Eh.. I know its not their fault for having so many trailers and previews before the movie but we literally sat there for 35 minutes watching trailers four other movies before our movie came on... if the movie theaters have to play that many previews to make ends meet theres going to be a lot of unhappy customers... I know its covid-19 but really no refills Im paying $15 for a soda and I cant refill it before I leave thats all kinds of messed up...

This theater is past its prime. Its dirty in appearance and musty smelling like there was a water leak at some point. Im sure hoping that this theater will get a makeover and step into the future with updated amenities.

I killed a cockroach(specifically a german male) in the food court area, not surprising because that mall is nasty. Overpriced concessions, please just sneak in snack youll save a fortune. Maybe Im nitpicking here but, the screen in the room I was seated in appeared to be dirty! like how?

Went to see venom in 3d, they switched the screen to 3d mode right before the previews began and then all the previews ( 25 plus minutes) were in pink and green, a guy came in and spoke to us saying this was happening because his mgr said the previews were in 2d and the projector was in 3d mode and that when the movie begins the color would return to normal. The movie then started as it shouldve but the sound was so low and terrible it was hard to hear the movie over people eating their snacks. Also there were 2 lights still lit on the theater wall that interfered with viewing the 3d effect on the movie, it was super annoying so 10 mins into the movie I got up to find a manager, I found 2 young ladies who seemed to be attentive and told them about the sound in and lights in the theater and they ensured me that they would fix it BUT NO ONE ever did. The only good thing about this place is the fresh popcorn. I shouldve asked for my money back but apparently they need it more than I do ,that place needs some serious upgrades, the seats are hella uncomfortable as tight and it was the smallest theater Ive ever been in. It sat like 40 -50people tops in auditorium 14. Venom was also trash so that didnt help either.

The place is maintained very poorly counters dirty & sticky- carpet filthy- has a horrible odor smells of vomit. Bathrooms appear to be cleaned once a day when they leave for the day. Really shocked they don’t have mice. Food always always on the floor under your seat /arm rest sticky. In the winter/ summer the heat/ AC don’t work in some theaters. Needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Sad because it’s the perfect location just has employees standing around in groups talking instead of wiping/sweeping/vacuuming and doing the job hired for . Clearly poor leadership.

This is a very convenient place for me to visit. Its only a few miles from my home.but this is one place that needs a very serious makeover. The carpet in the halls of very dingy and dirty. I guess the people behind the counters try to do their best. But it could take you some time to get your tickets and refreshments so dont be late for your movie.

The Tuesday $5 price was just right. The volume of the previews is over the top too loud. Otherwise, quite enjoyable. Glad to see the cleaning crew come in immediately following the movie.

Quality up to date movies with a pretty decent selection of theatres as well as a variety of snacks to choose from although they can get pretty pricey. The seats are nothing special just standard movie theater seats. Overall a good choice for a night out.

It is an okay place but I would only go by myself I wouldn’t take anyone here. It needs to be redone. The floor is dirty, the seats are worn out and some are broken and have stains on them. The screens are not that good either. They are a little blurry but the sound is good. Pop corn is hit or miss sometimes it’s perfect and others it’s not. Candy and drinks are expensive but that’s everywhere. But for the price of the ticket would like to see a better place inside.

I am an A-list member and I enjoy seeing movies. However, the theater is in need of updating. Friends and family dont want to go to this location because the seats are old and uncomfortable. It badly needs recliners to be competitive. I have called AMC customer service number countless times, but for some reason, suggestions and concerns dont get any feedback.Projectors have broken down multiple times over the past several months, which shouldnt be happening. Delaware patrons deserve a nice AMC theater as Regal has 2 nice locations within an hour drive. Please bring a Dolby Cinema here and business will improve greatly. The management at the location has improved since the Carmike days and the theater employees are for the most part, are a friendly group. One of the head managers, Jacob, is a real bright spot within this group. He is extremely personable, and tries to do everything he can to make sure customers have a good time.

