July 2019Great day out for the kids. Was delighted to get the July offer of 2 for 1 deal. (Pay €22 online get one person in store for free.) Spend more than two hours exploring all the exhibits of the science side, they were very interactive expositions, the staff were very informative, the place was lovely and bright and clean. After a lovely lunch in the restaurant we went the urban climbing. Which was very done. Great climbing walls, fab colours and challenges with timing.

Wow what an amazing place. We visited explorium Juniors as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2under 8s.The children were mesmerised by some of the science interactive activities. They could climb and explore safely. There were many sensory and tactile activities/boards to suit ages from babies up. We loved the talking tree. The aquarium was mind blowing, children could colour a picture of a swordfish, a shark or even a clown fish and their colouring picture can then be projected on to the aquarium screen. There are so many interesting and fun activities to take part in. My 2 year old and 4 year old loved it so much they didnt want to go home.

We went on a dull Sunday morning to kill a couple of hours and stayed almost seven! Great place for kids and kids at heart to spend the day. Everything is interactive, the staff know their stuff and will explain anything the kids (you) dont understand. There were a few broken exhibits, but thats to be expected in something so hands on I suppose. The only disappointing part was the Hollywood movie section. Whilst we made the most of it, there were no staff to explain what to do and around half of the areas didnt work. However, there was more than enough elsewhere to keep us occupied. The lightning show is very cool and the gravity room was a huge hit. Next time, well get the harnesses on and go climbing, which could almost be a day out in itself. Great fun and well worth a visit!

Amazing place! Brought my two boys here after school midweek and they loved it! So full of facts, scientific experiments and magic! We were lucky as it is super quiet at this time...we were told that the weekends are mental busy! A bit pricey...food and drink is ridiculously expensive so a stop off at McDonald’s on the way home done the trick!

This is a wonderful family day out. We brought 11 and 14 year olds, and they really enjoyed themselves for about three and a half hours. They enjoyed the caving, and the climbing walls are fantastic. We all really enjoyed the very realistic VR. The highlight for us all was the lightening show, and seeing a Tesla coil in action. The kids got to learn about film making, experienced visual illusions, drew pictures that came to life on screen. They had a lot of fun. The food choices were great, with pizza cones being a big hit. Us adults were quite impressed with the quality of food in the restaurant; great choice of salads and veg and I had slightly cool salmon and husband had a tasty veggie burger. It was let down by being served on disposable plates and cutlery - they are marked as being compostable but there appeared to be no actual composting efforts. The salted caramel milkshakes were very nice also. All in all I would very much recommend Explorium. The only drawbacks are cost (a family of four can expect to spend about €250 if doing all the activities and eating), the lack of environmental awareness in the restaurant, and the fact that despite only being recently opened many of the exhibits are broken (including a very cool looking cycling 360 degree loop).

First think to note is that its not open to the public till 3 on weekdays. It has either schools or corporate events earlier on in the day.Amazing place, its huge. Would easily take more than one visit to do it all. There are areas such as the climbing, VR rooms and the man made Cave that are separate to the main science area, these arent included in the general entry but you dont need a general entry ticket to buy passes for them. The climbing is restricted to a height of 1.2 metres, and the VR is 8 old years old. There are a few other things that have restrictions such as the F1 simulator (cant remember what they are)There is also a dedicated area for under 8s which has a cheaper entry and on the weekdays adults in this area are free.Well worth the visit but be prepared to want to go again and again

Very fun for the kids and could spend a day there. Would rate higher except it’s easier to move around a prison. You have to scan over and over again. Why the scan in is not at main door and only once is beyond me. They don’t do arm bands so it’s easy to get stranded!!

Brilliant museum, definitely worth a visit. I would hardly recommend to pre book. We called in without pre booking and had to spend time filling waiver forms + it turned out to be a peak hour. It cost us €96 for 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 3 year old). Junior section is a bit cheaper, but it was all booked out on the day. Food in the restaurant was very very expensive too. In addition we were charged €6 for parking. We found the place was a bit overpriced but good day overall.

Great idea but not sure about the implementation overall. Very expensive day out for a family of 4, at least the youngest was free under 2. A lot of the exhibits werent working, not good enough considering the entrance fee, shows were sparse too, no schedule on the way in to allow planning.Didnt do the climbing walls but would come back to do that and skip the broken science exhibits. The junior area was in better condition than the science section. Overall a bit meh if it was half the price it would be a yeah!

I went here with my Dad on our holiday in Dublin. Got there early to get in quickly and being a science fan, absolutely loved it. Brilliant state-of-the-art experiments combined with the knowledge of the present day to provide relevant and intriguing exhibits. I would recommend getting there early as well as buying a pass to many of the sections they have available. One criticism I have is that there is no option to buy a 5-in-1 ticket. The centre is split into 5, each area posing a different set of exhibits, but you can only buy a ticket each if you wanted to see them all which is very expensive. It is still a wonderous day out no matter how many parts you visit. The staff there knew their stuff and were willing to explain, simplify and even pick up after some of the littler visitors. Definitely returning there again, however may want to find a more budget-friendly plan.

Our 1 year old had loads of fun too! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. I was very grateful. Will definitely be back! There was one issue which made me a little uncomfortable towards the end of our visit and that was when I noticed there were two boys who looked around the age of 14-16, they were trying a couple of the activities but for the most part they were just sort mucking around and rushing through. Very out of place and did not seem to be too mindful of the fact that there were little ones around. Only for our son started to kick off, I would have complained to staff.

Amazing brand new facility with things to do for young and old. The museum has great parking facilities, many clean toilets, 2 floors of the actual museum, has VR, Junior and Indoor Caving sections (the museum has the world’s largest indoor cave) , a nice cafe and amazing views of Dublin City, as it is on a hill. The only downside is the prices which are quite expensive. All sections you pay for separately and also you enter the museum for only 2 hours (however nobody really checks/searches for you if you’ve been inside for over 2hrs) .Overall, this is a great place for a day out with the family with many activities to offer.

Great place but would go back. Staff were very friendly and helpful but a good few of the displays were broken and we found that once you went around once youd seen everything. Kids loved it but all of the parents go board very quickly. Only huge issue we had was the restaurant. It was completely filthy, the floors were covered (literally) in spilled food and the tables had spilled drinks and food on them too. There was one lone young woman trying her best to clean up but it was too much for one person. Not rocket science for a manager to be hovering around for periodic inspections to be able to reallocate staff as needed. Having said that, parents who allow their kids to throw food around and not clean it up are beyond shameful and need to come into themselves. Found the serving staff to be a bit blunt too. Impressed to see a gluten free option but it was useless because the only serving tongs were covered in other non gluten free cake crumbs. As adults we probably wouldnt go back but as I said, kids loved it.

Great place for the family and very educational. Kids were kept entertained for 2 hours along with me and my wife. Disappointed to see several faulty or inactive attractions (especially in the Movie section). Also - Not sure why the Junior section was closed at 5 - we only realised this at 4:55 when we tried to enter with our younger 2. Despite this they had good fun in the rest of the centre. 1 main Tip would be for the staff to be more interactive around the scientific/experimental showcases - not always clear.
