I would like to say that Monty was of awesome service to our family today. We arent golfers (in the least), but he provided our entire family a nice tour of the front 9. We saw a deer cross the course, and two wild turkeys on the golf cart ride. We learned that they are looking at starting a Junior League in May, for 8-13 year olds (I think thats right?), and weve been asking our oldest two what sports (if any) theyre interested in. Mini-golf was the first of any sign theyve really showed an interest in something, and so we may explore the Junior League here as well. Thank you Monty for doing what you did for our family, it is greatly appreciated!

They have redone many greens on this course that are excelkent. There is plentu of grass on the fairways and in the rough. There is a nice driving range to warm up with and an excellent putting green. My only complaint is a lack of sand in some of the sand traps. Very nice staff so give it a try.

Course is on its way to becoming excellent. A couple greens had some issues mainly around the edges but nothing major. Golf course defends par well with tight fairways and slick greens. Im sorry to say that this course has gone way downhill from how it played last year. Its a Goat track, so hard, tee boxes had almost no grass and plenty of pebbles. Fairways could be decent at times, but far from fantastic. Traps? Ugh, mud puddles in the middle and cement everywhere else. Greens? Well the nicest part were the fringe. Hard and bumpy. The location is great, only 1 house visible from the course. I do feel the layout is nice, some holes are nicely laid out. Still disappointed about the condition.I know you guys are discuss with an agronomist to make things better. This review is for recent play.

I give this course a 4 star strictly based off the comparison of other courses at its price point.Although this course is short in terms of yardage, it demands all different shots, and club selections from tee to green. The course in nestled in the woods with no houses. On numerous occasions I have seen deer & wild turkey on the course. If part of your golf enjoyment is enjoying the nature setting, than this could be a great course experience for youIf you are stickler about the condition and maintainince of a golf course, this is not your course. Being a public course and with their current price point. This course does not receive much help from their players on course repairs, and clean up. On numerous occasions the golf carts will not have their sand bottles filled, which doesn’t help matters much.18 holes$25.00-$35.00 is a good price point for this track at this time. Paying anything over this you may be disappointed.Course has great potential just lacking in consistent maintenance.

This course has really been improving the last few years. Love to go. The staff are great, and the tee times are pretty easy to get and theyll split between the front and back nine to keep the pace moving. All the staff from the greens keepers to the shop are fabulous. Last week, the man working on one of the greens stopped in passing just for me to finish a putt. Thought that was super professional and kind. Love that Falls feels like a big family youre welcome in to, regardless of skill level.

This course is now one of my favorites to play in the area. The course is in the best condition Ive seen, the greens are perfect, firm and fast. Fairways and tee boxes are in great condition, and the layout is very challenging from all tee positions. The only weak spot are the bunkers which the manager is looking to address to help speed up play. The staff are great and always welcoming.A fun course to spend the day playing. Played the course June 23rd (2014) -- Monday. Great condition compared to a year (and more) ago. Staff was pleasant and eager to please. Marshall was on the course and worked to keep the pace reasonable. Many workers out maintaining the course and they stopped their machines and turned off the engines while players hit their balls. More grass on the fairways than Ive ever seen at Falls Village before. The tee boxes and greens are in great shape. New golf carts are a wonderful improvement. Ill keep playing there -- senior rates are great.

Based on all the recent reviews the course is junk. Unfortunately I have a GroupGolfer voucher to use. So despite the terrible reviews I called the course. Asked how the course condition is this week and the girl that answered was obviously clueless as to what I was asking. Clearly no basic knowledge of golf and when she could not answer simple questions about the course condition she gave me an attitude about it. Wow, way to run a business. Plenty of courses in the area, don’t bother with this one.

Fairways were in good shape. Best Ive played on all season, since they were overseeded with rye. However greens and bunkers were another situation. Some spots on the greens, even around the cup, looked like they tried to get the grass to seed over a slag driveway. And a couple of the bunkers had filter fabric showing and were literally hard as a rock. Pictured is what happens when you play the ball as it lie in a greenside bunker. Thanks FV

What a terrible looking course. Granted it just rained Friday but my 4-some lost about 8 balls in the bunker because of the HUGE muddy puddles in them. We played on Sunday. Greens Superintendent should probably take a pay cut or be fired. The fairways were brutal. Weeds and crabgrass with a mix of dirt.Enough of the course so I can move onto the clubhouse. It was a busy Sunday on a public course with no cart girl to supply beverages or snacks. Cant bring coolers so you would think you could provide some refreshments. Not only was there no cart girl, the grill at the clubhouse wasnt open. No food?!?! You have got to be kidding me. You are missing out on a huge opportunity to make some money. My 4-some wouldve bought a 12-pack and 6 hot dogs. We were just 4 guys with a tee sheet of 100?This place wont be open next year

Was there a couple weekends ago, and its in better shape than Ive seen in a long time. If you are looking for Pinehurst quality, then you should go to Pinehurst. The course is not in great shape. Fairways had issues but it was more the greens. They were missing grass all around the edges, two kinds of grass on some, they were not in good shape. (some concrete bunkers too) If you can play for a discount, $20 to 25, play there, but I would not pay regular price until they get the place fixed up.

