Large area to explore. First tail we found was near the marina and was flooded. Saw many people playing frisbee golf on a snowy/windy day, must be a fun course. Beach area has a neat playground. Might have to come back in summer to try out the swimming.

Played disco golf there this morning and it was a great course some very challenging holes. Overall a good course. The Lake is very nice with a 800 Long Beach great camping area with paved spaces. This was one of the nicest Midwestern state park step I have seen.

**Far off the road you will hear little to no traffic. All 214 camp sites are located within 4 loops with all-inclusive bathhouses in the center of each circle (meaning each bathroom contains a toilet, shower, sink & bench). Each site is spacious and many are shaded.**Sites are ELECTRIC only (not sure if any have water or FHU but weve never seen or been offered any in our several stays). A water spigot is located in the back of each loop. So fill your fresh water tank before you arrive & use bathhouse too.**Close to Waldo, OH - famous for bologna sandwiches & a great sausage shop is just north of the park. Columbus, Marion, Richwood, Marysville, Delaware, and Prospect are nearby (we have relatives in all of them!)Playgrounds. Boat launch. Great beach. Reasonable nightly rates. Book in advance if you wish to stay Fri or Sat as they are booked on these nights most of the time. Weekdays are quiet.**Park employees clean the bathhouses daily and natural resource officers drive thru daily. You will feel safe. The long drive in & out of the park will reward you with frequent sightings of deer, squirrel and birds.**Booking the park via ReserveAmerica is just a headache (and their accuracy of what sites are booked are often wrong) so we try to arrive on a weekday as the office can reserve & check you in on ARRIVAL DAY only. No advance res at the office.Good luck & enjoy your stay!

The state park here is beautiful, but i noticed a couple snakes in the water when we were walking around the pond so I dont know if Id be brave enough to go swimming here.

We like taking our puppies different places with us whether we just go out on our boat or hiking. The beach at Delaware State Park is pretty nice they have a mix of fine, coarse, and rocky sand that does extend into the water but what really sold us was that they have a fenced in area that goes down and out into the water so our dogs were able to play together in and out of the water, use the bathroom, and even rest while we were able swim and walk along the beach together which was so nice. The bathrooms were also pretty close which can be a godsend if you are boating, have kids or puppies. There was some shade on parts of the lake which isnt always the case with all bodies of water. There were some little islands even some you could pull your boat up to. We also liked that Delaware State Park had an awesome boat ramp at Buckeye Grove making getting the boat in and out of the water all that much easier for us. We also liked that it wasnt that much further than Alum Creek just a little bit more north I guess. We are wanting to try camping here next it seems like a pretty nice place to go. A little hard to find with Google unless you are looking for it though.

Picnic by the beach. Very relaxing and the view is beautiful. Great place to go to with kids, a fun jungle gym and caterpillar for them to play on. Or just go to unwind. Going back soon!

The place was fabulous. I liked the quietness of the park. I like the layout of the park. I like the dog parks and playgrounds throughout the park. I like the tornado shelter at the park and we even had to use it. We did not get a chance to walk the trails this time but we have that in mind for next time. Along with the frisbee golf and the youth fishing spot. We r definitely coming back!!!!

Lots of room and a few shelters and grills that are first come first serve. Plenty of space for kids to play. When playgrounds open up there is a nice playground also. Bathrooms are available too. Only gripe I have is the beach could use a little work cleaning it up and getting less rocks and more sand. Other than that great place to take the family

Went Monday August 17 at 9am to rent a pontoon boat for 2 hrs. Parking lot was empty and several pontoon boats docked. The kid at the marinara said all pontoons were reserved and we would be 5th on the waiting list. Why wouldn’t they put that stuff on the website correctly so families aren’t so disappointed after traveling so far. Typical state ran operation.

Unfortunately I cannot find the pics. The park overall is 3.5. It needs some tlc in many places but the beach area is beyond hit. First off, a little sand would be nice.

The campgrounds are lovely with plenty of shade and space and none too far from the restrooms. The campground itself is about a ten minute drive into the park whos entrance is five to ten minute drive from anywhere to eat so dont expect to be able to walk to food unless you brought your own

I grew up around Delaware State Park. Its nowhere near as commercialized as Alum Creek State Park, which is nice. All shower rooms in the campground areas are centralized. Great crappie, bass, and catfish reservoir. Miles of hiking trails. Disc golf.

Ma
Review №31

Granted the day I went was cold and windy I still got to see much of the park. The beach and campgrounds were closed as well as some of the restrooms. Still the view of the water with reflecting trees was beautiful. Then to find leaves and milkweed, always a bonus.

Enjoyed the park, winter is coming and this tree is the last hanging on to fall. Beautiful 3.4 mile drive from SR 23 where the park entrance is, until you reach the campground office. Winter camping is great there. The 3 star rating is because of the bathroom. There is a laundry room on the back which was great. Hot showers, however, there is no heat. The toilet and shower stalls all have a 1.5 opening from the floor till the wall starts. A draft blows across the whole room. While the hot water is great, the artic blast is not.

Great state park with lots of camping spots. Very spread out area with relative seclusion in some camp sites. They have a beach area, marina, picnic pavilion and even a screen for movies outside. Be sure to bring your bug spray, as the mosquitos are some of the worst I have ever experienced. Also, cell coverage is spotty at best - so be prepared to disconnect for a while (or at least take a walk to get coverage). I look forward to camping here again!

We went here to hike. We did the Mink Run to Briar Patch trails. Strava said it was approximately 3 miles. The trails were a mess. Super muddy and hard to walk on. We thought Mink Run was bad until we got to the Briar Patch area. It was water logged which means mosquitos! By the end of the hike were were a mess. Was so happy to get back to the car. There was plenty of parking at the beginning of the trailhead, which is at the main marina. And there are bathrooms there as well. But beware, if bugs and mud aren’t your thing, find another trail.
