Cozy yet contemporary movie theatre. Plenty of close parking.

This movie theater is small but so charming. The best part of the theater is the cafe options like coffee or tea and the fact that they only show 1-2 previews before the movie. Their prices are lower than most movie theaters around the Des Moines area too. Overall, I would love to watch another movie here!

Ultra hip, relaxed atmosphere. Film choices were great! Not since leaving Uptown Minneapolis have I found such a cool place. The decor is especially fabulous and swanky. Lovely!

Great, small theater experience! I attended a busy matinee show on a Sunday. Bathrooms were tiny but everything seemed clean and well kept. The cafe is more of nice concession stand, make sure to look up the menu before you decide to skip lunch. Beer and coffee were available as well. Will definitely be back!

Fleur is a wonderfully run indie theatre showing mostly indie and prestige films. They have 4 screens each with nice comfortable (non reclining seats) and a wonderful drink/food menu! The interior decor is very retro- they repurpose film reels for tables! Lots of parking too. Definitely a great moving going experience.

Fleur Cinema is always a wonderful movie going experience. I just adore the art deco lettering above each entrance. Large parking lot, high quality movies courteous staff & treats besides the usual popcorn & soda... and restrooms on both sides of the theater! A Des Moines classic!

For a theater this definitely deserves five stars. It has a really great feel and vibe to it. The workers are very friendly and helpful. The prices are cheaper than most theaters, but even if it were the same price as others this would still get five stars. Its not updated and fancy looking like other theaters, but it is a great environment. It has comfortable seats. They have healthy nutritional options for snacks. Im sure if you wanted to snack on fresh veggies they wouldnt mind you bringing fresh snacks that they didnt offer. Very nice place. Great environment. Good people.

A homey little place I had no idea about til we saw they were one of the few theaters showing Seberg. A nice experience!

Single handedly the best movie theater in town. Possibly in the whole U.S. With such amazing staff and a strong selection of snacks to purchase for the increased enjoyability of my movie watching experience. I thoroughly enjoy spending long hours within this building. I may be bias since I work there.

I only want to see movies at the Fleur. Great staff fabulous popcorn with real butter and weve always had a wine and beer option, and the previews are less than 10 minutes. So you really should get there on time.

It was Ok, honestly, but I was expecting a bit more. I was expecting a more full Cafe in the form of coffee. You can get coffee and add sugar and creamer at a counter out of the way. The gas station kwick trip honest to God had a much much better and more varied coffee bar type area. Everyone was nice and it was clean and a fine movie experience, but just disappointed in the main draw for us, the Cafe.

This place is totally awesome. A little old school, a little cafe in a theater, a lot of good things.Service was expedient and efficient. The theater was comfortable with bonus cup holders.Fact is, if we have a choice we prefer the Fluer to most any other movie house in town.

Super cool little theater. Kind of a weird location to have an indie theater like this and is a little out of the way for me, but coming from Iowa City, it was cool to be in a spot that gave off similar vines to Film Scene. Love that you can order drinks while watching and like the sense of community you feel being in there with other local film lovers!

Nice independent movie theatre. Their concessions are cheaper than other big chains and popcorn tastes great. They get nice selections of movies too. Beats any corporate owned chain.

Seriously the best. No annoying pre-movie advertisements/trivia and a limited number of previews/trailers. Lots of parking. Nice beer/wine/coffee selection.

Nice little theater. Well taken care of and a reasonable price. Seats are a bit uncomfortable but ok to sit in for 2 hours. Love that you can have a beer while watching your flick.

Used to be 5 stars and my favorite place to watch a movie but the quality of their popcorn is much worse than it was a year ago. In fact, didnt even bother finishing the bag last night.

Des Moines’s place to go to watch independent film! The facilities are nice considering it is an independent film theater. Popcorn was great! I’m really just happy that this theater exists to begin with. They have cafe and alcoholic beverages if you’re interested. I haven’t gotten the chance to try so I don’t know how good they are.

It is always delightful to go to a movie there. The staff is ever ready to serve you. Love the movies for the most part that they show in their theaters. Clean facility and they great coffee, regular and decaf. Bonus!!

The best place in Des Moines to watch a movie. The food is great and cheap. Even the popcorn is cheap! And dont miss out on the Italian sodas. Nice place to go see a movie with other adults...children are rarely seen. Most impressive - they do not show 20 minutes of commercials and 15 minutes of previews before a movie. Usually just two quick previews. So, get there on time!

Its many fans are absolutely right - this is the best cinema in Iowa. A uniquely curated selection of quality films from Hollywood and around the world in comfortable, elegant surroundings. The beer and wine are a cut above, the baked goods are lovely, and the staff are always pleasant and friendly. And yes, its also a cafe - youre welcome to stop by just for a coffee.

This theater has a cool vibe, with a bit more of a nostalgic feeling. The price for everything was comparable if not more reasonable than the bigger theater chains, and the variety of snacks/foods/drinks was good. Very clean and not super busy, either.

I love movies at Fluer Cinema and Cafe. Prices are good, movie selections excellent. No ads and few previews.

