Was there for Fall Break 19. Youngest daughter (16) want Ted a tattoo to memorialize her only and favorite uncle. I wanted a lower leg / calf tattoo. We both picked our designs, and researched local shops. I visited 3, but based on reviews, wanted Custom Concepts Tattoos.Once I walked in and was greeted, I knew I was in the right place. I was made to feel like I was an old friend. I explained what I was wanting as well as my daughter, they explained the legalities for my daughter to get hers and provided the paperwork. We set the appointment then and thereArrived for the appointment, and they helped my daughter better visualize her design and explained everything. She loves her tattoo,! Terry did a great job with her. Then it was my turn, Terry hand drew the design and in approximately two hours created a piece of art better than I expected! Terry even worked in my oldest daughter(18) for a tattoo at last minute-They even squeezed in my daughter’s boyfriend for a tattoo, and did a great job too!Overall, this is a great place with great prices, and above all - great people!! We got married in Santa Rosa and wanted to get ring finger tattoos. We searched for shops around and ended up picking custom concepts. We were hesitant when we first pulled in but as soon as we walked in Mac was so friendly and made us feel right at home. Luckily, Chris had a cancellation and was able to fit both of us in. My husband and I got two tattoos a piece and we could not be happier. Everyone was so down to earth and the line work Chris did was phenomenal. We live 6 hrs away but we will definitely be making the trip back to Chris for our sleeves.

While vacationing in Destin I wanted to get my first tattoo. Me and my boyfriend read reviews and chose Custom Concepts. Mack, lady at the front desk, was SO friendly and helpful! She set up my appointment with Chris and made me feel very comfortable about getting my first tattoo. The next day I came in and Chris did my tattoo perfectly in good time and for a great price. Very patient staff! It was over all a great first tattoo experience. I plan to make the 5 hour drive just to come back!

Loved this tattoo shop. On vacation in Destin, Florida with husband and kids. My husband and I wanted to get something done together. We ended up at the end of the 1 Harbor Blvd. The outside of the shop has us wondering at first but the Staff was great and friendly. They squeezed us in and made it happen. Both I and my wife decided to get tattoos here, due to recommendations and having visited the location before for a piercing. They begin by a fun, yet professional greeting when first walking through the entrance. The shop is kept clean, and cleanliness is put on the forefront throughout the tattoo process.All of the artists are very skilled, particularly because they are all creative enough to come up with something out of nothing, not just tracing. Sam was our artist, and he did a spectacular job on both of ours! He is extremely chill, cordial, and an amazing artist! I got lettering and my wife got a more colorful picture piece, and they both ended up amazing! This is my second time going to Custom Creations and going to Jay. It was once again an amazing experience. I thought that my first tattoo was amazing and he couldnt outdo it. I was totally surprised when he surpassed it with the second tattoo. Ive never had an official tattoo person before but I finally found one. His work is great, he is down to earth, and his music selections make you want to drift away. He is A1. If youre ever in the area and want a good tattoo no matter the size, Jay is your guy!

This place was amazing! From the first moment spent at the shop to the last we had great service! This was my 1st tattoo and my sisters second. They gave there educated opinion about how do adjust our sisters tattoo and worked with us until it was exactly what we wanted. Mac and Terry were very patient and kind through everything. After extensive research, I decided I wanted a dermal neck and nipple piercings, and all directions led to Darby.I had read that shes the best, so if I was going to do it, it was going to be by her. She pierced me when I went to Destin for vacation and I can say nothing but good things about her. The communication is great all throughout the process from consultation to answering any questions I had.The actual piercings went by very quickly and didnt hurt. I think the whole process took about 30 minutes tops -including prep, piercing and aftercare instructions. She is very sweet and talks to you the whole time and lets you know what shes doing as she works. Shes so good that she had done the piercing and I was still waiting, bracing myself for her to do it. I wont say its completely painless, but it hurts even less knowing there is someone as professional as her working on you. Immediately afterward, I just felt normal as if nothing was there, and was easily able to go on with my day.Id have to agree with everyone and say she is indeed the best - very professional and its clear that shes experienced and dedicated to quality. If youre thinking about getting this piercing, I highly recommend her, I wouldnt trust anyone else. In fact, I trusted her so much that I chose her to pierce my teenage daughters navel-- and my daughter couldnt be more thrilled.

