Bought a pool from At Home Rec., used an installer suggested by them and THIS is what were left with. After finally reaching Tim, the installer-owner of About time installation, he tells us to use screws, put them in the top of each of the plastic pieces to secure them to the top rail,....of our brand new pool?? NO!! Called the store and got more nonsense, after a few conversations Im told that we should take off all the defective caps and bring them in,.....NO! We paid a decent amount of money for both the pool and professional installation, I should not have to screw into the plastic caps OR take them apart and bring them to the store,....terrible customer service!

First time pool purchase (5/23). Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. No pressure. Had it delivered on date promised.Still no luck with finding an installer though. At Home Rec will give you a list of places but its on you to find someone to assemble and install. This can be overwhelming if you dont know the first thing about the process. In hindsight, I wish I looked into having an install date before purchasing. I wish they had a streamline system where they could arrange installation for you at an added price. I just hope the summer doesnt pass by before I get this thing set up.

Very disappointed with At Home RecreationWe have been trying for 3 years now to replace parts on our pool. We have emailed, faxed, called and even went to the store to try and get some help.This is a real shame we are being lead down the path of contacting the better business bureau and when courts open I am guessing a civil suit.This is a shame they took our money and we cant even get what we paid for. We just want the parts to fix our pool.Shame on this business, any help will be greatly appreciated.

We purchased a pool at the Brick location and was only going in for the salt water pool. We talked with salesman Frank and was told that there was 18 inches in stock and went right to the computer to purchase. He was having computer troubles and had to enter our information in several times, but we signed and thought it was done. We received it today and it wasnt the one that was sold to us. It was the one on the receipt however due to the computer issues. I spoke with the manager and I was told to stop b...... and he was laughing at me. This is no way to treat a customer. We paid for installers to come to the house already and this is so upsetting. Shame to this manager for laughing at me and calling me names! I will never shop there again!!!!

Ed was great today! He put together our new pump n filter for us since we threw away our old tank last season. He is friendly n so helpful! Go see Ed at East Brunswick store n have a safe swimming pool season!!

Always have my water tested here. No charge no matter how often you come. Give good advice. Dont try to oversell. Prices reasonable. Fully stocked. People are great.

Went to new store today to return a leaf retriever that did not work on my pool. Bought it 2 days ago along with a leaf retrieving net and a new pole. Box was ripped open and receipt was thrown away. They took my tel# and credit card when I bought it. The manager who I will say is running a tight ship as far as safety is concerned first asked for receipt and packaging when I told him I didn’t have either he informed me that he can’t take it back. After an hour of trying to get this thing to work yesterday and then cleaning the pool full of leaves with the hand net and pole this was not what I wanted to hear. $24 is nothing to me and it’s even less to a multi million dollar company. I informed him I would just switch it out I’ll take a new broom for the pool and he Was adamant said no and said that he could not sell my returned object in its present form that I used it. I have never had a problem with any worker in this place over the years and they have always been nothing but solid to me and the countless people I direct to them. Please do not write back unless you plan on letting me come back and return your faulty leaf retriever. Yes water does flow through, but it did not work in my pool. I never write bad reviews, but this was a principle issue. Bad look.

I have to be honest, we didnt buy anything during our visit. This being our first visit, we just browsed and was very impressed by the huge store and inventory. Prices seem better then other pool stores weve dealt with in the area. Once the company completes their relocation, we will FOR SURE stop in and stock up on our pool needs.

Once again top notch service from At Home Recreation. Jass was very professional, knowledgeable and assisted me with all my questions. Staff like her leaves a lasting impression to your customers.I highly recommend everyone to shop here. Prices are excellent, service is excellent and plenty of supplies and merchandise.Coming from Hamilton, NJ is a drive away but worth every mile.

I would not buy anything from C.R. plastics from this website online. My first order went well, the second order came in the wrong color even though the description was the same as the first order. They refunded that order but the next order then sent was still incorrect and they refused to refund the second order even though the mistake was on their end. Order from Patio Living went much smoother and their website contains all the color options.

