I went to My Favorite Murder here but have been a long time fan of the shows they put on here. There have been some great upgrades to the facility and there is not really a bad seat in the house. The bartenders are amazing as well as many of the other staff members that show you to your seat. I am assuming that those who are reviewing this facility know what it is like but definitely recommend this place for a show. It’s also located really close to the bustling Court Avenue.

Who needs to travel to a big city venue when we have one right here?! Our Civic Center is convenient, comfortable, classy, and hosts every kind of show with ease. Clear sight lines and great acoustics make every seat worth the price of admission. Our Des Moines Symphony plays second fiddle to no one! Every concert seems flawless and the program schedule has elements and variety to engage listeners of every age.

We went to two shows in a row that started 30 minutes late. We work nights and pick these events based on whether we can go and still have time to get ready and go to work. Starting this late makes planning difficult and makes us feel stressed and rushed. Everything else was great! If they start their shows when the ticket and website says they are going to, I would happily give 5 stars!

Boyz II Men was great that being said the concert ended a half hour early and 30 minutes into the show the bar closed terrible you pay all that money and then get treated like trash. Des Moines you be ashamed of yourself

Clean facilities, friendly staff, well set up and several exits help it clear out however the lack of a middle aisle was really disappointing. If you need to get out of your seat you have to crawl over so many people and other theater goers are forced to do the same. Not terrible but a little distracting and seems hazardous.

They do not give much information on their online ticket ordering system. They tell you when the tickets go on sale but do not say that they are a queue system based on when you go online, nor do they tell you when they open up their queue. (And if they do they dont make that info easy to find or readily available). Also they state that tickets bought by secondary sellers or brokers will be refunded and voided, yet while I was still in queue to buy tickets I could log onto multiple different ticket selling sites and find available tickets there. So their screening system for that is near useless. Overall I wasnt able to get the tickets I wanted because of a lack of helpful information on their part and the inability to keep large ticket vendors from buying out blocks of tickets and selling them at inflated rates.

The events they host are always a treat. Recently went for the kids dance concert and loved it! Parking can be a bit of a challenge so plan on taking additional time to park on the street or use one of the ramps with event parking charges.

One of the rudest people I ever talked to and she is the director of ticketing. Stay away from this place as even the supervisors find that it is fine to yell at their customers.

Paying $300 to see a show like Hamilton is like paying $25 for a loaf of bread. Unreal. I got my London tickets for 37 pounds and my flight for $199.00. Just thoughts.
