you will walk those exhibits in a counter-clockwise manner.All-and-all, it is a nice place to visit if you are in the area, but not worth building your entire day around.

A nice little outing if youre looking for something free to do. Youd be surprised at how much is actually inside the building! Though the museum could use some modernizing to make it a little more interesting, I would still recommend visiting. There is so much to see that you wouldnt expect to be in such a small, local area.

I basically grew up here and though Ive moved away to NYC I hope to bring my daughter here some day. Some of the exhibits need updating, but the fact it hasnt changed much since I was a kid is kind of comforting. I great place to visit with kids. Its never super crowded and you can see everything in an hour or two. Yes, there are dinosaurs and a small Egypt exhibit. What else does a kid need?

The museum is small, but has some good exhibits. (They also have some strange ones in the temporary exhibit area - I usually stick with the permanent ones.) My daughter is a fan of the stuffed animal area, and I liked the various environment / terrain pieces. Their recreation of early 19th / early 20th century stores is also interesting.
