East Hampton YMCA is a truly good place. State of the art equipment and Trainors, friendly knowledgable staff, spotlessly clean maintained pool and locker rooms. 5 star

Shower curtains have mold. Lockers old and are midget size. Lots of lockers will open even with lock on them. Shower heads are flimsy and constantly have to adjust hot/cold during shower. Pool constantly closed or occupied by groups. Shower curtains are super cheap and small.

I go here due to its close proximity and price, but the layout is very strange. Every area is packed due to misuse of space. If you go during one of the spin classes the music blares so loud cant hear the music in your headphones lol. Good monthly prices though, chose the time you go wisely.

Ive been a member of the East Hampton YMCA since it opened. I use it several times a week. The facility is well-run and maintained. Ive been swimming in indoor pools for over 30 years. This swimming pool is in great shape and a pleasure to swim in. I have always found the staff courteous and responsive. I heartily recommend the Y (as long as you dont take my lane in the pool).

Ive been an East Hampton Y member for the past 6 yrs.Ive always been more than satisfied with the equipment and personnel. Recently all new treadmills, spin bikes , ellipticals, and a new configuration of space has improved convenience and appearance.Recently both mens and womens locker room showers were revamped. My main interest was and is the large indoor pool. The staff is always vigilant deck is clean , and pool is well maintained. Most impressive concerning the entire staff is the attitude How can we do this better?I am happy with the Ymca in East Hampton.

I have lived on the East End in East Hampton for 15 years and have been a member of the East Hampton Rec Center YMCA ever since I first arrived....first on week and monthly passes then as a full year round member. As an avid swimmer, I applaud the management on the maintenace of the aquatic facility. The Aquatic facility is serves the greater East End and is in use for classes, lessons, teams, school groups, yet there is still ample time for individual adult lap swimmers. The schedules are well planned and posted prominently...in the building, online and in media outlets.Swimming has been an important part of my personal regimen of health and well being. Having gone through a over two years period of personal hardship, emotionally and financially, the EHY was a major factor in my recovery process. The management, especially the entire aquatic staff were so supportive and thoughtful during a rough period, but honestly were it not for that group of fellow swimmers, life guards and the senior aquatic management, I could not be flourishing again. This is an amazing community asset. We are lucky to have it....and if you have not visited it....GO!

As a member since 2008, I believe the East Hampton YMCA is the absolute best value in the Hamptons. The price of a membership is relatively inexpensive. While the facility itself is poorly designed, it is equipped with up-to-date equipment and it is one of the few places in the Hamptons with two beautiful pools. There is a sparkling lap pool and a smaller but wonderfully heated workout pool. Both are clean and upgrades to the lap pool have been made over the last year or so. The pool instructors are terrific, especially Tom and Norma with whom Ive had personal experience.I think where the East Hampton Y really excels, though, is in its fitness classes. The fitness room was very poorly designed and because it is heavily trafficked, it sometimes needs a sweeping. But, the instructors teaching the classes are extraordinary. Yoga teacher, Jaki Jackson is an East Hampton treasure. Ms. Jacksons knowledge of yoga and the human body as well as her teaching methods make her classes life changing experiences. Her classes are so coveted that many line up early just to secure a spot in the class. Jacqui Perrine, who teaches Zumba, Core and Integrated Fitness, is another spectacular teacher. Jacquis command of the various fitness methods she teaches, coupled with her knowledge of how the body works, and peppered with her strong motivational techniques make her classes very sought after as well. Rosie Orlandos overall fitness knowledge is excellent, and, her Zumba classes are not only rigorous but fun. Laura Cisco is one of the most beautiful dancers in the Hamptons. The Y is incredibly lucky to have her as an instructor and all of those little budding ballerinas will remember her through their growing years and cherish the time spent with her learning this most beautiful art form. The staff, from Chris and Mark at the front desk, to Kevin and Magnolia who keep the place in tip top shape, are terrific. While the Y facility itself is sorely in need of a redesign it is the staff that makes it such an extraordinary place. It is a true community center that successfully reaches out to all with programs and classes that accommodate toddlers to seniors. It is a warm, inviting and absolutely non-judgmental place to come and take care of oneself. I recommend it highly.

I would like to thank the East Hampton YMCA RECenter both personally and professionally! I joined the Y about 10 years ago and will never forget walking in that first morning to take an aerobics class. It took every ounce of courage I had to walk into that back room. Having struggled with my weight my entire life, I was fearful that I would be judged or ridiculed. I entered the room and made sure to stand way in the back and close to the door so that if and when I realized that I could not keep up, I would be able to sneak out. Well… that one class literally changed my whole life- the instructor- the Y’s fitness director Rosie Orlando intuitively knew that I wanted to stay invisible- she didn’t draw attention to me or offer up platitudes- “Come on New Girl- you can do it!” She just gave me a little smile in the mirror and started the class- it wasn’t easy- I am sure I was 50 shades of purple- but I made it to the end of that first class and showed up the next day and the day after that- in a few months’ time I had moved myself out of the back corner by the door and felt like I had found a home!I went on to train for and compete in triathlons and was inspired to start an empowerment program for adolescent girls through the sport of triathlon, called i-tri. Without the support of the East Hampton YMCA this program would have NEVER had a chance- today we are in 4 different schools and will be training close to 100 girls from the East End (MIND-BODY and SPIRIT) to compete in a youth distance triathlon! Our community is a better place because of the Y and the talented and dedicated staff that bring the place to life!
