As a photographer Im always looking for new spots for sessions. I love Scioto Park because you can get gorgeous photos with the river in the background and its a much less popular spot and less crowded. Theres tons of trees and shade and also a playground for kids.

Scioto Park is a nice little quiet place for a quick little getaway for those who like the outdoors.The major draw of the park is the Chief Leatherlips Monument. The Chief is a major part of local history for his ability to negotiate with the white settlers moving into the area. The nickname Leatherlips came from the settlers because he was known to always keep his word. Ironically, the statue has no lips at all.You can actually climb to the top of the statue and look out over the Scioto River. Its a great photo opp.BONUS! The statue is completely wheelchair accessible.Theres a huge open field for those who want to play catch, or a little touch football. Ive seen people training their dogs there and having great fun. During the winter its a great sledding hill for the kids and those who are kids at heart. There are plenty of picnic tables and a couple of large pavilions for gatherings.Speaking of large pavilions, this park has amphitheater, which is occasionally used for performances by local artists during the summer.For those who like boating, canoeing, or kayaking theres easy access to the Scioto River, but the current can be strong. I advise anyone in a kayak or canoe to start out going up stream until you cant paddle anymore, then turn around and let the current take you back to your starting point.

This park is a very nice place to take a lunch and sit near the river in a shelter. There is usually a nice breeze even on the hottest days. The park is very relaxing and often there are ducks floating on the water.

Great road side park that we happened upon. Has picnic area and pavilion, plus restrooms. Also had nice river that you could sit by and relax.

What a lovely park. Very easily accessible right next to main road, all clean and well maintained, washrooms are spotless, water refill station and of course amazing view. So quiet and relaxing, not many people at all, very chill atmosphere and beautiful nature.Loved this place! Would come back any time I’m around the area.

It was dark when I got there, however, with alil improvision, it worked ok. So basically, its a Stone Face! But its pretty cool. Something different for the area.

Very nice place! Plenty of shelter houses, places to grill food, large playground equipment for children, good shade and climb able trees.

It was a really neat little stop. Beautiful area. Well taken care of. There were lots of others who stopped to see it as well. Its worth a few minutes to get out and stretch. Leatherlips!

It is a nice place to have an outside gathering. Good size shelters, lots of areas for kids to play.

Very nice. Great shelters, nice playground. Volleyball area, and the leatherlips monument is cool. Recommend reserving the shelters.

Been 2 park many times. Great park 2 take children,playground,shelter 4 picnics.Fun 2 take dogs in early morning. Meet up with other canine friends

The park was little but cute. There was some litter but I blame people for that not the park. Please be respectful amd pick up after yourself. They have a beautiful stage area that would be a great place for a wedding ceremony.

Beautiful, easy access part. Great for family photos! As a young kid, my extended family had a photo shoot here. I eventually had my senior portraits here and most recently-a maternity photo shoot. They have good playground equipment and the part is well maintained. In the summer live music- which can be a fun activity for the family!

The place was great. Perfect for our yoga event!

The park was very pretty for my daughters first birthday. However, the park canceled my reservations 3 days before the party because of covid and said the shelter was still on a first come first serve if we wanted to use it. Since it was such short notice we still went during our reserved time. At 2 pm another family came saying they had the same shelter reserved from 2-4. They were never told that their reservation was canceled. Extremely upset with the rental office at this point!

Nice park right off Riverside drive but away from the main road which avoids noise pollution. There is plenty of space for kids to play, including slides, swings etc. 3 party shelters are available that can be reserved before hand to avoid confusion . BBQ grills are also installed.There are benches near Scioto river to enjoy the view, relax and recharge away from busy life.Parking could be challenging if all 3 grilling areas are booked, but they have provided extra parking near the entrance which can also be utilized but leads to a steep walk downhill and uphill on the way back.There are no lights installed in the shelters, the park closes at sunset and it becomes very dark soon after so I would recommend getting your party finished 30 mins before sunset so there is time to clean up.