Je
Review №78

This is a course that is extremely challenging and not well maintained. I have played the course multiple times in the fall months and have lost tee shots just because they rolled off the fairway. They let the rough grow out and there are leaves all over the place. It also has very tight fairways. If you cannot drive the golf ball straight I would not suggest going to this golf course. There are plenty of other options in the area with wide fairways. If you are looking to challenge yourself with a tight layout this place isnt too bad. Unfortunately, it is a little bit high priced for the lack of maintenance. Also, the greens were never in great shape when I played this course. That is something to consider when deciding to play Falls Village.

De
Review №79

Where do I start? Do you like nice greens? Do you like greens that roll true? Do you like grass on tee boxes? If you answered yes to any of the previous questions, then Falls Village is NOT for you. Its truly sad how Falls Village conditions have deteriorated over the years. What was once a fun course to play has become an absolute joke. When calling I was told, There are a couple of greens with heat stress, but theyre rolling really well besides that. Haha...I WISH that was actually true. Now dont get me wrong - they were correct about some of the greens having heat stress (i.e. only having grass cover ~40% of the green) but the decent greens were still a joke. They were dinged up, spongy, slow, and bumpy on every single roll. If you pay anything more than about $20, just go ahead and flush that money down the toilet...at least youd be able to see yourself throw away money instead of gradually losing it over the course of 18 holes. Fun layout, but a disaster of course condition. Keep scrolling to other golf courses if youre looking on golfnow/online. Youll be happy you did.

8/2017 Update - Issues with the traps are well documented so I wont dwell. They are what they are and never will be playable during a season with rain. Grass growing better than it did before the changes from a couple yrs ago and of course a course without homes is a huge bonus. Now I get the sense the staff has given up. For example they have two huge practice greens but only two flags and Saturday I think 3 holes cut. Hot dogs used to be grilled now they are, I dont even how to describe the quality of the dogs and burgers for a premium price. Few working ball washers. At least the carts were clean this time. Details matter.----------------------------At a time where they clearly need revenue its hard to understand whats going on. For example last tuesday I tried to buy range balls at 6:32 PM. The club house is locked up. Front and back, cant even go inside to buy a beer or soda much less range balls. I counted 31 cars in teh parking lot and 10 people on the range. Did the pro just decide to lock up and play golf? The best thing about the course is how there are no houses on it! Given the tree lined fairways you often feel like your the only group on the course. Greens were alittle rough last weekend. Surprised as usually this time of year they are harder and less easily damaged by ball marks. I would have voted 4 stars except for the above.

Ki
Review №82

At a time when the golf industry needs more golfers, Falls Village does what it can to drive off business. And that is exactly why I nor my company will ever host a pair, foursome, or tournament here.On this past weekend, I went to practice on the range, only to get hassled bystaff. I go to buy 2 baskets of balls because the baskets have shrunk by 50% in the last 3 years (more on that another time). And the pro shop staff tells me they can only sell me 1 basket. If this is a policy it is absurd, but I am not sure it is strictly enforce, because I know guys have purchased multiple baskets for the range, including myself as soon as 3 weeks ago.I tell him my coach is on the way, so can I get one for him. He tells me no, and my coach cant teach me anything on their range because it conflicts with their Staff pros business. I tell him coach isnt charging me, he is just a friend trying to help me out and he insists we will be run off if he is coaching on their range. I have seen countless people giving advice to other golfers on the range. Again, I am not sure if this is policy of just another way to run off certain patrons. On any occassion, I left and went to Hillandale Golf Course. Fran, Carl, and Joe were more than welcoming, and even gave a few pointers, in the midst of preparing for a tournament that day.So my lesson this weekend is, if you want to get a fair deal and try to enjoy a day of golf (practicing or playing) Falls Village is not the place.

Absolutely horrible pace of play, its one thing to be learning the game but a 4aome that averages 20yds a hit with no ranger to push them along is unacceptable. Management was rude and corse looked like it had not been watered since 2010. Tee boxes had more sand than grass and felt like concrete. God help you if you fell off the fairway. Told the staff about the pace of play and they said Ill let the manager know tomorrow. Will never go back.
