I got lucky and got a spot here a few days ago due to a cancelation. This is by far the nicest state park right at the beach Ive been so far!The spots are huge and private. They all have water and electricity, theres a nice big dump station between the camping loop.I stayed at site 45 and now 17.The staff is super friendly and helpful. They keep this place clean. Ice is available at the entrance, along souvenirs etc. Mayor stores are across 98 and the beach is within a couple minutes walking distance via a nice walkway and pier over the dunes. The beach is huge, clean and white. Yes, this is the real Florida!Looking forward to another 3 days here before we move on.#RollingwiththeShasta

The beach (great skim board beach at low tide!) and facilities are very nice. We were camping, site 56 for two nights site 24 for 3 nights. The campsites are large and very secluded. The bath house, laundry and wifi ( at the bath house) are awesome and clean. The park has NO lighting so when the sun sets it is dark. If you are backing in a camper at night I hope you have a spotter with flashlight.

We have visited the Destin Beach area several times over the years and are always amazed at how beautiful it is.The sands are truly sugar-soft powdery white and water is made of a multitude of blue and green tones. It is a great family destination. There is always plenty to do in the area as well.Definitely a beach worth visiting and enjoying!

This is probably a nice place to stay if you have an RV and spend most your time inside it, at the beach or about town. BUT, don’t stay in a tent. If the highway traffic noise doesn’t spoil your time, the dozens of RATS are sure too. They circled our site all day in the bushes, then came in for an attempt at a meal at night as they tried to eat through our cooler. We feel fortunate they didn’t eat into the tent. Maybe this is normal down in Florida, but I’ve camped all over the US and spent a couple years in and out of tents from West Germany to Georgia in the Army and never saw the hint of a rat. BUT, like I said, if you have an RV and don’t mind rats and some traffic noise, it’s a very clean facility with nice amenities and close to the beach.

While it costs $6 for a car up to 8 people, it is a *very* clean beach. Our December visit was so quiet and peaceful. I lived in the area in the late 90s and always loved Henderson; it is wonderful to know that some things do not change.

This is a beautiful beach about 5.5 hours away from Atlanta. My neighbor Gabby and I woke up at 3 am, left at 4 am EST, and arrived there by 9 am local time, which was 10 am EST.It was my first time at a state park: $6 to enter, friendly staff, safe and large parking lot, beautiful cleanup facility with a changing area, large clean bathrooms, excellent beach showers, covered OCEANFRONT picnic area, short few feet walk to the water, and I just felt like I arrived to heaven.Water is so gorgeous, clean, warm, and healing. I inhaled some accidentally and it simply cleared my sinuses. The sand is as white as my favorite Russian snow. It was magical. We brought our picnic from Atlanta, and, after a long walk on the beach, we ate, napped, I ran barefoot on the beach for miles, and then, we explored the pier, saw dolphins and turtles there, and watched sunset. We arrived back home by 2 am EST.I highly recommend it!P.s: beware the highway is toll and they charge twice on the same highway, so it was $8 to drive there.P.s: I went to Henderson Beach multiple times now and it’s my favorite place on earth.

Really enjoyed this part of Destin. Henderson has many things to enjoy including but not limited to restrooms, pavilions, park for the little ones. The stretch of Beach to the West if you go far enough, will bring you too some great restaurants. It is very well kept along the trail and Beach. Will definitely come back to Destin for a visit

I loved it! I liked how there are showers, tables, and restrooms. But unfortunately there were tons of mosquitoes and flies that bites people which itches and hurts. A few bit us, which was uneventful. But there were no jellyfish in sight which I was glad. In the other beach next to our hotel, there was ALWAYS a jellyfish in sight. And at least one of us would get stung. But I think the other beach were staying near in is much more cleaner (the water is more clearer.) This one is full of flies and insects like I said before but I enjoyed the non-jellyfish-sting experience. We went surfing and none of us got any sort of jellyfish sting. I enjoyed my day here (we came a bit later, 1 hour before closing). Thank you for this enjoyable experience! :) We might come back for another adventure.

Most Google reviews are accurate regarding day visits to the beach. The park is beautiful and immaculate. If you are staying overnight (RV or camping) here is my reason for the 3 stars: The noise from the adjacent highway is unbearable. All the sites are no farther than 400 feet from the busy highway and the noise at all hours (specially at night) ruins the experience.

This is great place to spend whole or half a day. Nice and well maintained restrooms, shower area. Good number of picnic tables and clean area.Sunset view might be obstructed due to nearby buildings, otherwise its a great place to spend time with your loved ones.During our visit, there was a marriage and it was beautiful to witness the event. They charge you $6 for the day pass and the park closes at 8pm. The park also has play area for kids.Only downside during our visit was the construction on the road which made it harder to get into the park, hopefully that gets completed soon and makes it easy entry.Overall, a nice place to visit and spend time.

Nice RV park. The campsites are private. Short walk to beach. My only complaint is that there are loud helicopters flying by ALL day long, right above us every day, every 5 minutes. As I type this 2 had flown by!! Found out, that there is a Helicopter Tours Company about 5 miles away in the Harbor Boardwalk area. It really is a nice place to camp, weve really enjoyed ourselves, but I just wanted to caution those who are easily annoyed by those types of noises. You come here to enjoy, the natural sounds of nature, and then you have to hear helicopters as a bonus.

We visited last July, and I can’t wait to see it again next month. You pay $6 per carload, since it’s a state park, but it’s well worth it.The beach and water is absolutely stunning. It’s a family-friendly, clean beach with a lot of space to social distance.

Enjoyed our short two night stay. We hit the beach as soon as we arrived. Campgrounds were well kept, people are friendly and it was very quiet. We were in campsite 1. We had total privacy with dense shrub around us. The beach was a bit of a walk, but well worth it. There are nice/simple showers on the walkway for a quick rinse. Helped us keep the sand our of our rig. The beach was amazing. You could see the congestion of the beach to the East and West, but you had lots of space around where the walkway enters the beach from the campground. We had an amazing time and plan to come back when we come through Florida again. Must book well in advance!

Henderson State Park beach has beautiful, clean white sand. Not too many visitors on the beach so its nearly private. Plenty of access across the dunes and there are pavilions for rent if you have a large gathering or group event. The water is a beautiful emerald green and there are plenty of sea shells for the kids to pick up. It also looks like there is a sand bar around 200 to 300 feet off shore you can swim out to and hang out on. It does cost $6 per car to enter but its definitely worth the money.

Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful beach with with blue water and white sand. Wonderful place to visit.I want to thank the helpful, kind park rangers. I locked my keys and phone in the car. I was so upset and didnt know what to do. Very nice park ranger saw me and could tell something was wrong. He called a locksmith that came quickly. He told them exactly what pavillion we were by and what spot. He checked that we didnt need water and my elderly mom was ok. He promised to have another ranger come by in 30 minutes to check on us and promised they wouldnt go home for the night until we were ok. The other ranger came by 30 minutes later 2x times to see how we were. Thankfully, the locksmith got us in and we were all set. I cannot thank them enough. So kind and helpful.