Best small park in Dublin and sawmill area. This park has kind of steep as it creates upper and down part of the park. The above part as park , face structure and kind of big sit out for movies and outdoor functions. Down part as other parking, shelter, barbecue places, kids playground and volleyball court. Best part of this park is there is river stream next to it making this park more beautiful. This place is best for family as they can do barbecue party, fishing and other sport activities.

It was beautiful to visit. There were so many people taking advantage of the beauty there and having small gatherings while we were there. We actually went for a memorial ride to this place as a couple that were friends of our friends had just been killed in a horrific freak accident. We paid our respects and took a ride home.

Great place for outing with family and friends!! Kids friendly! They can swing or slide. You can grill there and hangout! You can also enjoy reading or music riverside.

Nice park, though parking is a bit funny. Great access to the river but fishing here is difficult, the river bed is extremely rocky, the river is quite wide and shallow here. The picnic area seems nice though I’ve not used it. Nice place to take pictures.

Pleasant place to sit and relax. Kids have fun as there is a good play area. Adults can play outdoor games and enjoy their snack. Good weather can make the park visit a good day.

This was an amazing well kept park. It was a dream to play here for Sundays at Scioto. The crowd was a listening crowd and everyone from the Dublin Arts Council was so pleasant to work with!

Very clean park, and a great place to stretch your legs. Their bathrooms were clean and they also have water fountains to fill up with. Plenty of grass, if you have a dog. You can get right down to the river, but I was a little sad that there wasnt a trail. Overall it was a great place to stop.

So much to see and do for families and it is free!

Loved this park. Was wet and cold on my visit and plan on returning in better weather. Looks like a fun sledding hill going up.

Wonderful place where you can spend some time with your family and friends or by yourself. Pretty protected place. No one to harass you. They have restrooms too.

Park is good for fun activities, they have three big shelters. restrooms are clean. you can hang around side of river on benches. and great place for fishing.Only issue I see that one of shelter is hard to get in rain as there is no track ..

A beautifully done park that features multiple pavilions as well as a nice area to conduct yoga and meditation. I was not able to see any evident walking trails, which were why we visited in the first place, but the park is still well done and well kept with plenty of parking.

The kids had fun snow/mud sledding in March 2020

I think the outdoor concerts are great! We saw the Ark Band. Authentic Reggae music! A beautiful park right on the river. Fun for the whole family!

Nice Riverside Park and picnic area. You can kayak on the river. There are soccer grounds and playgrounds for friends and family.

They had 3 Shelters. Very good place for Small campaign and party. Have a small outdoor play area for kids, very well maintained. Love this place for simple picnics.

This is a lovely little park...one of those hidden jewels. Three picnic shelters, access to the river, playground equipment, and a humongous but interesting stone sculpture of Leatherlips. I dont believe there are hiking trails as it is tucked in between residences.

The warmer weather is great to host a party in one of the shelters, or to just simply play on the playground, walk along the river, or climb the famous Chief Leatgerlips statue. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain located convienently near the picnic shelters. On the upper hill, there is a stage that kids can put on their own show. There is also a secret scavenger hunt by the Dublin Art Society, which is a nice treasure, if you happen to accidentally stumble upon one of the landmarks! The only downside to this staple of Riverside Dr, is that everyone knows about it! This is especially bummer when we get a nice snow, because the hill is awesome for sledding, but too crowded, and if you get there too late in the afternoon, the snow has all been stripped, leaving only sleek grass to slide down. Overall, a great park to socialize, though!

Beautiful park with a lot to explore! Skip stones on the river shore, explore the creek life, climb a tree, dance on the stage or play at the playground... something for everyone! There are also shelters with picnic tables available.

Free Summer concerts. Easy access and plenty of FREE parking. Family friendly. Clean restrooms and easy to find restrooms. Different areas to be enjoyed by the entire family! AND easy to find. What more could you ask for in a park?!!!

Been going here since i was a child. Always been a great place. Shelters down by the river and plenty of parking, lots of free open space to play sports.
