Really nice place to stay. Convenient, clean and friendly staff. My only criticism is the lack of a TV guide/list. I had to flip channels not knowing what channel I was watching.

Very well maintained, clean, quiet and perfectly located for Destin fun. We loved it and will be back as often as possible!

The camp ground is great. Well kept and peaceful. Restroom facilities are clean. Dock area is great to fish from, grandkids loved it. Would have been nice to have more boats and jet skis up and running but Im sure thats a challenge with all the people running them. Will return. Thanks to all the staff.

Its one of the best rv parks we have stayed at,the kids area and docks were closed for repairs but gotta do them sometime.things are kind of packed in at the rv side but not bad for backing in.will be back,its a hidden gem

Outstanding value and room options for a causal stay. Several different room options and camping available. Pet friendly rooms available on the lower level. Nice pool, ample parking, ocean access, great staff, and charters on site. Great stay!

We have stayed here every year for a couple years now. Overall great experience every time. This last time we stayed at the rv park. Probably the best rv park experience we have had to date. Check in is a little quirky because it opens at 2pm so everyone has the same idea to check in right at 2pm. The staff is always nice at the front. The maintenance of the pool and splash pad are lacking a bit. They could use some TLC.

DARA is a great compound! It is well kept, clean and spacious. Glad to see there is a large fishing pier, outdoor pool, a couple workout rooms, a indoor leisure area, and plenty of space for a good morning or evening walk. Some would say there is a downside to not having a beach, I disagree. Glad our armed forces wether active or retired have a great place like this!

This place is awesome. Clean rooms and close to a lot of attractions. You can charter a fishing boat, rent a jet ski or pontoon boat. They have a nice splash pad, swimming pool and two playgrounds onsite. My kids love coming here!

Showed up for a week long stay and the water park for the kids is broken and the fishing pier is closed. They gave us no notice prior to checking in. Needless to say we left the same night we got there.

This is one of our favorite military camping areas. We have RV camped here several times and have never been disappointed. There are also rooms available to rent as well as entire bungalows. They have a pool and splash pad overlooking the bay. The sunsets here are some of the prettiest Ive ever seen. Shower and bathroom facilities available, as well as a laundry facility. There are parks where the kids can play as well. Ice and vending machine are also available.

A great stay! We pulled our 43ft RV in a pull thru slot and enjoyed 3 days. The amenities are wonderful! The campground was very clean and modern. We will return again!

This is located on the GUulf of Mexico! It is a hidden paradise with a pool, pier, marina, laundry facilities, splash park small exercise room and library. There are camping sites and rooms you can reserve. We reserved a camping lot! The kids had a blast; very safe environment when we were there. We will be returning next month. It is open to Vertans and DOD employees. You can book one year out for camping and 6 months out active or 4 months retired for rooms.

My family has visited the Army Recreational Area in Destin most every summer for the past twenty years and always love our stay.

No issues...worth the money.

Stayed here in the studio room like a hotel room, they were clean and cheap. They have a nice pool and marina where you can rent a pontoon boat and go to crab island which is only a five minute boat ride.

Really I was just dropping a friend off at work but compared to most of Destin it seemed nice and quiet.

Love this place! The hotel is reasonably priced compared to hotels in Destin. There are many things to do without the recreation area. My boyfriend and I did kayaking and it was fun! Everyone was very nice. I definitely plan on visiting again. I recommend going to Henderson Beach State Park if you’re looking for a beach (there is an entrance fee, but it’s so worth it!).

We had a great time, even on the coldest days off the year. We hope to be back to utilize the amenities.

Pretty surroundings, but if youre in a camper, your right up against the next camper. Lodging is right up against the campers...everything is squeezed together, so uf you will be gone most of the time, youre fine.

Nice pool ,my dog enjoyed a relaxing day. Kayaking in the bay.

We enjoyed our time here! Facility is clean, offers a lot for families to do. Love the rentals and charters available here as well.Few drawbacks that were specific to us and probably only a few others may find this part helpful: the beds are super hard, so keep that in mind. If you are bringing your own boat the trailer slips are TIGHT and the launch area is fairly shallow even at high tide (meaning your hookups are likely to get wet) and there is no wash down area for boats.

Best place to go if you are military affiliated. When we went, it was $25/night for full hookups!! You can sit on the benches facing the bay and watch the dolphins swim by just before sunrise. Very nice place, clean, and always had friendly staff. They also have a nice playground and splash pad for the kiddos.

Great place to stay if you are current/retired military. Had great amenities...shower/bath house, pool, marina, splash pad for little kids, and a small store at the main office. Very clean and great location!

Hidden Jewel. This place has a variety of very nice rooms at a great price. Right on the water and centrally located to everything. You can also rent water crafts of assorted types.

Peaceful quiet and clean

Have always enjoyed coming here to get a break from work. Sadly only a couple of days were sunny. Not their fault.

Great living along the gulf w/ excellent room service + water park & pool. Close to Harbour walkactivities. Year round comfort & fishing off pier.

Great amenities. Clean, furnished rooms room with tons of extras. Playgrounds, bbq areas, plenty of outdoor seating with ocean views. Pet and child friendly with splash park and pool. Close to Destin beach activities and attractions. Close to shopping area and various restaurants. Great staff from front desk to room staff and housekeeping. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting in the future.