The worse movie theater in Delaware. Workers are lazy and not professional. I will not waste my money in the dump of a theater.

Its super convenient, as its the closest theater to our home. But man this place needs a serious facelift. As if labeling it a classic theater excuses the fact that it has been overlooked for any maintenance. We prefer to drive 2 hrs to NJ for a better movie experience, than to go here. We have also let our amc stubs membership expire because we no longer go regularly since moving here and this theater is our only option. Hope they do something before it gets shut down for lack of patronage.

Not a very clean place. Carpet has a very bad smell in all the hallways. Went to see a movie on a Sunday and was supposed to find there was no popcorn because the maker needed repair I totally understand that what I dont understand is when we asked for popcorn the team members reply was him pointing at a sign that there was no popcorn. This is not good customer service behavior. Talk to you customer that is the best way to communicate with others.

I gave it 3 stars because the venue itself is not bad and it does have an extended snack selection but the prices are outrageous. It costs 6 dollars for any size fountain drink if my memory serves me right or there is only a a 50 or 60 cents different between the sizes.

Giving it a one star. Wish I could give it a zero. Movie theater is so gross. Popcorn was burnt. Couldnt eat it. None of the lids fit the cups for soda. The theater smelt like stinky feet and is falling apart. Looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years and smelt like it. I cant believe that theater is still up and running. Just moved to Delaware and will not ever go back to that movie theater or recommend it to anyone. The only good thing from this all was the movie itself

My son is a big star wars fan so of course took him over the weekend to see the new movie. but theater was very cold movie didnt even start til over a hour after it was supposed to. this theater needs to get it together.

I am a Premiere Stubs member. The only reason I even considered this theater is because there are no other theaters nearby. This theater is extremely run down and everything is worn out. Come on AMC, I know you can do better than this. Open a new theater or remodel this one. I would not mind paying more for a modern, comfortable theater.

Love this place, $5 tuesday is my favorite times to go but a friday night isnt so bad either.

Truly the worst theatre I’ve ever been to. It is in desperate need of a renovation or demolition. The concessions are extremely expensive, even for movie theater pricing. The ceiling tiles are falling apart from water damage. The whole place smells of mold and urine. The bathrooms are disgusting and at times unusable. The staff are usually nice but that’s the only positive about this place. Do yourself a favor and go to any other theatre in the state. Cinemark and Penn upstate are worth the drive.

Tickets and food is expensive. There was a small food stand but they dont used that anymore. Hardly no people was there when I went. There is one arm rest between the seats. The popcorn taste and smell bad. It just a basic theater

The theater was a mess everywhere. Once I got into the concession area the floors where sticky and wet. The employees spoke barely above a whisper. Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. But the video was good and sound was great once I got past the atmosphere. I enjoyed my time there for the most part. Loved the stadium style seating.

To pricey. I dont mind paying the price of the tickets, but got 1 large popcorn, 2 large sodas 22.00. Wont make that mistake again

The theater is seriously dated and not very clean. The staff were friendly, but it appears AMC has given up on this location. There needs to be a serious upgrade of the place or a tremendous decrease in the prices. There was sound , but no picture during all the previews. If you have other options, take them.

Its not updated. The seats are not the reclining ones like most theaters. The carpet really smells. We went in the theater and it smelled like bad body odor or a strong musty smell. But the floor in the theater was clean. Its tolerable.

Its decent. It doesnt have that class like other theaters but, it still good when u want to watch a movie with a family or friend.

The customer service and food deals were good. However, the bathrooms, hallways, carpet, movie theaters were dirty, old, worn down, dusty, tissue on the floor, sticky floors, walls dirty, trash on the ground... etc. the whole interior of the building was outdated. The theaters need to be remodeled and updated and cleaned Every Hour. Maybe janitors can check in and clean every Hour or so. I went to the movies at 4:30 on a Monday. It was very disappointing considering I use to be an employee of AMC. I hope in the very near future the brand AMC will represent and do a better job on the cleanliness of its facility for ALL their customers to have an enjoyable experience.

