This was already a really cool store with a good selection of games, but the service is also exceptional. When I came in to submit a repair ticket for my PS2, the owner went out of his way to take a look at it immediately and replace the laser while I was still at the store. I will be returning and would recommend this location to anyone in the market for classic games

A friend had his high school graduation party there. They were fantastic. They allowed for a very personal celebration PLUS nearly unlimited game play for a couple hours PLUS multi-player game play on the wall projection screen!!! This place is amazing for any gamer!!!

A great retro game store and arcade. While the prices for games arent the best, with such a large selection of new and old games, that can be forgiven. Clarkade also has a great selection of arcade games to play for a pretty good price. One wonderful service is the disc resurfacing machine. For a price, you can make scratched discs work like new, and even test them in-store to make sure they work! Based on the signs put up around the shop, they frequently hold gaming competitions. The staff were very friendly, and unlike other game stores (Gamestop),didnt ask if I needed help every two seconds. Overall, a great place to shop for every type of gamer.

Extremely fair prices, great service, and a charming atmosphere.Sure...it doesnt look all slick like other stores. But it feels like you have a buddy who has collected video games since the 70s and has em organized in a garage. You can find what you need and maybe even find something you never knew you needed!Its like a video game museum but you can play with the stuff and even buy some and take it home!

Huge variety of gaming items old and new anything a gamer could want

I had a gameboy advance SP with a broken left bumper and the owner was able to fix it in about 10 minutes. Worked out a very reasonable price for the parts included in repair and saved me a lot of money over purchasing a replacement device.I was so impressed with the pricing I went back to buy a Nintendo DS and multiple games for my old Wii. He was able to restore most of my scratched up games and even gave a full refund on a game I had bought from him and was crashing. Very good collection of retro boards, consoles, games, and many other items otherwise lost to the past.

This is one of the worst ran places ever. There was teenage kids running the place. They were very rude it took the one chick to clean a few movies almost 30 mins! And just not very clean. I will stick to going to our arcade and video store in our town. I wouldnt go here again one of the movies didnt even work and i am taking it as a lost because its not worth the money in gas to go back.

In the middle of a remodel they say so 5 stars to give the benefit of the doubt. Decent n64 selection compared to south of Dayton. All the game stores down there are just about wiped completely out

Recently stopped in out of boredom and curious to see what PS3 games they may have on hand. I was pleased to find they have a better selection than 2 other places I stopped in that day. The items I purchased were priced fairly and I found it acceptable. Took away 1 star due to the check out counter is hidden and it is very loud inside the store. I wasnt able to clearly make out what the worker was saying to me without leaning in. I also had to wait entirely too long to get checked out. This wasnt the workers fault more so it was his co workers fault. Also there is not enough walking space between the counter and the display cabinets.Those were the only negatives that I encountered. I plan to return and make more purchases in the future!

Absolutely amazing store! Im pretty late to the retro scene and this store really helped me a lot! Ive bought 2 consoles from there, and they all have worked perfectly. The staff and very friendly the owner is a very kind and knowledgable person. They also have the largest selection of games that Ive seen compared to the stores in my area. Ive went to the smash tournaments as well, and everyone was kind! Id highly reccomend if you have any interest in retro gaming!

I love going to Clarkade but this time was a blast. There was a lot of laughter this go around having Mikey and Dustin help me out.I got what I needed and it made my day! Thank you guys

This place was a interesting visit but has its issues. A large number of games are not working or running very poorly and need some serious maintenance. They do have a Sega time traveler! Which Is a very rare and interesting game I was happy to see it. They do have s good selection of vintage games to buy and the staff was nice and helpful. All and all worth seeing but they need to step up their game maintenance.

My husbands PS4 broke we couldnt find a system anywhere. I came across Clarkade on Google. The man was very friendly and knowledgeable. He offers a really good trade in deal.

