Carolina Aquatic Team demonstrates an amazing balance between competitive swimming and sportsmanship. As a swimmer in the senior group I have had a pleasure of getting to know all of our coaches. Their dedication to each individual swimmer never fails to amaze me. I enjoy coming to practice everyday because I know all my teammates and I have the same goals and that is to become better swimmers, but also better people. This team in my eyes is a second family. I highly recommend this team for all ages and all levels of swimming capability.

I have been swimming with this team for the lowest time I can think. Im not the fastest swimmer, but that doesnt mean I love the team. Coach Chris, the senior coach and my current coach, has helped me so much of owning my swimming and helping me become a much faster swimmer. His coaching style may not help everyone, but it works. He has set records with his swimmers. Im so glad he can coach me. Coach Josh gives me nothing but positivity. Josh is a very excellent head coach as the transition was only smooth when he became head coach. My team mates are nothing but encouraging and I love them all dearly. this team is amazing and would never ask for another one

Ive been swimming on this team for 11 years now and my experience has been nothing but positive and uplifting. The coaching staff is excellent, and do a great job of helping the swimmers grow as both a swimmer and an individual. The head coach Josh has been on the team for as long as I can remember, even coaching me when I was in AG2. Hes always had the teams best interests at heart, and his supportive and kind nature is loved by both swimmers and parents alike. In addition his wife, Kristen, has done an incredible job of creating a family type atmosphere where everyone on the team supports each other. The amount of support Ive recieved from teammates and teammates over the years has been pivotal in helping me become a better swimmer. Through this team Ive gained lifelong friends, and a swim family I know Ill always be apart of. I couldnt imagine having the same experience on any other club team.

This is an amazing team with awesome coaches. The team is like one big family that supports each other in and outside the pool. We just had a swimmer lose a parent and the parents and swimmers from CAT have surrounded that family with love and support. As for the coaches, they push the swimmers to find their strengths within the sport and then help them to set goals, strive for them, and obtain them. We love this team!!

As a parent with a teen daughter whos been in the senior group for several years with Coach Chris, I am troubled by the character assassination of the coaches from swim mom, and question the motives of someone who feels compelled to lash out anonymously on social media. It must be noted that every club and every coach face unique challenges and have room for improvement. Our club is no different. But Ive seen Coach Chris use swim experiences to teach valuable life lessons that will follow the kids long after they hang up their goggles. Chris has a keen understanding of and dedication to this sport and is sincerely committed to helping each child reach his potential. I am grateful for the opportunity my daughter has had to be a part of this sport and this team.

As a former coach and NCAA Division I collegiate swimmer myself, I can attest to the following: CAT is the dominant year round club in the Durham and middle/northern Orange County region, and the best choice for competitive (and pre-competitive) swimming families in our area. Their full time coaches are technically knowledgeable and enjoy sharing that knowledge. With more location and group options than any other local team, CAT goes out of its way to simultaneously service and develop the ultra competitive and elite swimmers as well as those who are looking for an intermediate commitment level. My children have been swimming for this team for 5 years and have not only grown tremendously in their swimming abilities and self confidence, but have also developed friendships that will last a lifetime.

This team is run by children, aka, Josh Weaver and Chris Pierson. Chris Pierson has no control over his swimmers. He lets them run amuck at the pools that they use, leaving them trashed and dirty after theyre done. He does not know how to identify sexual harassment and bullying within his team. If he does, he doesnt do anything about it. Probably because the guilty parties are his star swimmers. Dont expect to be coached if you arent a star swimmer, or male. Josh Weaver doesnt know how to deal with real issues, hes to busy working on his image, that really isnt that great considering the way his swimmers act. Dont join this team. There are much better teams in the area.