Best place, hands down to see a movie in Des Moines. Great selection of independent and foreign films, excellent venue, comfortable seats, excellent popcorn and even drinks and light food should you need. Helps make Des Moines a better place to live!

I love going to the Fleur. It always has gray movies for adults. You can show up pretty late and get a ticket. The concession is really great. Its an old fashioned multiplex and we live it.

Cute little cinema with reasonable prices and a selection of more off-beat films. Seating isnt very comfortable though, and if youre watching a quieter film you may experience sound bleed from the other movies.

Their film selection is mediocre, but they have okay seats and a good concessions area.It’s the only place you can see international films so you kinda have to take what you get in Des Moines.

Girlfriends and I went to the Iowa Golden Globe Award night viewing party. I even won a T shirt. Some had dressed up, some had on jeans. Interesting snack bar goodies. Scott a roos, wine, hot & cold teas. Yes, of course popcorn. Liked the parking. Staff is friendly.

Great small theater. Screens are actually pretty big. Nice fresh snacks and they are reasonably priced. They have some of the big name movies but also show some of the unique not so well know movies. Great place.

Really nice throwback cinema. Not stadium style seating. But clean and friendly. Nostalgic furnishings. I especially like how they put the names of each movie above the doors to each theater in block letters. Movie Pass accepted.

I absolutely love this theater! They are always showing fabulous independent films and sometimes throwbacks. They also have a wonderful coffee shop with local beer and wine too. Such a gem with an old b time feel.

The theater wasnt too bad but the movie with Adam Chandler and it was very very bad I would not recommend it for anybody.

Great lunch place on the weekend. I went to see Phantom Thread at 11 am on a Saturday and there were a lot of people there. It was a nice break while I was out doing errands. Great choice for food and drinks and the staff are a lot of fun too

It small, but good. They have fantastic snacks and drinks. And the place just looks amazing, it has a real feel of effort being put into the look of the place. And the seating is nice, even in the front row the view is good.

I love Fleur Cinema! Not only do you support one local business, but you are supporting several, as they have local beer, coffee, and chocolate for sale. And it gets movies that you cannot see anywhere else in the area.

Ive been there before. It is a great place. My friend and I had fun trying to remember all the actors and actresses. That were on the wall. We were able to name all but one.

While free-standing single or limited-screen theaters are declining in the Age of the Multiplex, the Fleur is thriving.Theres a reason for that. Would you like coffee or an adult beverage with your date in a cinemaphile atmosphere? Fleur has you covered. Feel like an actually home-made brownie or rice-chew instead of popcorn with your show? Try finding that down at the chain theater! Ohhhh, with REASONABLE concession and ticket prices, did I add that? Its not glass, chrome and stainless-steel with self-serve multi-pour dispensers for your drinks, and add-your-own popcorn butter, but I like that.Ask the kid at the chain what your movies about, and theyll probably know the principle cast. Ask a server at the Fleur about the cinematography and you might get a fifteen-minute compare-and-contrast. If youre waiting for theater seating, there are comfortable group seating areas in the lobby. You can play one-up guessing games with the movie icons on the wall posters, see how many of these films you know by image alone, said servers to be final arbiters.Its a little bit hard to find, set-in on the east side of a rather busy section of the same-named street (look for the wedge-shaped Fleur Cinema signs at the street entrance north of the Hy-vee), but, for a different kind of movie experience, worth the hunt. Highly recommended.

This is the place to go for those unique films that just dont get play time at the larger cinemas. I love the concession options which include not typical cinema fare. The setting has that artsy feel to it. Wonderful experience.

My favorite place to see movies. They always have the movies that never come to my town. Best popcorn anywhere, and you can get a beer or glass of wine instead of soda if you prefer. (Wine and popcorn--an excellent combo!)

The Fluer features highly rated adult movies in comfortable theaters. Arrive on time for no ads and only two previews of common attractions precede the feature. The lobby is replete with movie posters and comfortable seating. Substantive snacks, beer, and wine are available at the snack bar.

Its nice to have a theater that plays indie films, but this was first time here and I was quite disappointed with the overall experience. Movie & consessions were all priced like youd expect at any theater, but if you want a cinema cafe experience you wont find it here.As a cafe, food/drinks should be served as a cafe. Everything here is served like its a convenience store. Pouring beer in to a plastic solo cup, thats something you do on nickle beer night at a college bar. It makes the beer taste bad. Get some glasses, like a cafe would have. Dont give me a blank stare when I ask why you pour my Guinness in to a disposable plastic cup. If youre going to sell beer, and be a cafe hire people who know and care about what they serve. This goes for the cakes/snacks that are served to. All of it is plastic clamshell items with plastic cutlery. Be a cafe an serve on a plate with real cutlery.

The Fleur is a wonderful place to get away from the craziness of the west side and see a great movie.

Nice that beer and other drinks are available here. They show some mainstream movies here, but are better known as a place to go see those movies that you will not find anywhere else.

My friends and I consider this our go to cinema because of good choice of movies, great concession prices, friendly staff and just all around comfort. We always select Fleur over all other theaters unless we cant find a specific movie which doesnt happen very often. It helps that we are southsiders.
