With six tennis courts (hard courts), Garrett Road Park is a great public park for tennis folks. Although there is a parking lot, its pretty small, so if everyone is playing doubles, it can be a tight fit. The courts are nice, and theres a backboard on one court if youre playing solo. Theyre popular courts, with USTA teams reserving courts for league play, so it may be hard to find a court at peak times.

Tennis courts were very nice, but the facilities left something to be desired.

Shaded woods in a part of Durham lacking in city park facilities. Primary draw is tennis courts. The small playground is trying for some type of natural play. For some reason the pond is fenced off, although still filled with trash.

If you love tennis than this is the place for you! About 90% of this park is taken up by endless tennis courts because the demand for tennis, as we all know, is that intense. If youre in the mood for a nice afternoon stroll on the walking path, then youre in luck. This walking path stretches a whopping 32nd of a mile and dead ends right into traffic. Yes sir! If you make it across the several lanes of traffic, you can continue onto a sidewalk and keep walking as far as you want! The fun doesnt stop there. This park has a fully stocked pond that you cant fish in or even approach. There is a small but nice little play area for the kids that even has a creepy guy that lives in a tent just a few feet away. If nature calls, do not worry because this park as nice restrooms that are always locked. You can count on that! Make sure you bring the whole family and make a day of it. You will not be disappointed!

Fairly small park. Tennis courts and a paltry playground. There are better laces but this one tends to be empty if youre looking for some outdoor solitude.

My favorite place to play tennis despite the pickle ball lines being the same color as the service lines.

This small park does NOT have what youd call a playground. It has a plastic tire swing, an old, metal jungle gym that looks like a rotten cheeseburger on stilts, a two ring spinning bar you stand or sit on and twirl around and a short rope climbing thing thats maybe 6 inches off the ground. Theres a multiple tennis court area, a picnic table shelter with a grill and a super short paved walking trail. Thats it. Nothing else. The photos that have been posted here showing a fun playground are lies. Thats definitely a different place.

Im confused. I saw pictures on google that showed a REAL PLAYGROUND and we couldnt find it to save our lives. We followed the map and all we found was a sad little area with one tire swing, a short rope climbing thingy, and zero kids. Bummer.

Has a pokemon gym, small playground for kids and tennis nets. It gets a 3 from me because the bathrooms were locked on a saturday afternoon, and the one open portapottie was not fit for children to use without parental supervision.