It is pretty nice. The rooms are quite old but they have new comfortable beds and refurbished bathrooms.

The bay shore water access and dock has not been repaired from storm damage. Boats are in poor state of repair. The rooms were nice and housekeeping was good. If needed repairs were made this would be a great value for any DoD member. Very family friendly in a great vacation area.

Rude sevice from office personnel, who apparently did not want to be disturbed during their quiet time. If I was their commanding officer, I would enroll them in remedial etiquette classes and hope they would/could learn a little respect for the military heroes they serve!

You can’t beat the location, rooms are pretty clean and the landscaping is pretty. I just have a few suggestions- fix the dock area for safety reasons (looks like storm damage). Also, when we here a couple years ago, the fountain by the pool was working. It is not working now and is dirty and ruins the ambience by the pool. Also, caution tape all along the railing by the pool and splash pad kind of ruin the ambience as well.

We always have a great time! The sunsets are amazing, the property is super clean, the staff is very helpful and the boss Susan is wonderful!!!

We came here for a retreat with my husband’s unit at Fort Benning. Accommodations are very nice!! The thing that gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is this....our floor in our room was quite filthy!! I always wear socks and my white socks are BLACK on the bottom!! Can’t tell with the naked eye. Otherwise everything else is fantastic!!

I was camping at the MWR area. For the price, it cant be beat.

Very nice. We like it. Small place just right. Its a Military run recreation area, and only Military Active, or vetrans can use this facility. Just a heads up.

If looking to camp at St. Andrews area skip St. Andrews State Park!! Park personal stated to me Were always FULL !!! Look elseware.

This is by far the best campground in Destin. proximity to everything. if you dont want to leave, there is a splash pad for the kids and a nice pool. they also have a full service marina with rentals

Love staying here; walking out the pier or just sitting outside watching the boats go by....very relaxing.

Quiet campground, a little close in spacing but in a great area of the Emerald Coast. Pool anf spladh park were closed for repairs to the fences. About 20 minutes from Elgin AFB.

Its away from all the tourist attractions.. its nice!

Very nice facility, camping spots are easy to get into, helpful and friendly staff, and everything to keep the family entertained is right here.

We stayed in the traditional hotel rooms for 2 nights. The room was large and very clean, had a living area and bedroom separated by a door. There was a well stocked kitchen area with a fridge, sink, dishes and cutlery, and a stove top. They provided dish towels, paper towels, and dish soap, too! The bed and pillows werent the most comfortable but the sheets were soft. Shower had good water pressure. Overall just a comfortable place to stay.We were in town for a wedding so we didnt get to use the other property amenities but it looked like the pool and kiddie splash and play areas and play ground were in great condition. There is a marina where you can rent various equipment and a sizable pier for fishing . And nothing beats the view...right on the gulf!Highly recommend staying here if youre in the area. Also, great local place to eat is The Donut Hole.

Ive been living in this area since the 90s and I didnt even know this was here until recently. What a great place! Easy access to Crab Island, fishing, events, RV park, bungalows, and rentals for boats and jet skis. Very well kept too. Looking forward to spending more time here.

This was our first time staying here. The facility was very clean and a pleasure to spend time at. Front desk receptionist was very helpful and courteous. My two daughters loved the splash pad and swimming pool. We loved the fact that it was so close to the harbor. Keep up the good work guys!! We will definitely be back again!!

You cant beat the rates here for water craft rentals and the fishing tours. Would have given 5 stars but our ships captain showed up late and we hit rain that could have otherwise been avoided. Deckhand did an outstanding job and made the entire trip very enjoyable.

This was our first time staying here. We stayed at the RV park...it was a great experience. The staff is extremely friendly and the RV sites are very well maintained. There is no beach access but it is only about 10 minutes to Henderson Beach State Park which is excellent. There is a very nice seating area on the bay that is a perfect spot to cook out or just have a couple drinks. Really appreciate the effort that the Army goes to so military, retirees and civilians can have such a great spot to enjoy!

The overall facility is top of the line for an RV park. Park is tight around the edges, and the bathroom could have been cleaner (probably not cleaned early on Sunday morning when I took a shower there). The pool and rental facilities are very nice. Overall, you will not find better for the price.

Similar to cheap motel I stayed at in Kansas.... its nice they do this for Military people but quality is pretty low.

Super place for friends family son Beach and fun

The campground has been improved since we were last there. This time we were able to park in a long pull-through, allowing us to not have to disconnect our tow vehicle as we were only staying one night.Was surprised/disappointed that there are no picnic tables at the sites. This location is beautiful and right on the water. Facilities are all excellent with a pool and childrens water area. There is a small marina with several boats to rent or fishing guides to hire. The RV Park is small and the sites are close together, but they do the best with the small amount of land available. We stay here any time we are in the area and highly recommend for location and facilities.

Safe for kids, family friendly, reasonable rates.

We got a studio for three days and the stay was great. Weather cooperated and the staff were very professional and helpful.

Great place. Right on the water. The family and I rented a pontoon boat. It was allot of fun and the staff was phenomenal!! Everyone, if you are going to drive a water craft, you will need a copy of a completed Florida Boat Safety Certificate.

We are always please with our stay and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Staff is amazing and so are the grounds. Very well maintained. Landscaping is beautiful. You dont have water view from thw campground but its only a 1-3 minute walk to multiple Lounging & picnic areas.
