Great to get back! Haven’t been in 25 years. Things have changed and some things remain the same. I liked the old seats better, with the white covers and big red armchairs! Same great indie and foreign films and NO DUBBING! Subtitles are much better!

A gem. Comfortable, clean, senior discount,Refreshments available. Plenty of parking.Beautiful painted ceiling. ( audio a bit too loud at times ) Showing live Opera/ Ballet series besides current movies. Lots of steps to main entry; look for side entrance. A little hidden; near the Cape PlayHouse and Museum of Art and Encore Restaurant. Main Street or Hope Ln entry (Dennis).

If retro theater going is your bag, this place is for you. They have cool festivals and special showings. Worth a go if you like a place thats got a good deal of history . Not extravagant... kind of bare bones structure with murals on the walls. Academy of Music it aint.

We thoroughly enjoyed a three-hour showing of Les Misérables -The Staged Concert this evening. This is a wonderful old theater with comfortable seating. Reasonable prices, and they sell beer and wine and more traditional movie fare in the lobby. Our only criticism is that the sound system seems to be all behind the screen. A good strong surround system would have made Les Miz magnifique.

Over the years I have loved this place... the vibe, the movies, the whole thing.... and this summer - 2019 - what happened to the good, edgy movies. Line up looks very thin and rather crap IMHO. New managements. What is the story....

Lovely old theater in Dennis Village. Beautiful mural on the ceiling of the theater that has to be seen to be appreciated. There are 317 individual arm chairs to sit on that are quite comfortable in keeping with the historic aspect of the building. Top rated first run movies are shown along with screenings of the Bolshoi Ballet, Theater of the Deaf, Opera and other cultural showings.

A lovely older venue, well maintained with a great mural painted on the ceiling. This theater shows great movies that are not necessarily the ones that you would find at your typical multi-screen cinema complex. They also host live music events on stage as well as discussions on some newly released independent films. It is always my first place to look to see what is playing.

The most uncomfortable seating ever. All they did was dress up the pigs they call seats. Often showings look to be worthy, but looking forward to 2 hours, or so, of pain makes the decision easy.

Great theater! They often have more unusual films mixed in with the big ones. They do opera and ballet showings from London and Russia I think. They have concerts and other events and serve beer and wine during special events. The vaulted ceiling is gorgeous and historic. The staff is usually very pleasant. I love going to this theater- it is always a treat!

The Cape Cinema was and is my favorite movie theater. Besides Live opera from NYC and special movies it offers NT live Theater from London. So many treats in such a wonderful venue! Not to forget the many choices of snacks! May the theater continue to thrive.

Review №39

Love the movies shown here, not your typical local movie theater showings, and not your typical theater. Rockwell Kent and _____ (I cant remember her name) painted a magical mural on the entire ceiling which is dome shaped, and instead of theater seats there are armchairs arranged in rows. The decor in the entrance to the theater reflects its history. They hold special events at the theater that involve a personal appearance by a movies director, or someone featured in a film, for a question and answer period or a discussion. We are most fortunate on Cape Cod to have this gem in the area.

What a wonderful discovery! A lesser-known Cape Cod gem full of local color and history. Discretely selected movies and small live productions on a proscenium stage. Built in 1930, the vaulted auditorium ceiling features a dreamy Deco mural by Rockwell Kent. Seats about 300 in separate arm chairs. Staff is friendly, enthusiastic and helpful.

Bought tickets online but they have no process for getting people through the door. Had to wait for 20 mins in the rain with everyone who hadnt bought tickets. Buying online guarantees you a seat but no process for getting you physically inside. Dont care how charming this place is supposed to bs. Unorganized, unprofessional. I will never be back. Maybe if and when they join the real world
