For $10 we got to spend 3 hours looking through 2 museums and then enjoying the petrified wood outside (brand new). Plus theres houses, trains and more outside near the picnic areas. If youre a history buff there is great information inside the museum and outdoors too. I would highly recommend every parent takes their kids! The gift shop was small but has a decent variety.

This place is really cool. Its a little smaller than I expected but definitely an awesome exhibit. Also have a nice little gift shop with a variety of different things. The little Historical Museum has a lot of interesting information of Dickinson. Definitely decently priced even for a big family. Wish the stupid covid-19 wasnt going on so I could have done the interactive things with my little man.

Absolutely wonderful place. My father and I seen so many unique and unusual species. This place has a massive collection of both dinosaur fossils and precious stones. You are able to watch them work on newly discovered artifacts which really gives you an up close look at how its done. The black light room is a must. Dont forget the gift shop. I was able to get really nice pieces of amethyst for under $10. The admission is very affordable. We also left a donation because this has to be one of the best museums we have ever visited.

$5 for seniors. Includes geodesic, rocks, shell and dinosaur fossils. History of life inDickinson from 1800s to 1960. Outside tour of homes, blacksmith shop, one room school, church, grocer/post office, farm implements etc. Well worth the price. Took me 4-5 hours to tour. Outside blogs included tour guide narration.

This is not the biggest or fanciest museum you will ever see, but every time I have gone in the past two years or so, there is something new and interesting to discover. They have made their work lab available for people to watch paleontologists in action, they have updated and corrected displays based on new scientific research, and they have added several hands-on features for kids. This summer they have an intern who is really enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his field and a lot of fun with the kids. Go meet Jorge before he goes home at the end of the summer! We also appreciate that they are incorporating their own current research and discoveries into the museum. Its changed from being a sort of repository of old information that seemed fairly stagnant to a vibrant, interesting center of learing. We feel really lucky to have it here in Dickinson!

Im so surprised at this hidden gem in Dickinson! When you go, youll understand the quotation marks around gem! Although comparatively small, there are more real fossils per sq ft and the most remarkable geod collection Ive ever seen. T rex? Check. Plus you can see fossil reclamation projects in their lab!
