This town fascinates me a lot, because its houses and buildings are old, it is like being in the past, a town with tranquility and very clean.

Just saw Because of Winn Dixie. What a great show!! We have been going to all the shows at Goodspeed for 26 years and look forward to many more. It is a wonderful venue for a show.

I’ve attended 2 shows at the theater in East Haddam. The musical I saw last night was Unforgettable! Evan Tyrone Martin beautifully led us through the life of the late, great Nat King Cole. What an incredible voice Mr Martin has. It’s the first time Artist Lounge has worked with The Good Speed and I pray that it’s the first of many great performances by this collaboration. Thank you so much.

Beautiful six-storey opera house that has not hosted any operas. But is famous for launching a number of musicals and went on to become major successes at Broadway including Annie. Did not get to experience a musical this time but hope to return soon.

Because of Winn Dixie is a feel-good play for all! Small town story with a big city message. Excellent singing. Chloe Cheers, in the role of Amanda, is especially inspiring. Beautiful story and singing all around!

Very neat old building with great view of the river from the small outside balcony. They put on nice performances. There are some seating areas that have a limited view.

I would encourage everyone to watch a play the Goodspeed Opera House. It is such a nice local venue and they do such a good job with the acting, the singing, the performance in general, the orchestra, the venue... everything works and its surprisingly affordable! I have visited several times and I am looking forward to my next visit.To make it even better, the town has such a unoqur character. It is really pleasant to spend some time walking around the town and finish the day with a nice play at the Goodspeed Opera House.

We honeymooned up in the Northeast (in 2015) and first went to Goodspeed during that trip! We loved our experience and the show we saw so much that the next time we found ourselves up that way (2018), we made a special trip to see another show there! Such a cute theater with great choices in musicals.

Because of Winn Dixie was amazing!!! We laughed and we cried and we felt uplifted and hopeful! I cant wait to see it again!! What a talented cast and crew and Bowdie stole the showLook out Broadway Winn Dixie is coming!!!

If you enjoy musical theatre, there is no better place. Goodspeed is the home of the American musical. Theyve sent 21 shows to Broadway (as of 2016) and they produced ANNIE. They produce some of the best regional theatre in the country. The Goodspeed Opera House is a beautiful historic building, and the location is breathtakingly beautiful. Dont miss Goodspeed Musicals if you are visiting Connecticut. It is the top artistic attraction in the state.

This is one of Connecticuts hidden gems. Broadway quality musicals on the banks of the Connecticut River. Its a lovely place to stroll around, and weve been members for many years and have never seen a bad show.

Such history, I recommend the back stage tour.

Have been a subscriber for many years. Productions in general have been excellent with few exceptions. The historic setting of the theater, and its building overlooking the Connecticut River make for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I heartily recommend the Goodspeed to all who love good theater in a wonderful atmosphere

A very special place - beautiful theater, great and picturesque location. Beware a LOT of stairs - even to get to orchestra seats. They put on extremely well choreographed and professional productions. Highly recommended!

Oh my gosh - you cannot beat seeing a show at the Goodspeed. The theater is small, intimate and every seat gives you a clear view of the stage. Yes, there is a majestic stair case to take you up to orchestra seating, but just around the bend there is also an elevator - The staff is extremely accommodating to your every need. The most important aspect is the quality of the shows - I have not seen one show in the many years of attending that was not top notch from the acting, choreography, staging, singing, costumes- all with a live orchestra - Broadway at its best!Just attended Thoroughly Modern Millie - a funtastic show - full of great music, comedy and superb acting - Highly recommend you put this wonderful old opera house on your bucket list - you wont be disappointed!

Got to meet a few actors for workshops before the show and got to see them after the show!! The musical Will Rogers and the Follies was great AMAZING SHOW!!

I was very disappointed when the performance of Cyrano I was to attend was canceled due to an actor pulling out. They do not have any understudies. Only a generic email was sent to inform us. This is not a way to create or keep patrons.
