Had an awesome walk. We viewed a Red Tail Hawk and a Screech Owl. This was the first time viewing an owl in the wild. What an awesome experience. It was just sitting there on the branch. We have walked here dozens of times and never have we had the opportunity. We have viewed a few different Red Tail Hawks here and many Deer and lots of different birds. Reinstein Woods is a wonderful gem of Buffalo New York. If you would like a chance to see an owl seems like the best chance is at dusk. We have always heard the calls but never got a chance to see one. Thank you!!!!

Its a great park and nature preserve. Unfortunately the Education Center and other areas were closed to COVID-19, but Im assuming if open it would easily get 5 stars. Their acute attention to social distancing was assuring and well received. Definitely a great place for a quick escape to nature.

Please respect this special place! Reinstein is marvelous and unique area that I’ve been coming to for years to take pictures of the diverse wildlife that shifts from season to season. I love it here! It’s been troubling over the last few weeks to see people kick rocks, or chase certain animals, not to mention the number of people riding bikes, walking their dog, smoking or blaring music as they walk about - all of which is prohibited. This is a delicate ecosystem and it needs to be respected as such, so people can enjoy it for years to come!

Reinstein Park has become one of my favorites place. I love how everything is reserved and the fact we can actually see wildlife. The quietness and the openness is alluring and an escape from everyday life. I spend hours there every time and always find something different each time I go. I have showed so many people this park and we all love it! I love the long trails and the beautiful lily pads!

This park is amazing. We love to go there to walk on the trails and take pictures. It is beaufitul year round, even in the winter. Fall is the best though.Yesterday I unfortunately saw more than one person walking on the trails while smoking (I wonder where they throw the filter tip after smoking ). I also saw some plastic bags on the ground. People who dont like nature, and to preserve it, shouldnt go to parks.

Quiet, peaceful trails as long or short as you can handle, great education on composting, wildlife. Limited parking lot restricts the trails from getting too crowded. Every once in awhile deer will walk the trail

My husband and I walk here often. It’s beautiful to explore. I like seeing the wildlife and foliage. I haven’t seen a frog or a turtle yet. I only heard the frogs. I have found painted rocks this year I rehide. I also painted 5 of them and scattered them around the park for people to find. Hope it brightened someone’s day. (LG 2020) Rehide or keep it. I think it’s a fun thing to do especially in 2020. I posted the pictures too on the website.

The Reinstein Woods are a real treasure in the middle of busy suburban neighborhood. Walking through the preserve is like escaping into a calming and serene environment complete with small lakes, ponds, and a multitude of trees. Visited in the fall just as the trees were turning, and did not want to leave. Very glad these woods were set aside by the original owners. As an out of state visitor I envy the local residents who can enjoy this nature preserve any time they wish.

Going here is always such an adventure. We pick out our paths as we come to a fork in the the road and we have had a lot of fun and discovery as we run into different scenes and animals. It was a fun way to be outdoors during Covid lockdown and bring the family outdoors. Nothing is as freeing as nature!

My friend and I had my 2 year old daughter and our support dog, which the sign said was fine to have with us and there was nothing online about him not being able to be there, we were told within 10 minutes we had to leave. Our dog was on a leash, well behaved and quite. The lady was very rude and argumentative so of course we just left. There was a giant snake on the way out anyways .

The Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve is an excellent place to go to when you just want to unwind and take a stroll. There are several animals you can see there. One time, while I was there, I saw ducks, butterflies, deer, turtles, and some squirrels. I, likewise, loved that it is a magnificent place to take amazing pictures at too.

Checked this out for the first time today. Incredible park! Very scenic and surprisingly close to the metro area. My two small children were thrilled with the amount of wildlife we saw and the trails were well laid out and easily walkable. There were many programs and tours in progress while we were there, I loved seeing so much activity to support the wilderness. We cant wait to go back.

Great trails to observe wildlife in any season. There are even cross country ski rentals and snowshoe rentals in the winter during building hours. A variety of public programs are offered year round. It is correct that Reinstein Woods does not allow dogs, and this is clearly marked. This is for a very good reason. Reinstein Woods is a preserve and the intention is to protect the land with minimal impact. Studies have shown that dogs disturb wildlife.
