Very relaxing place to be if you are looking to enjoy the scenery and water. The Marriot inside the building has great service and there is always something going on during regular times to engage in as a tourist. The people are their own type of uniqueness that if given the time will show you how to turn up. Lost of educational history both inside and outside the building and great spots to eat all around.

Terrible. I was booked in the low rise after requesting the high rise and booking online with them only to be told it was only available to airline workers when i got there. First room i was booked in blood was on the sheets. Moved out that room into a horrible view in the low rise again on the 19th floor were young teenagers (drunk) fought all night in the hallways ( i got videos) moved in at 4 am into the high rise Finally only for the sink with old sealant to fall on my foot and i had to get stitches in the big toe....

The food was good but service was very slow. It took a long time to get a waiter, water, bread, napkins, straws, it even took close to an 1/2 hour to get the billed paid after we gave them are card. The only thing that went quick was the hostess seating us. The outdoor seating looking at the water is what made it not so bad. For the price and the very slow service that was not worth it. Based off that experience I cant say Ill go back.

The iconic place of downtown Detroit. Great place to visit. Front desk officer told us; many of their restaurant chain closed their services and Elevator to the top is not running these days. some construction is on going inside, few racing cars and few GM new models on display, restaurants and food court inside, Perfect business complex and great a piece of engineering and architecture. Stunning views from all around. River walk is in front of this plaza and great views of Canada side. Love this place and will definitely go back again.

GM Renaissance Center is one many mascots of Detroit. Four sections of the building are used by the General Motors corporation. Inside the building, the current models of GM products are displayed from trucks to sport cars. You will find public bathroom on the main floor, restaurants are also located on this floor. The back of the building is the Detroit river walk. Many outdoor activities are going on in the summer time. There is paid parking garage underneath the building.

Lots of GM cars, trucks, race and formula one cars on display. Few restaurants makes it nice dining place too. Right across the river front, good place to visit and take a break. Built in Parking lot is expensive, as their is very less parking around, would be good to make it less expensive for visitors to park for couple of hours.

A very nice public space and skyscraper complex in downtown Detroit. The buildings reflect the Detroit River nicely at sunset. There are a number of shops inside and GM cars on display. There is a skywalk across Jefferson Ave. that is a lot nicer than walking across the busy avenue. There is a CVS on the second floor that has surprisingly reasonable prices for a downtown store; 99 cent candy bars and $1.19 Faygo Rock and Rye pop, a unique flavor Ive never seen in Philly or NJ, firmly soda territory. Anyway, downtown Detroit is worth visiting and this is a great place to stop by.

This hotel is nice but really not a full service hotel in terms of room service, at your service help, water or room accommodations. They provide minimal towels, bring you food in paper bags and do not even have eggs for breakfast. I have to say for how much they charge, one may expect this to be a full service Marriott. But I did not experience that type of service here.

There are many things that you can do, its a great way to spend the day either alone, with loved ones, co-workers, or anyone really. If you or someone youre with is in a wheelchair you will have accomodations to be able to experience everything the GM Renaissance Center has to offer. For those just wanting to get their grub on there are many places to stop and grab a delicious well priced meal or even a delicious snack. There is free WiFi for those wanting to upload pictures of the wonderful time theyre having at the GM Renaissance Center. The parking garage allows you to leave from your vehicle into the building over a cozy bridge without having to brace the weather. There is no smoking in this building, however, there are designated smoking areas outside of the building. I had a wonderful time at the GM Renaissance Center and I do plan on coming back more often.

The ever-evolving GM Renaissance Center (RenCen) is the most iconic building in Detroit, and is literally a giant maze to get lost in. Even though there is a number + color system for this giant building, I still get lost every time I visit. The front of the building is the Jefferson Lobby with the giant wall of glass pieces and the back of the building is the airy Wintergarden with a view of the Detroit River. The center of the building is a GM showroom, where you can actually purchase a GM vehicle from a GM sales person. I dont know anyone that goes on vacation with the intention of purchasing a new car, but you can actually do it at the RenCen. The Marriott within the RenCen is a great (but expensive) way to visit Detroit and you have access to the convention center through the People Mover. Taking the RenCen Tour used to be the only way to access the 71st & 72nd view out of the building, but since the closing of Coach Insignia earlier this year, this part of the tour has not been available. Overall, the RenCen is giant building with lots to see and do. Be sure to allocate additional time while visiting for getting lost in the building.

A series of interconnected highrises and towers that serve as the world headquarters for GM. Includes their store for gifts/souvenirs, restaurants and a Marriott among other enterprises. Can be disorienting and to get from one level to the next is like entering a maze. Cool that they display the latest vehicles (including a full size truck made from Legos). Uncool is that the food court on lowest level always seems closed except for Burger King. Whats up with that?

I come here every year to an anime convention, Youmacon. Getting around this location is a nightmare for people with disabilities. I use a rollator during the event because I damaged 3 disks in my back and have arthritis in one hip. Long sitting and long standing HURTS. I, and every person who has a mobility issue, have a terrible time getting around. We have to take elevators that are hidden in back corners, which are actually meant to be used by the janitorial staff. Gross! I have seen signs for handicap ramps to avoid 5 step staircases, go to look to the way it points and guess what? It doesnt exist! Cobo Center is MUCH EASIER to get around. I never feel like someone is waiting around the corner ready to mug me. The Rencen needs to get it together! Someone is eventually going to get hurt.