Chaotic retro game heaven. Stuff everywhere. Coin arcade. They have a high end disk cleaner. Guy cleaned the games I bought and it made huge diffence. Try them before you give up on a skipped disk.

A huge selection of games for sale and some unique arcade games. I especially liked the kiosks from almost every game console. Staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit, Ill be back soon.

This place is awesome. They have all kinds of games from all different systems, including all retro games. They also have an arcade area where you can pay so much for free range gaming all you want. Affordably priced and the staff is friendly.

This place has a decent amount of retro gaming. The negative part is if you happen to come in on a day when the owner is not working you will have little chance of getting a price for one of the many items on display without a tag. This is not exactly professional to ask someone to come back when the owner is working because they havent received enough training. I live an hour away and have had this happen to me 2 out of 4 trips Ive made.

Staff is laid back and chill and often great conversationalists, the prices are a little iffy especially if you find one copy thats marked differently than the same one when theres nothing different between the two but thats not always up to employees. The arcade games have a lot of variety although I wish some worked that are currently down. I also feel that a little cleaning should be done or at least some organization. Overall I love this place and its a great way to kill time and enjoy arcade games that are well liked and loved.

Ill never do business here again. They have no knowledge of how anything works. Went there to sell my Nintendo they put a game in hit the power button and since it didnt come up with the game said it didnt work. Did not even try to get it to work at all.

First of all the selection of video games here is awesome. Most likely if you want something youll probably find it here. Theres so much video game stuff everywhere and arcade machines that it creates a great environment. However, tracking down the employees try to buy or sell something can be a real chore. If its crowded you may have to wait for quite some time. At least most of the prices are pretty good.

This place does a lot with a smaller space. I am constantly amazed at what I find when I come here. Seriously, today I found a DVD of Big Trouble in Little China with cover art Id never seen before and some Beta tapes! I imagine many folks go to play games - they have a lot of old arcade games and consoles and you pay by the hour - or less - to play as many as you want in that time frame. At $7 for an hour, its a good price. Only have a few minutes? You can buy 15 of them for 2 bucks! Want to go for the whole day? Only $20! They have a few pinball games - my favorite - plus air hockey and games of skill and skeeball and a bunch of other things, including a huge inventory of used games, movies and all of kinds of things. The staff is nice and helpful. You can have a lot of fun at a great price here.

I live in Canada but went to visit a friend in Dayton and we stopped by at this game joint. What an awful store. The staff is unfriendly and the guy there was super weird. I felt like was being watched constantly too. The store smelled funny kind of like room spray mixed with body odor mixed with litter box.Didnt end up buying anything because the store seemed sketchy.

I read other reviews and could not understand because we went in there they were very busy only one person behind the counter when I got to talk to him he did very well and during the meantime we were able to play some video games took me back to my childhood I think this place is awesome. Cant wait to take my kids down let them play some old-time video games and buy a couple things.

Came here a year ago and came back today and was hoping things would be better. Stopped in today to check out a few games but ended up buying nothing. I am going to be negative but I will also explain why, I am also going to leave ways the store can improve. One positive - the store has hand sanitizer!1. The store was absolutely filthy and smelled horrible. PLEASE clean the arcades and mop and clean ALL the floors. If you cannot rent a floor cleaner get floor sweeping compound and use pine sol and MOP. Air fresheners will also go a long way. It has not been cleaned in a year, because it looked the same a year ago, so its just gotten worse.2. Games were highly disorganized and boxes were all over the place and it was hard to look at a lot of things. Games were stacked and not side by side, and that makes it nearly impossible to check out games closer. I understand space is a concern but the games in this condition made me not look at anything closer. Behind the counter was a nightmare. Boxes and junk everywhere. Very unattractive to customers. Does not look like a professional store front.3. The Arcades are terribly dirty and unclean - large clumps of dust and dirt over many of them, several games are up front and you cant even see the screens due to outside light. The machines need to be scrubbed with soap and water and dusted regularly. Looks like they have not been wiped off since they were manufactured.4. Layout. Store should not have random arcades up front, and tons of overstuffed shelves in the middle, and cramped tables in the back. You should put shelves up front, tables in the middle, and arcade in the back in the dark, where screens are easy to see. Arcades up front were impossible to see due to outside light. Or better, shelves against left wall, checkout at front right, then tables and then arcades.Good luck and I will be back in the future to see if anything has changed.