Excellent buying experience with no pressure. This was our first pool purchase and the salesman was very courteous and helpful!! Outlined everything we needed and gave us detailed information about getting through the required inspections.

After moving this store to new location on rt 18,Sales associate girls don’t know what to tell after testing the water sample also they are inpatient with customers questions i don’t recommend this store

Bought 15×21 pool, liner started leaking from day. I went to the store, they will reimburse only if I empty the water and show them piece of liner that is leaking. Never again. I need to spend money from my pocket and fix it otherwise pool will sink soon.

We purchased an above ground pool and the employee who helped us was patient with us and very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. Because they were not reliable

Went to the East Brunswick Store on Sunday 4/28/19. We were looking to purchase a new liner for our 5 year old pool. Jessica (Jass) was available to help us and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely knowlegable, she helped us figure out what went wrong with our current liner, fading so fast. She took her time listened to all our questions and concerns. She explained how all the chemicals were working and gave us suggestions, so we would not experience the same issues with the new liner. We purchased the new liner on sale as well as a light for the pool and a fountain all with her help. We were so grateful for her, patience and guidance as well as the tips for changing the liner ourselves. Unfortunately it was her last day at the East Brunswick store. She was transferring to the Brick store but gave us her card if we ever needed her help. I hope At Home Recreation realizes what a wonderful and courteous employee they have and strive to have all their employees follow Jessicas example.

If you are looking for pool or spa chemicals, look nowhere else. They have hands down the best prices anywhere, even ordering online.Their spa department is great at selling spas, but not particularly helpful when it comes to aftercare. The service department has extremely limited hours and is reachable via voice mail only. If you go to the store for help, they ask you to call their voicemail. Thats not very customer friendly.They sell two kinds of spas - Royal and Viking. Cant speak to the former, but Id stay away from the Viking ones. I bought one in May, had it installed in June, and come late August, the ozonator already went out, the heater is intermittent, and changing the filter is messy. They also lure you in with a 6-year warranty, but dont mention its heavily prorated after year 2 and does not include trip charges.So, looking for supplies, this is your place. Looking for a spa - read the reviews for Viking spas first.

Talk of a lot of different items. It is a huge Pool Store. However with having things in stock you also pay for it as our prices are considerably higher than those on Amazon and the internet. But you pay for convenience. Compared to the Leslies also located less than a mile away they have more stock and similar pricing and more knowledgeable people. What they should do is take off the labels from prior years because it shows you that things have been sitting in their stock for two or three years not that it matters as it is screws for example for a filter. But they purchased the item three years ago and it marked it up every year even though they purchased it 3 years ago. Be careful of buying off-brand items such as backwash hose. I bought the off brand which was very inexpensive however it fell apart and it was a poor quality

Very slow after they moved to the new location

At around 9 a.m., after politely saying Excuse me, I asked a young, white Caucasian employee Where is the bathroom? Immediately, he gave me a mean look, said it is halfway, and then turned towards the tv (his back was facing me). I was puzzled, and disgusted. Instead of wasting my time, I immediately walked away and exited the store. Because there was nothing open in the vicinity, I was forced to walk all the way to the dollar tree, which is a long distance, because the car was still being worked on at an auto shop not far from it. As someone who is Asian-American and disabled, I found his professionalism repulsive. Management can try to place blame on me all they want. But the facts mentioned above can never be disputed.