Arrived to find theatre not open and long lines of people. And now told popcorn machine is broken. No, employees were late!!!!!! Theatre needs a good cleaning.

I am so disappointed! We just went to see motherless Brooklyn today at 1:30. We could hear the movie I. The theater beside our movie the whole time . So distracted I missed quieter times in my movie because of the roar of the movie in the other theater. What a waste!!! And really 16 dollars and change for a soda and popcorn . But I wouldn’t have batted an eye if I could have enjoyed the movie I paid to see.

The best thing I can say about this AMC location is that it gets the job done so to speak. It has not been maintained well at all, from the snack bar to the bathrooms to the theaters themselves, the wear and tear shows. The staff is generally friendly and helpful and the food is ok. If you live locally and dont feel like traveling or are unable to travel elsewhere, it is the place for you. It occupies a very prime mall location so it would be great if it could get some updating eventually.

Not such a good experience this time. Always a line but it moves pretty quickly. Only problem was when we got to our seats it smelled like urine. Not acceptable in any form. Will think twice before going again even for a $5.00 movie.

Its best to go during the week when theres less people. Food isnt bad but overpriced.

I really like this location. The overall experience was great! The employees are very friendly. The chairs are comfy and I really liked the recline feature. The food was really good for being movie theater fair. It could be a little more clean, but that didnt take away from the experience.

Good movie but what a DUMP of a movie theater. Everything was incredibly expensive : Soft pretzel was $16. Soda was $6. Popcorn was $15. The carpets, hallways, and bathrooms were dark and dingy! I really felt like I could have gotten mugged walking around the corner inside the theater.At the concession stand, they let preferred members go first, fine...Thats understood... those guests paid to be preferred members and go regularly. But the staff served five consecutive preferred customers IN A ROW letting the walk-in customers standj ust there ending up late for the movie. We were not the only ones and there was a line of people really quite upset.Moral of the story, if youre not a preferred customer who likes dark dingy nasty places, do not go to this movie theater!

Very few options as to snacks, lets not even talk about healthy snacks (nowhere to be seen). The rooms always have a particular smell and not in a good way. Last time it was wet dog scent, I guess that was the scent of the week. They should watch out for that because you spend no less than 2 hours in there. You dont want people getting allergies.

Facility needs a total upgrade badly! Understandable that if youre the only game in town you can charge more, however for the money that were paying I dont think its too much asking for adequate bathrooms, clean carpeting and at least comfortable seating! Its horrendous to see the advertising of AMC showing a properly funded theater with leather reclining seats, fully equipped service stations and online seating options only to look inside of ours to see a dump! It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase classic. Come on AMC we deserve better!

It looks small but its HUGE and the princes were not that bad.

The management of the place is horrible. They only have 1 employee selling tickets and concession. THERE IS NO TICKET PERSON...EVER. AND NO ELECTRONIC TICKET SELLING STAND. WHAT A WORTHLESS THEATER!!! We got to the theater at 5:25 for a 5:30 show on a Wednesday and left at 5:45 without tickets because there were still 10 people in front of us. Its dingy and grimy inside...its just a useless theater. We will drive an extra 30 mins to another theater...whats the difference right since thats an average wait time to get your tickets!!! Id rather spend 5x as much money at another theater chain than to give these guys my money.

Never have I ever been to a theater that DON’T have a entrance from the outside! So we go to see a 10pm movie, all the mall entrances by the theater is LOCKED, Mall security tells us to go to the food court entrance... Okay, no problem. The movie let out almost midnight and guess what?! You have to use the movie theater exits guess who car is parked on the other side (I mean all the way around the mall) of a EMPTY, dark parking lot! It has a weird smell, outdated seating and small screens compared to others. We’ll NEVER return, and if you do go be safe, your car maybe parked a mile from the exit save yourself the time and money and go somewhere more pleasant and accommodating.

It was great service it was just expensive and e 11.99 for a ticket. The movie wasnt even good. And 2 drinks with a popcorn was al dente most 30 dollars.

