Glory and Dan held a private lesson for myself and two friends in September. First and foremost, they were so accommodating. We were in town for just the weekend and Glory graciously agreed to host us with just 24 hour notice. While we werent looking for permit training, Glory pulled out all of the stops to make sure we were knowledgeable before heading to the range. We really appreciated how thorough, thoughtful and kind Glory and Dan both were. Their warm personalities put us at ease and made us feel comfortable and confident when handling firearms for the first time. They were also so patient and answered every single question that we asked. I would highly recommend Safe and Secure Training; Glory and Dan are amazing!

The best instructor teacher I had since Ive bein out of svhool. Its worth the money cuze not only he teaches you how to shoot but how to be safe hes not only teaching you how to handle the gun but how to do it safe. Hes a great teacher and I would recommend for anyone whos wants to take their gun permit class come here. Great teacher and he explains everything very good makes you not only be safe but he also does all the paperwork for you and tells you everything you need to do great guy.

Dont waste your time looking/shopping around, just go here! Dan and Glory are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful regardless of your comfort level with firearms. They take the time to make sure you dont leave with any unanswered questions, and ensure that the paperwork you fill out will be correct the first time. Not only do they provide the necessary information for firearm safety, but they also go through laws you should be aware of when carrying a firearm. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

I took a firearms class in college and really enjoyed it. I was looking into getting my pistol permit and found Safe and Secure Training after a quick search. I saw all the 5 star reviews and decided to give them a call for a little more info on their classes. I called half an hour before they closed for the day, and Dan invited me down to talk and see what class would be right for me. After meeting with him, I immediately knew I wanted to take my class there. I ended up going with his wife Glorys class, which was specifically for women just a couple days later. It had been a while since I used a firearm so I was a bit nervous, but Glory took her time with the four of us to make sure we had everything down before moving on. The classroom portion was very informational and fun, and the range time was awesome! In the womens class, we got to try several types of firearms, and we each got to shoot for about 20 minutes. Glory showed us how to correct jams within the guns, which was very useful. After the range, we had lots of help filling out all our paperwork back at the classroom. If anyones looking for a small class with experienced and friendly people, I would definitely recommend Safe and Secure Training!

I absolutely enjoyed my experience with Dan and Glory. I learned a lot of knowledge during the class and out on the range. Dan really made the class fun but also very serious when it came to the importance of safety in and out of the classroom.. They both were very flexible with my schedule, and also helped me fill out my paperwork. I had attended the women’s only class today. I highly recommend this class. The class was small so we had a lot of one on one personalized training. Glory went through many different safety procedures and made me feel comfortable and confident in all the concepts we covered. I didnt want my house to be a sitting duck (gun free zone) anymore. Not knowing anything about guns or the legal process involved, I began to do research. It was frustrating, to say the least. I contacted a few places and either got no response or was dismissed within 30 seconds (phones ringing off the hook). After expanding my search radius, I came across Safe and Secure Training. Though rather out of my way, I called and left a message. Indeed, Dan called me back and took his time answering all my, no doubt silly questions and addressing all my concerns. Definitely felt like I started to gain traction. I drove down, liked what I saw and signed up both myself and my wife for a class. The sessions were absolutely great, very professional, organized, informative, interactive (not leaving anybody behind)..., you name it. Yes, this is just the beginning, but within two quick evenings we went from not knowing anything to having a very good idea about the privileges and responsibilities of owning a gun. Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending an all women class. I enjoyed it. The class instruction was extremely informative and hands on. Glory, our instructor is brilliant. Went to an all Women pistol permit class. The class was great as it was a small class of all women with a woman instructor/trainer. You get a comprehensive one on one attention. You are able to train with multiple types of weapons and in a stress free comfortable environment. You get a lot of great information in this class. Safe and Secure also gets all the paperwork ready for each member of the class along with the instructions relating to each individual Town/City. The instructor goes through the entire paperwork with the class members, notarizes it and provides photos as applicable. Basically, when you leave the class you are ready to submit the completed paperwork to your Town/City. They offer many other types of courses/training if you want to continue more hands on training. Highly recommend.

Best experience - small class - women only. Tremendous amount of personal attention. Highly recommended far better than classes held elsewhere. Glory and Dan are GREAT. Lots of hands on training. Glory helped with the paperwork which saved a lot of my time. Dan was great at the range and encouraged me and made me feel very comfortable. I feel confident that if and when I decide to purchase a firearm that I can call on either Glory or Dan for their input and expertise. Dont go anywhere else this program is fabulous. I talked to others who took the class somewhere else and the class sizes were 15 plus. The all women class only had 5 participants so you received much more personalized training. Dan and Glory are the BEST instructors!! Hands down!! The ladies only class was personal and she was able to work with each of us. The small class enabled her to give me the personal attention I needed while firing the guns at the range. This was so important for me as I was very nervous for the first time. I felt confident and much safer handling a pistol after taking this course. Worth every penny!!! Glory makes you feel extremely comfortable, safe, and confident. She also walked us through filling out all neccessary paperwork step by step to obtain our pistol permit. I cannot say enough about the quality of training they offer! You just have to see for yourself. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Glory and Dan were AMAXING!!!! Took the women only class and was taught everything from gun types, calibers, ammunition, gun maintenance and range safety protocols. Also touched on federal and state laws as as well what to do scenarios. Had 3 hours of class time (no 20 yr old movie) as well as 2 hours at the range to apply all you learned in class.They even took care of our paperwork and pics for us so we can go ahead and get fingerprinted (if needed per town) for submission.I cannot say enough good things about them. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!!!!