The luck of responsibility makes it impossible to deal with At Home Recreation.I purchased above ground pool last August and was promised by Terry that Paul from Precision pool installers is a wonderful person who did such a wonderful job for other people and he can recommend him.Paul installed pool and before he left we found cigarettes on our deck and garbage including coffee cups on our driveway.It was a bad sign and sure enough after few days we stepped in to the pool and found out that bottom was very soft. It was a replacement and our previous pool was very firm and absolutely flat.After few weeks we could see a lot of pot holes and worst, there was big dent in lining around metal belt that supposed be buried in sand but it was not and could cut the lining at any time.When I called Paul he told me that he will fix it next Saturday. When I called him Friday the day before, he told me that I call with to short notice. So, I ask what would be next time he said next Saturday. I said OK can you text me that date with appointment. He said that he des not text (hard to believe).Mean while Terry from At Home Recreation told me that I will need new lining and I need to come and pick it up, pay for it and then they will give me a refund if I send them cut of the old one. Then he changed version that I can purchase one cheaper from another vendor.When I asked Paul the installer to get the lining he told me that he values his time and he will not do it because it says in his company’s hand book that he does not pick up any materials.The problem is that he never show to me his company’s handbook or even give me a formal receipt for my cash payment right after installation.I value my time as well but I will ask my lawyer how much he will charge At Home recreation and Paul from Precision Pool Installers for his time?Needles to say these two companies are almost a scam.This is the worst business I dealt with since a long time.They do not have high rating but do not deserve even that 3 stars they have.Everybody can make a mistake but the way they handle it is unacceptable.I will post an update on situation (also to BBB) so stay tuned.This is how our pool looks like. They told me to drain it. But is not fixed and we can not close it for winter.

I wasted a lot of money there, their recommendation is not correct, better learn from your friend, price of chemical is not very good. I got my chemical from ocean state job lot.

Buyer beware. I was upsold on a pool cover and told it would be fully covered and returnable the following season should anything go wrong. They did not honor that promise and said there was nothing they could do for me. Then they tried to sell me another cover!!!!!Sent them an email over a month ago requesting a phone call back that went unresponded. The only reason theyll respond to this is because it improves their Google searchability if they comment on every post. So.... their responses here are not genuine- theyre just trying to improve their SEO ( search engine optimization).

The water test is free and they always make sure we get what we need for our pool & hot tub!!

Loved the store and the people working there! Overall a very positive experience and worth the trip. I only wish they would open a store closer to where I live but for the monies I saved this past pool season on chemicals alone. I will definitely be back next season! I have purchased Thousands of dollars from both Branchburg (which definitely was the higher end of both stores) and At Home recreation big money for cheap garbage that wont last a season. Consumers please due your due diligence . I have dealt with Tim several times knowledgeable and a good guy. I made a large purchase and rented a van to pick up everything that I have ordered from there store on rt36 south Hazlet/Middletown location, only to come to find the day my pool installer came to install my new filter, there was No new filter in the box it was filled with thousands of dollars in pool merchandise. They did send someone out to pick up the box of pool merchandise immediately and brought me another filter later on the next day, only to find out it was the wrong filter his second time out I made countless phone calls, several trips back and forth to the store and was without a pool for one week in the height of the season all because of there incompetence. I am a stand up guy, I did the right thing and returned everything that I did not pay for. I was not only inconvenienced but I did incur costs along the way that I expected to be compensated for. Nothing ever came of it I spoke to Tom several times left countless voice mails for him I even stopped by the Headquarters at the East Brunswick Location to try and get some sore of compensation and nothing.This is not a way to deal or handle a Loyal customer that has spent thousands of dollars in your stores over the years. Tom your father would be very sadden and upset with you. He would have done the right thing!

Ive been to several Pool stores. I have several in my neighborhood. HOWEVER, there are NONE like AT HOME RECREATION. So I get in my car and travel The distance just for there store. The service from staff is Tops. The selection of products is Awesome and Pricing is the Best. Yeahhhh At Home Recreation.