Ive seen Avengers-Endgame and Aladdin at this theater and I really enjoyed myself. Im super happy that I bought the refillable bucket for popcorn

Almost always long lines for tickets, etc, dirty/sticky soda area, grimy theater, always freezing...rent blankets, you could make a fortune!! But we still keep going back!!

Really not sure what all the bad reviews are about... me and boyfriend went to see black panther at 9:50pm because no else was showing black panther anymore except here. My boyfriend was hesitant to go here because of the bad reviews but this theatre is absolutely fine. prices are actually really good in my opinion, especially for a movie theatre. It does not smell of urine? Staff was really nice, no problem there at all, even though we went late at night. The bathrooms arent the best but Ive definitely seen worse and who goes to a movie theatre for the bathrooms anyway? Keep in mind the only people who write reviews are people who are triggered so youll see really good ones and really bad ones. Im triggered here because there are too many bad ones. There is nothing wrong with this place to go see your movies.

My family loves this theater the employees are always friendly and we love going on Tuesdays because they have $5.00 movie night.

Movie was fine, theatre was clean but the staff didnt take the cleaning supplies out of the theatre until halfway through the movie, and still left an overloaded trash can in the front by the screen. Initial ads and all the trailers before the movie were distorted. Told by staff that thats normal and that the movie will look right. Not sure Id recommend this theatre to anybody.

This theatre leaves a lot to be desired both in atmosphere and customer service. In need of a renovation and w the prices they charge they can certainly afford it. The theatre has an old musty smell to it and what kind of theatre runs out of ice...seriously??? On a Saturday night? Ridiculous!

Place is dirty, OLD uncomfortable seats, bathrooms dirty and broken fixtures. THIS PLACE NEEDS AN UPGRADED DESPERATELY. Only go if something is playing no where else.

Great bargain for 5.99. Beyond that, Im not willing to pay. I can wait on the small screen for not so great films. Willing to pay more for blockbusters....like ET and Back to the Future. We dont have movies like those anymore Dont try to guess my age.

Classic small theatre. It was independent and has been taken over by AMC. Updates to the theatre are still waiting. Selection of first runs is pretty good. The subscription method is filling my desire for film going as I can take in dubious titles and walk if it turns out not to my liking (hasnt happened yet.) Concessions are typical: popcorn, soda, candy, nachos, and hot dogs. Seats are comfortable with lift-up arms and drink holders. Acceptably clean.

This is the second time Ive got up from a movie and left because the movies sound was too low. Tried to watch the new Annabelle from middle seats and couldnt hear. My wife told the manager and she gave her a set of hearing aid head phones. When she got back to her seat and missed the beginning one headphone didnt work. We left from theater#12 and got free tickets to a different movie.If youre not happy dont be afraid to get up and demand either a refund or free tickets to a different movie even after the movie is over. If enough people do this they would have to make changes.

Always a weird odor to this theater. Just do yourself a favor and go to Westown Movies.

The new set up is absolutely horrendous. The waiting in line for both tickets and concessions is a logistical nightmare. You have to wait way too long to get in and then you run the risk that on top of that a group of their premier members will come in to make you wait even longer because they take them first. They never seem to have enough staff to cover. I arrived at 12:50 for a 1:10 movie. I finally got my tickets at 1:12. Not to worry though as I didn’t miss anything because this theatre then runs 23 minutes of commercials and trailers. The movie started at 1:33. Absolutely ridiculous. Put in some electronic kiosks for just tickets to alleviate the pressure on your crew at the very least. You should be very thankful this is the closest theatre AMC as the moment there is a better option I won’t be back.

Average theater that is greatly in need of an update. I think they get away with lacking quality service, sound, and screens due to lack of competition in the area. I was hoping for improvement when AMC took over but it has been a mixed bag. Was just there yesterday and they seemed to have the air conditioning on in 30 degree weather. No way to buy tickets without waiting for people to go through concessions. Makes the lines & wait times far longer than they have to be. I only go because of their matinee prices.