My favorite place to visit in Dayton! As a retro game collector the selection is the best in the area, and prices are very fair and can be very cheap even at times! Good selection of arcade games as well and is a great place to spend an hour with friends or family!

The store is a bit messy but they are working on it. That being said if there is a reason to go to Clarkade, Dillon (forgive my spelling) is that reason. He talks you like a person in customer service should. I felt like I was important regardless of whether I was buying something or not. Its that kind of service that makes me want to go in and buy something, which now I have to because of how greatly I was treated while there. I am really glad to see that this place is getting better. I never had anything good to say before and I stand by what happened but with improvements like these and employees like Dillon this place will continue to grow and I hope to be a part of the community that grows with it.

AMAZING GAME STORE. You can play the newest console all the way back to the 70s. Amazing selection, the owner is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to help you as soon as you enter. Hes got my business. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I’ve been to Clarkade quite a few times and the Owners/employees have always been kind and respectful to me and my family. We enjoy the nostalgic arcade cabinets and simply paying to hang out and play games. We plan on attending the Smash tournaments on Tuesday nights and would love to meet other Smash players! Clarkade is awesome!

I took my PS4 in there because it wasnt reading discs. Another shop told me to just buy a new one. The repair guy was able to quickly take it apart and let me know my little one had been storing toys in my disc drive. They were able to repair for a really fair price. They saved me huge from having to buy a new console. Thanks again!!!

This is a great place to take the kids. My kids always have a great time and the staff often makes suggestions for things for them to try so they have a good time. Sometimes I play with them and sometimes I just relax and let them play, but they always ask to come back.

This is the coolest game store Ive ever been to!

I would give 0 stars if I could for the way the manager and the employees have treated me in this store. Mock my choice of anime to other customers who have no idea who iam. Give bottom dollar based on ebay prices unless you bring quality products. Then they want to be mad at you, and offer you 6 dollars for a stack thats easily worth 100. Im a victim of the recent tornados and thought that this would help me make my way thru this turmoil. While yes they had in the past at least given me resale value for what I sold. I appearntly make them spend too much money, in which case you shouldnt be buying and selling. Thats favoritism under the guise of a simple statement we are a video game store, focused on video games.says the store with close to 1000s of dvds movies blurays and selling such for over 100$ after paying you about 50$. If you want to just play some games sure. But if your looking to actually do business be ready for the owners snide underhanded remarks, and after wards if you happen to talk to someone who isnt him be ready for a stone faces robot when you try and sell them something that you used their methods of pricing (going on eBay>filter>completed and sold ticked>offer 40-60%) and know is well worth 50, they return the entire stack to you, obviously not wanting to touch the transaction because the last time they did their job the way they were supposed to and made their purchase like they advertise they will, they were obviously reprimanded, so they didnt want to do it again. Thus making my life a hell when I trusted this place to at least make the sale for quality product. Look at me and basically deny me service because my product costs too much. I will never set foot in this establishment again. I will tell everyone to avoid this place because of their staff. The associate didnt even have enough time to look up at least 3 of the items I was selling then came back looked at me and said Ill give you 6.50$ I said for the one? He said for the stack I said this one is at least 40$ he looked at me like I had told him I kicked his cat, and said we are a video game store, focused on video games. and thats why you lose valuable customers like me who frequented this place. Because your focused on money, and not customer service in one single but unless it has money directly involved the manager and the staff will happily have people waiting their day away as to hope youll just want to play their arcade machines so they can make some money.Arcade meh youd be better to just go to dkeffectgame selection isnt terrible.Younger staff is generally nice. Manager is appearntly a Gandalf sage of all things video game.Smash tournaments looked pretty packed.FYI dont sell your yugioh or mtg cards here or when you see them in the case youll be outraged what you got for what they are selling forrrrrrr.