If getting a tattoo this is definitely the place to go. The place is clean, comfy, and full of great energy. Terry, the owner and an artist, was very helpful and all of the artists do an outstanding job at very reasonable prices. We were very lucky because Terry helped us get the required form completed and notorized for minor. And since we were from out of town he allowed us to do a walk in. He took the time to find out the meaning of the tattoo and my daughters personality then created a wonderful drawing that was perfect. Great place, great people, and awesome art work/tattoos. When we left we felt like we had been friends forever.

After living in the area for about a year, I was still trying to find a tattoo shop that I thought I could trust. Recommended by a co-worker, I initially met with Terry to get a cover up of an old tattoo. His artistic ideas snowballed until I decided to get a half sleeve instead. For large pieces, I think its important to be comfortable with and have a good working relationship with the artist and Terry and Custom Concepts exceeded every expectation.The shop is spotless and very strict about following proper procedure. The best part for me was the creativity Terry brought to the table. His paintings hang in the shop and range from landscape to contemporary. I think hes a fantastic artist who also happens to be damn good at tattooing.Ive already got plans to go back for another piece and I would recommend Custom Concepts to anyone who wants a showpiece tattoo. With a tattoo parlor in every strip mall, finding the one that is right for you can be exhausting. So, save yourself the trouble and just go to Custom Concepts. Problem solved.

My friend and I took a one week trip to Fort Walton Beach and we decided that we wanted to get tattoos. I had been wanting one for a couple months since my dad passed in honor of him. We went in on Monday evening to schedule our appointments. The girl at the front desk, Mack, was the absolute sweetest! She got us scheduled for Wednesday evening with Mark and took notes of what we wanted and had us send inspiration photos to their email so they could draw something original. We came back on Wednesday and even with a longer than expected wait while our tattoo artist finished up the client before us, we felt so at ease with the service. Of course, you never want someone to rush through a tattoo! Mark stayed for our tattoos even though the shop was technically closed. He did a BEAUTIFUL black and gray daffodil tattoo on my inner arm. I wanted it to look realistic and he delivered! Mark was so easy going and kept us laughing and entertained during the whole appointment. My friend wasn’t sold on getting her tattoo that night so he told her to sleep on it and contact him in the morning and he would be willing to come in early before the shop opened. She woke up with a fresh mindset and contacted him to get it before we left. Mark is very talented and I would recommend him to anyone needing a tattoo in Destin! Me and my son stopped into there shop on a Sunday evening and wanted to get some new art. We was met by Jay and and gave him our ideas. He ask if we could come back in a couple hours since we didnt have a appointment and he would have something drawn up for us. We returned and it was exactly what we wanted done. The owner Terry was there. I had him do some work on me about 4 years ago and I knew he was former military and was in the same branch as me. The staff was extremely friendly and the price was the best in town. The work was excellent and looked awesome. We will always have our work done here.

Last summer I got this random idea that I wanted to get a cartoon/space themed sleeve on my left arm. I wanted it to look silly, I wanted it to be fun, and I wanted color and detail and everything else. I talked to Terry about it and here we are 7 months later wrapping it up. When I first checked out Terrys work I wasnt seeing much of the style that I wanted, and I gotta admit I was a little skeptical at first but once he drew up my monkey in a space suit I was sold and knew this guy isnt just a one-trick pony hes a jack of all trades. The tattoo doesnt look like I imagined it would, it looks f**king 20 times better than I couldve thought it up. Terry took his time and paid real close attention to detail and it really shows. The staff is friendly, the place is almost like hanging out at home (Ive fallen asleep a couple of times in the waiting area couch watching TV), and most importantly its clean. I cant help but look at my arm and still be impressed each and every time. A pretty underrated part about the shop is that they know how to heal a damn tattoo. My first one (which I had done at a different shop) lost a lot of its color and looks nowhere near as alive as the one I got at Custom Concepts, and a lot of that credit has to go to the staff for some good guidance and direction on taking care of the art. I would highly recommend this shop to anybody. Go in, tell them what you want, and they will blow you away.

I got a Cartilage piercing today and I was treated with so much kindness the minute I walked in. Angie was the one who pierced me and she made sure I was comfortable the whole time and was very sweet and answered all my questions. She also gave me tips and advice for aftercare that I didnt know about from my research. My experience from when I walked in to the time i left was Excellent and I would happily get another piercing here and recommend to friends.

