I LOVED this museum. It is incredible architecture and history. The tour guide was so knowledgeable. A lot of the exterior you can wander for yourself but its totally worth it to take the guided tour inside of Cabots home. My group bought a Groupon for the museum which helped with the cost. I would recommend getting on the sign up list for the tour EARLY because they do fill up and then you have to wait for the next tour. They have a neat touristy gift shop that doesnt gouge you. You might want to wear real shoes opposed to sandals because the home is a pueblo carved out of the hill; it is quite dusty and dirty. My favourite part of this attraction is that it wasnt crowded and it wasnt boring!

This museum was such a treasure. My tour guide Irene was friendly and informative. It was awesome to hear about the history of desert Palm Springs. And the ambition from Mr. Cabot.I would recommend getting there about 30 minutes early so you can explore the grounds. Bring your camera there are plenty of locations that are picture worthy. The staff on the premises are also very informative in regards to the area so don’t hesitate to ask for any questions. I would recommend a spot just to get a better feel for what Desert hot Springs has to offer.

If you are in Desert Hot Springs staying at one of the spas in town this is a great museum to visit to see the history of this interesting place you really get to see how the town of Desert Hot Springs became what it is today. You get to find out about Cabot Yerxa and his interesting life and what made him want to move to the desert. During his time here he discovered water and built this Pueblo. The tour is $13 and it is worth the money being able to go inside the Pueblo was great and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had some insightful stories about Cabot and this place.

Unexpected find in the middle of the Dessert Hot Springs suburbs, this is an intriguing and eccentric museum about an equally eccentric man with an intriguing life’s story. The tour is well worth the trek if you happen to be passing through the area and a fun place to explore.

Fascinating piece of history, with excellent tour guides to tell you the story. Lots of parking, with room for a few buses or RVs. You can walk the extensive grounds for free - lots of shady spots, but bring water if its sunny and hot. Two rooms are free to enter, while theres a reasonable fee for the tour of the rest of the house. In my opinion, its definitely worth it. Small gift shop, but no refreshments for sale (including bottled water, although there is a drinking fountain near the restrooms). The grounds are quite natural, meaning its not a smooth walk. Inside, theres a tight flight of stairs and rather close quarters. Those with limited mobility may have issues, but the guides can probably tailor the tour to your abilities. Very interesting local history, definitely worth your time.

If your passing by the area its worth stopping by to take a look. I took the (I think it was) $12 or $13 tour which lasted about an hour and gave you an inside tour of part of the house. If youre in a hurry or dont want to spend the money, you can walk the grounds for free and watch the informative video in the gift shop to learn about the interesting life of Cabot.

Better than I expected, the area has a lot of buildings and details to look at. They have managed to keep a great atmosphere and it was really cool to walk around here.It is free to visit if you just want to look around, a lot of the places are open for visitors. There is also drinking water and a bathroom right at the entrance. If you want to see the main building you have to take the guided tour, which is $13. Sadly I didnt have time to do it.

Pueblo House built by cabots true his house is different , one of the first in Desert Hot Springs , Worthy of the national registry ? No , in the tour of his house they glorify this Cabots fellow for building such a weird house. But they hardly mention anything about the real true natives of this land the lndians. There are many stories about so called pioneers who are really invaders !! Lets hear some stories about the Desert Hot Springs Indians.