I love this place. There are so many nostalgic things to look at and play with. Theres always something new that brings me back. I go about once a month to play some arcade games and fill out my NES collection.

We had a fantastic time at Clarkade who hosted our end of the year Soccer Party. The boys had a blast playing Fortnite together on 12 PS4s. I would highly suggest checking them out for similar events. Very competitive in cost.

Store looks like a world war had occurred. Beyond cluttered and disorganized. Smelled terrible too like someone didn’t make it to the bathroom on time - disgusting! Female working here was very rude too and had a constant attitude. Owner is unable to take criticism and puts bad reviews on his door to encourage his customers to harass critics. Disabled his Facebook reviews too and acts like he is the victim after this incident when it was exposed. Very illogical if you believe that is going to make customers return. Must have some form of narcissism. Anyway, too expensive. Acting like they have no competition. Total fail.

Took my 4 year old here for her birthday and had an absolute blast. Some of the games dont work, and theres quite a few little kids ticket games there that dont work, but the owner explained theyre working on repairs so they can have a ticket redemption counter for kids. He wished my daughter happy birthday, explained how to operate certain games and was very friendly. We had a blast, I cant wait to go back again. Great up and coming local business making it possible to share my childhood with my kids.

I went in not knowing what to expect. This was not the typical game store. They had a ton of gaming stuff to look at plus arcade games to play. The employees were really nice and we ended up talking about some of our favorite games.

I called because I had a problem with my N64. I was going to buy a new one because I thought it was not repairable or it was going to be expensive. The guy working was able to isolate the problem quickly and we found out it was only the power brick. They had one in stock! I got a new one and now Im back to 64 heaven. Thanks again!

As a collector, I’m always looking for new shops. I’ve been to most in Dayton and was absolutely stunned when I walked into Clarkade. They had collections of games + systems you only see online, the inventory was beyond impressive. The owner, Michael, was really friendly and showed me some of his more rare stuff. Even cooler, he was stoked just to show me. This will be my go-to spot from now on, I seriously could’ve spent hours in there. Highly recommended to any collector.

I’ve been in twice now and both the owner and also the blonde girl behind the counter were really nice and friendly, just figured id leave this in response to the negativity. 10 points to Gryffindor.

This place has a lot to offer when it comes to retro games, however, I went at 1 pm on a Saturday, and they only had 1 employee working. This becomes an issue when people are bringing trades in, attempting to buy things (literally every single item is under lock and key to some extent), etc. I was going to buy an item, but because there were 3 people waiting to have trades appraised, i decided it wasnt worth the wait. The prices were decent on most things, on par with vgpc or ebay sold listings, but i was a little underwhelmed by what i was offered for my trade. I would definitely reccomend if you are looking for something to add to your collection as a retro gamer, but expect to wait a bit when you get there.

Upon entering, neither me nor my friends felt welcome, and it took at least 15 minutes of just walking around before being greeted by an employee. We were told it was $7 to play, which was fine, but after paying we found out most of the games towards the front you had to pay extra to play them. They didnt explain to us how they operated, so we were genuinely confused. A lot of the games were out of order. The bathrooms/back of the store was super sketchy. $7 for an hour is a bit much to ask for. Another arcade I frequented in TN (in which was cleaner and of higher quality) was $10 for all day. I felt genuinely ripped off.

I saw mixed reviews so I decided to check this place out for myself. This place is AMAZING! They had every game I used to play as a kid. They have an arcade and they have my favorites CENTIPEDE and TEMPEST!!!! There is so much cool stuff to see and play. Ill definitely be back.