The artist was opened to ideas but also knew when to help with his own creative ideas as well. Chris is my artist and his talent and skill are truly unbelievable. He has been amazing on my cover up and half sleeve. A true custom master. Give him the idea and let him do his thing. Ive heard the other people are good and seen some of their work, but i wanted Chriss style. The owner Terry is a good dude as well. There are a ton of options in this area, but if you want a completely custom shop where you are not picking flash off the wall...defintely go here!

Terry Dutra made the experience getting my first tattoo amazing. He bought me a coffee and pizza the first time around (in early Feb).. What more could I ask for for a comfortable experience? Hes really passionate about his work which ultimately makes his art absolutely stunning! My brother and I came to Destin for vacation with our family and on a whim decided to get tattoos together. When we came to Custom Concepts to set and appointment and see about pricing. We looked up their hours and it says they open at 12pm. We drive by to only find out they really dont open till 1pm but they were awesome enough to let us in, make the appointment and talk to us about what we are wanting. Along with that, they are very reasonably priced. Their quality of work is amazing and they are a well rounded family friendly place. No profanity, no rudeness and no yelling through the shop! Believe it or not these things are hard to come by in a tattoo shop. Jay Boss is the best! He did our tattoos with a calm steady hand and was a pleasure to deal with. I was in Destin for a week. I called Custom Concepts and left a message. Mac called me back the same day and I met with Mark to discuss my idea. I was scheduled for an appointment on Wednesday. Tuesday morning, I had an extremely moving experience while in the ocean. I emailed Mark and told him that we needed to completely change the tattoo to reflect my recent experience. I showed up on Wednesday and Mark was there, ready with a new design. He takes his job very seriously. The tattoo looks FANTASTIC and Mark and Mac are great people! I plan to fly back for Mark to tattoo me again.

Mack at front desk was super helpful and friendly. Mark took my old tattoo and my ideas drew up some samples and made a masterpiece. Will definitely be going back for all my work.

I got my tattoo done at Custom Concepts when I was on vacation in Destin. It was a great experience and I got exactly what I was looking for! Chris did my tattoo, and he could not have done a more perfect job!! He got the exact font, size, and location that I wanted right away. Chris and Terry were both friendly, cooperative, and professional! The shop was extremely clean and they made me feel very comfortable, as this was only my second tattoo. Chris is an amazing artist, and he made my script look perfect, and just the way I wanted. I would recommend anyone and everyone to go to Custom Concept Tattoo and go to Chris!!!

Went to Custom Concept today to get a new tattoo, as the reviews of this establishment were excellent, and believe me they are correct. From the moment we walked in the front door where we were greeted by Sam ( I think his name is, if not...sorry) who took good care of us while waiting for our artist. Looking around, we noticed the cleanliness and the comfort of the waiting area. My artist was Chris who saw to my comfort before beginning to work. He took extra care to insure that the tattoo was perfect and that I was happy with it, which I was and am completely, and to thoroughly explain the necessary steps to take care of my tattoo during the healing process. When leaving, we stopped by the front desk where we were fortunate enough to meet Terry, the owner. A very nice man who took time to speak with us and thank us for coming to his establishment which he is very proud of. All in all the experience was a fantastic one, staff was great and I would recommend Custom Concept to any and all in the Destin area. Thank you!!!

I Love my tattoos! I am a tattoo collector and have many large pieces by a few different artists and my tattoos from Terry are by far the most intricate and vivid pieces I have. For the last 4 years I have been getting tattooed solely by Terry. Not a day goes by that someone doesnt stop me and ask me who did my tattoos or just ogle in amazement, unable to resist expressing their feelings of their infatuation with my tattoos.. this makes having the artwork even more great because I am constantly reminded how amazing they truly are. I am forever blessed with beautiful art on my skin to share with everyone I encounter for the rest of my life. I love sending people to the shop to experience this high level of the tattoo environment. No longer do I have to sit awkwardly in a deserted waiting area waiting to be part of the conversation, Terry and his floor guys do a great job greeting the customer and making them feel at home usually laughing or joking about something or the other. Chris does an amazing job keeping the shop clean and inviting, from the windows out front to sinks in the bathroom. Its always spotless when I walk in and smells fresh. I do not worry about bringing my daughter here, it is an inviting environment and laid back (sometimes the couches are too comfy and we have a hard time leaving tho). I love the artistic element of the shop, from the artists custom drawn line drawings that hang above the computer area from previous client pieces, to the custom painted award winning pieces over the sitting area. This shop def gets 5 stars from me, for experience and establishment! Now Im a tattoo snob! Thanks guys for setting the bar so high ;-D