We are working to get our filter repaired (luckily we have a friend helping out) Tim was pleasant and willing to help us out and offered some solutions in the meantime to help ensure the pool water doesnt turn into a secondary headache in the meantime. NOTE: My initial review of the in-store CSRs and experience as a long-time returning customer is still true - but we are happy that someone in Management cared enough to respond and help us out. .ORIGINAL REVIEW: Gets worse each year!! We are finally at our breaking point. Weve been customers since At Home Recreation opened this East Brunswick location. We purchased our above ground pool here years back. We went in this past week after opening our pool to purchase chemicals and look for help on fixing our pool filter which apparently some sort of seal broke. We made it quite clear to the CSR that my husband was not mechanical and did not feel comfortable trying to fix it himself. The guy sold us the parts anyway and told us we could watch YouTube or leave it and not get it back for about 2 weeks. WTH??? When I go to my auto mechanic for a brake job and and he is booked up - he doesnt hand me some parts and tells me to go home and YouTube my brake job. Good Lord! It wouldnt take a lot for the person to look us up in their system and see we are long-time At Home customers . Clearly you dont value us or our loyalty. We understand this is your busy season - but cmon guys, you need to be more prepared with better and more helpful staffing. Im sure there are some good retired mechanics out there that wouldnt mind moonlighting if you are THAT backed up with repairs. In the meantime you need address the staff that interact with your customers. I noticed everyone in the place looks less than thrilled to have to help paying customers through the door.

This place bought out the old Branch Brook pools. They have everything you need from pools to parts to toys & chemicals under one big roof.

Liner came defective so we have to pay for new one, wait for refund, pay for new water, salt, & opening chemicals. We purchased a hot tub too. At or about 10,000 dollars spent here and really no better solution to reimburse us being offered for selling a defective product to us. We spent a fortune remodeling our yard and now we get to spend unnecessary money bc of a faulty liner. So aggravating & shocker its a beautiful MDW & we have an empty pool.

They need to work on setting expectations to their customers. I was mislead to purchase over 100s dollars worth of chemicals that my pool would turn from green to blue. I (average no time for nothing person can expect if paying that much money this will work ASAP) Nope. I went to east Brunswick store 72 hours later and was told they dont guarantee nothing, Anthony the manager mentioned that it is normal and its a hit or miss that these chemicals will work and that customers come back after messing with chemical frequently with in same week. Nope not me, ill go else where dont have that time or money to be spending. When asked him for a consideration to buy what ever else they had recommended he refused, not what the company does. IDK Mr. Owner your customers are the foundation of your company so just think about that.

Helpful crew but they dont price match

Where to begin!? Our first pool buying experience and we thought buying a pool should be painless and fun. It was far from it. We bought a 12x18 non-buttress pool upgraded liner and everything else. At Home Revreation first delivered pool with out all the parts. They forgot the upgraded stainless steel panel. They dropped it off the next day. Not sure as I was not home at the time. Then found 3 baby mice in with me of the boxes. Ok. Fun. Then they recommended the pool installer, this guy is a fly by nighter. Worst pool install. The stainless steal panel where it bolts to rest of the pool was to aligned with the upright supports, He fixed it by folding the edges back under the uprights. Now the uprights do not sit flush with the pool. Then go to find out the wrong liner was sent to us for different type of pool. Ten go to find out the liner we originally wanted was not available. So they sent us another liner. Wow!! Then pool installer (same guy btw) came at 530am to install the liner, really!!?? 530 am!! Wow. Then said it was all done. I paid him almost 1k to install pool. After it filled up that day. I noticed more then a dozen wrinkles and some spots that looks like sand is indented in. Then to top it off the skimmer leaks and the plastic accent covers on the rail are all loose. Just wow. I realize this is nothing to do with AtHome except the liner issue. But the recommended this installer. Do they not check references!!? He was first on the list. The installers name is Jeff.Long review. But not a pleaeent experience at all

Pool was installed by about time services when filled and the filter was on the return hose leaked. Four calls to the installer and three to the store and the assistant manager said why dont you fix it yourself. Instead of getting in touch with the installer and getting him to fix it that was his advice. Service apparently doesnt count for diddly squat these days. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy

I am ready to by an above ground pool and heard that as of Monday the company Swim in Play is going out of business. Is this true?How will they warranty the pool if anything goes wrong??EDIT ***HERE IS THE FLYER