My movie experience was excellent. The theater was clean and the employees were great at their job. My family and I enjoyed the movie.

This theater has really gone downhill...mixed concession and ticket lines are long. Not enough staff and filthy concession area. I dont even want to set my cup down to fill or put lid on. I mentioned nicely to manager that people were complaining and all she could say is 4 people called out and we are trying to get people through line. Understand this but what about the same conditions for over a year now. Sorry AMC Dover Im finding another theater until you clean up your act.

View and acoustics were excellent. Seating was a little cramped when you have to sit next to someone. Maybe modern chairs needed. Otherwise an enjoyable evening.

Worst AMC Ive ever been to. I felt like my basement projector screen was bigger than the one here.It was so bad we literally left and got a refund for the movie. Sad experience.AMC is a multi billion dollar company, it wouldnt take much to renovate the location. The staff are sweet and nice but I felt like I was back in the 80s... And in a bad way.

The sound is terrible. During previews and commercials was okay, but as soon the movie started, it was hard to hear. This is not the first time this happens. Prices are ridiculous high for the service they are providing. We had to leave and ask for a refund.

The place is dirty and outdated. I would have thought taking over this place they would have at least cleaned the carpet. Concession area is a mess. Very disappointing. Unfortunately this is the only place in Kent county to see a movie. I had higher expectations of an AMC theater.

This place needs an upgrade ASAP!! I didn’t smell urine like some other people, but the theater is terribly dated. I won’t review or mention food prices because let’s be honest movie food prices are ridiculous no matter where you go. I only go here if I want to see a movie that’s been out for a while and I’m not looking to be “wowed” by all the bells and whistles of a modern movie theater. If you just want to watch a movie and leave, this is the place. If you want a REALLY nice movie going experience don’t pick this place.

Theater experience was below average. Entrance was on the dark side. Line to get a ticket was very long unless you were a special member. I would think all the customer are special. This is my 2nd time going to movie since theater has been an AMC. I place is going down hill. Was is a joke is to have a sign we value our customers . The owners should try the experience the the average movie go has. Needs a face life but it needs to better service its customers first. The only game in with in 25 miles is was is saving this place.

Workers playing around.. Joking loudly.standing in a huddle laughing and socializing with large crowds of customers not being serviced. Popcorn stale and not fresh. The soda fountain is a fail.. Butter fountain a fail. Not a fan of the self service. Trashcans full of trash. No boards to notify you on whether you can be seated or not. People just have to stand around the soda fountain or butter station area. Very disorganized.

For an older theater not too bad. Might want to lower volume a tad. Some really nice employees. Popcorn was stale. Theater was clean.

The one star I’m giving it is for the working exit doors to the parking lot, after sitting in the dirtiest, smelliest, waste-laden, bathroom not-working, laziest employee-having, unresponsive management, crusty seat-sporting, most certainly bacteria-laden wasteland in Delaware!

Its not a bad movie theater. Its just ok. Everything is old and dingy. Some of the theaters have a mildew smell. The prices seem kinda high for what youre getting. Youd be better off driving further south or going up to Middletown. They need to invest money back into this spot.

This theater is worth going to simply due to convenience of location. Its been a Dover staple for as long as I can remember, but its 2019 and it desperately needs to be upgraded. The screens and sound just dont cut it anymore, not for those prices.

Rarely have people working in ticket booth so if you dont want food you have to wait behind everyone that does to buy tickets and vice versa. If you buy tickets online you have to wait behind everyone buying tickets anyway to get food. The line is rediculolus compared to every other theater. I think they do this to force you to buy premier membership to skip line. That and they dont staff enough. I think Ill make the extra drive to Rehoboth from here on out. This is getting old fast. The theater itself is fine if they would get their act together.

This is for their online ticket purchase that they have a $9.45 convenience fee. Then they make everyone buy their tickets at the snack counter so you still have to wait in the same line to get popcorn.