The studio was super cool and very clean! Sam at the front desk was also super cool, helpful and welcoming. And artist Jay was a perfect match for the tattoo I had in mind- he was absolutely awesome!--Jay was intuitive, insightful, creative and one of the coolest personalities Ive met.... I will definitely be back for more work from him- as his creative vision was spot on, and his open-mindedness allowed for this tattoo to turn out much better than I imagined it would (it was a cover-up/addition to pre-existing chaotic design- which he helped really pull together) thanks!!! you rock!! :))))

I got a tattoo here last year from Terry. He did an excellent job and was super friendly and professional. The shop is clean and comfortable. The artists were dilligent and personable. I get compliments on the cleanliness within the detailed linework of my piece often and it healed up nice and quick after following their aftercare regimen and using their personal ointment that they provided. I definitely recommend this shop!

Custom Concepts is one of the best shops I have ever visited. Being a Military guy, I was cautious as to where I was going to go to get work done, but one name kept coming up in those conversations...Ta2 Terry. So I went and saw him, and now I will not let anyone else put a gun to me! My wife has had multiple items done, all 100% custom, and he fixed some butchered work on her wrist. Terry is the real deal! Very personable, approachable, and reasonable! I see the work he produces daily, and am still very impressed with his ability. He is former Army, therefore VERY military friendly! Terrys tattooing ability is unrivaled in the local area, and once again, he is the only person I trust to ink me up!

Custom concepts is by far the best experience Ive had ... Tattoo shops can be intimidating, and artists can be pushy, in general sometimes its not the experience youre hoping for. But this shop is super clean and well set up. Sam is my artist for life. He listened and perfectly captured what I wanted. He is knowledgeable and direct with placement, style, aftercare ect. I couldnt be more thrilled with his work and the shop as a whole. You wont be disappointed!

Terry and Chris have made me a extremely happy customer. I will be sending people here for sure. Ive always had a good experience with the staff there. The other artist were extremely polite as well. ISSUE RESOVLED. Thanks again.

Okay so the review that I had posted Im going to take it down.. I got a phone call and everything problem that I had was resolved and made right again... but like I said before this is an amazing place and great staff and was just proven to me that they will not let a customer down and do everything they can to make it right... and Jay the next time I come back down I will for sure make a stop in there for more work.... what had happened dont make you a bad artist. He does amazing work... call Jay for your next tattoo....

Hes the best tattoo artist Ive seen in this neck of the woods! I took him an idea and he made it my own! I already had good expectations when I went to get my SECOND tattoo from him. Boy did he go above and beyond with my (already great) expectations! His work is just amazing! I have two tattoos by him, and already plan on a third in the fall!

Having thought about it long and hard, I visited Custom Concepts while on vacation in Destin. I brought my design with me and booked an appointment with Chris. He worked with me to make sure it was exactly what I wanted, and he did an amazing job. This is my first and probably only tattoo, and I absolutely love it. I could not be more pleased. My husband and I both got tattoos here while on vacation, Mack met with us explained​ thoroughly no pressure at all, she was very helpful and accommodating, mark was our artist that gave us both tattoos​, I cant say enough about his talent as well as putting me at ease, we are in our 50s it was my first, I am a cancer survivor and have always wanted the breast cancer symbol my husband wanted our grandkids names on him, mark was amazing, I would recommend there shop to everyone, thoroughly impressed. I got my first tattoo at Custom Concept Tattoo in Destin in February-March of 2015 and I was very impressed with the attention to detail by Terry (the owner) and the staff. Terry is an artist that takes pride in his work. He wasnt trying to rush and get his money; instead he took extra care in making sure the artwork would be something that he himself would like. The tattoo looks great! All the instructions they gave me for the aftercare worked just fine. I highly recommend this place for anyone in the Emerald Coast looking to get some artwork done.