I attended this class with my partner for the first time and we had such an amazing experience. We had so much fun, and we learned new permit laws. The most energetic, professional, and helpful couple I’ve ever seen execute a business. Despite COVID-19, Dan and the Boss Lady(Glori) prepared a very informational presentation virtually that highlights key details and much needed facts. The hands on training is very direct, motivates your attention span and you always leave with a smile. They will also guide you through the application process, help fill out paperwork for both CT and Florida. Definitely worth every penny. For this to be a virtual class it was great, and extremely informative! Dan is a great instructor he takes the time to make sure everyone understands all of the information. Just finished the classroom/lecture portion online. Dan made the time fly by because he was very interactive with the entire group, for the entirety of the lecture. I thought I had a pretty good understanding of the laws in my State and the proper handling of a firearm, but I learned a great deal of new information, as well as what information I had wrong. What a great overall experience. He definitely went above and beyond other courses, from what I hear from friends that went to other instructors. Took the online class during Covid 19 shutdown. It was awesome! Dan is very knowledgeable about firearms from the Laws in CT to other places like a Florida and Arizona. Class was jam packed with information and was verbally interactive. He asked you questions throughout to make sure you have an understanding. He was concentrated and focused on making sure you weren’t left behind. I highly recommend Dan and his classes to you!He offers a variety of training as well. You won’t be disappointed.

Saturday June 20, 2020Yesterday I had the best experience taking the training course for gun safety and instruction with both Dan and Gloria Bulkley. I have taken several safety and instruction courses in my lifetime but this course surpassed them all. Dan and Gloria teach a class that co-insides with the USCCA way of instruction and go into great detail. I learned a lot more in this course than the others I have taken. Both Dan and Gloria were very explicit and pointed out right away what I and the others in the group were doing and stopped everything until we did things properly. Both help with the paperwork, take your photos and notarize. I recommend them highly.

The course covered safety (first and foremost), an interactive overview of the handgun, understanding the law, the permit application process, and finally some time at the range.Dan was both informative and considerate, and he led a very engaging class. I really enjoyed the class. This was my first encounter with a pistol, and this class REALLY made me FULLY understand the importance of gun safety. Its one thing to hear about it or see it through someone else (or TV) but to actually hold and shoot the pistol really gives you a BETTER understanding on how powerful it is!!Dan and Mike were very thorough when they explained and STRESSED the importance of safety when using , storing and handling a pistol !! From checking the chamber , loading the magazine, the 3 ALWAYS of gun safety to the proper stance.....Mike and Dan made me feel comfortable and confident about handling a pistol.

I am very glad to have taken this course with Dan at Safe and Secure training. Like many people, I have been shooting for many years and have developed habits that are either wrong or just not the best way to do things. To have an expert watch your actions and provide real time feedback and then show the better way of doing something is what I was looking for and got from this course. I highly recommend training with Safe and Secure for beginners or seasoned shooters to see what you may be able to do better. Also, I would be remiss if I did not mention the excellent emphasis on SAFETY first.

Highly recommend Dan for any type of training you need. He is very thorough on what he teaches and goes over everything you need to know. He goes at the leakers pace and doesn’t just cram information down your throat. He even sends all the paperwork ahead of time so he can make sure it’s filled out properly. Great online course, very interactive and in depth

Took my class 1st Saturday of December. Have to say extremely informative, helpful, very professional. All of my questions were answered and I left knowing a lot more than I thought I would. The instructor Dan is friendly and down to earth, teaches from experience and has a great program. I would recommend to all! He makes sure you leave with the most knowledge on safe and secure training. Will definitely be back for some extra classes. Rosaly

My thought process has change in regards to owning a fire arm and keeping my family safe. The training went by fast but a lot of information was given, and even more information was given to study and take home. I would highly recommend friends and family to take advantage of the course. After taking the course I feel more confident about my rights and how to be more aware of my safety even more so with being a Gun owner

As a small woman I question how I would protect myself. This course has opened my eyes to how I can PROPERLY protect myself and my family. They keep it to a small group which really allows for open questions and practicing skills to on a more comfortable and confident level. Absolutely recommend!

Dan was an EXCELLENT instructor! I called on New Years Eve to inquire about some personal training to familiarize myself with my firearm and he fit me in that day. For only an hour, I learned a lot more than I was expecting and then some. He is superb with the amount of knowledge he can provide to students. Very professional, kind, patient, and very at my pace.
