Nice restaurant located in a very fancy hotel in downtown Davenport. Went there for brunch. Very nice atmosphere with courteous and helpful staff. The food was good. Had the Buttermilk Pancakes which were light and fluffy and also had the Eggs Benedict which were also tasty. The coffee however was average. Overall had a good experience.

CJ was incredibly rude and argumentative with my wife about our bill that had additional charges that he had no answers for. This is the Davenport salad we received for $7.00.... Pitifull! This use to have great food and service.... To bad it has gone down hill... Wont be dack.

First-rate atmosphere and very attentive service. The menu was fresh and delightful. Will easily recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Reasonable rates and big portions. Great job.

Brought my parents here for dinner before going to the Adler. Appetizer came, still no drinks. Then we wait and wait for our entree. Waitress asks if we want dessert. She didn’t realize we never got entree. So then they bring out our food, finally. My mom cuts open her salmon and it’s all raw inside. They comped the fish and gave complimentary dessert. But just so awful. For the prices they charge, just ludicrous.

Decided to eat here since we were staying at the hotel. Service was very good. After ordering steaks all around and all at different cooking variations, mine kept having to go back. Our waiter that night was wonderful about the entire thing. He made sure each time to wait for me to check if it was to my liking. He made some very good suggestions for menu choices and was just a joy to have waiting on us. The food was pricey but, so very worth every penny. The cook(s) deserve(s) alot of credit for that wonderfully prepared meal and thank you for letting me send it back to have it fixed to my liking. I greatly appreciate your efforts that night. Oh and those Mango Coladas were the best drink I have had in a long time. Thank your staff for helping make sure we had a memorable experience (on the 17th of Nov), it was just part of a nice weekend away.

Overall great brunch. Atmosphere, food, and the service are all great. Definitely one of the top 3 brunches in the QC. Would recommend to anybody.

Warning Warning Warning 5 of my friends got food poisoning yesterday from the turkey lunch they had together and all had the same thing. Two of the group had something different and did not get sick. The manager won’t call them back. They had to miss work and other important engagements. OMG the health department needs to check this place out! That’s just wrong!!! At least call the people who are sick right now! Damn it! Wow I just called them and they said hold and hung up on me. RUDE!

We have been here several times now. I waited to comment until then because our first visit was not completely great. We made reservations while we were guests at the hotel, for Sunday brunch. They lost our reservation. And then forgot about us while we waited 45 minutes for them to find us a table. Then we kept getting informed that they were doing special stuff for us since we were late for our reservation. In the end our waitress was wonderful... helpful and attentive and managed to snag me a piece of cheesecake when it was all gone from the brunch buffet. The food is quite exceptional. I recommend you try a little of literally everything. My personal favorites: the cinnamon roll they deliver to your table (my partner and I recommend you save some of the frosting to put on top of your French toast. Pro tip!!!) The home fried potatoes, fresh fruit, and the desserts are to die for. The ambience is very nice, casual enough if you want to go that route and sit at the bar for their bloody Mary or mimosa, but definitely fancy enough for us that we enjoy getting all dressed up for it every time. The jazz band is great and we truly appreciate that with each visit. Ive never dined for anything other than brunch so you might have to check out other reviews for more info but the brunch is a must-experience!

The Bix Bistro was excellent. The food was wonderful and the staff were busy but attentive. The Blackhawk Hotel is beautiful and elegant.

My wife and went here on our date night and had an absolutely wonderful dinner! Our meals were so good and prepared exactly how we had asked. Our waiter was outstanding and did a fabulous job. We will be going back for sure. I highly recommend!!

Because I was at a family reunion with my multi racial people who have attitudes. Food was excellent, as were drinks. Must have had a new server, a little confused, but all in all, lovely!

Wonderful. Special day with my daughter at the Adler for the Nutcracker and a special treat for supper. A must repeat experience.

Service was slow, specifically our server at the time. Took long to be sat but it was late so we decided to shrug it off. All the food on the menu looked good, but was pretty average tasting. And very overpriced for the quality. Drinks were excellent but again, overpriced and slow (not due to bartender).We were staying at the hotel so decided to give it another chance for brunch the next day, but after waiting another 10 minutes to be sat (both times the restaurant was nearly empty), we walked away. The restaurant was very visually appealing however. Clean and classic.

Chef Blake’s attention to texture and flavor exceeded my expectations. Kelly’s friendly service was exceptional. All and all the everything was spectacular.

The steak was amazing but the pork chop was dry and overcooked. Going here is only worth it if you get the mushroom steak.

Went to Easter brunch and we were very disappointed. Food was cold. Premade pancakes which were rock hard. Frozen cheesecake as dessert. Ran out of food. Lines were unorganized. Charged for drinks including a childs chocolate milk ( which children were free). Price to expensive for poor quality of food. It was sad to see a great buffet from 2 years ago get so bad this year.

How can you go wrong with music from Josh Duffee and Neal Smith? The only constraint from 5 stars was that some food items were a bit less warm than they shouldve been.

I brought two out-of-town friends here despite never being here before myself. We enjoyed everything--from the great, courteous service to the made-to-order Eggs Benedict. I ordered a Mimosa, which complemented my meal perfectly, and my friend that ordered a spicy Bloody Mary said it was one of the best shed ever had. The food was hot and fresh, and we loved the large variety. I wish the jazz quartet played a bit more during our brunch, but as a musician myself I understand breaks are necessary. In the lobby, the music was perhaps a bit loud, however it suited the ambiance perfectly in the dining room. We are already discussing that we will return the next time they return to town, and Ill be spreading the word to my local friends and family.

We went for an early Saturday brunch. Food was delicious. We had eggs Benadic came with fresh fruit. Coffee was good too. Decor was relaxing. Only issue we had when time to leave server disappeared. On higher end of prices but very nice place for a special treat.

The food is still pretty good, but the service seems to have fallen off substantially in the last few years.The dining room was literally empty when we arrived, yet it took more than 5 minutes to be seated as the hostess was on.thr phone.Our server seemed much more interested in flirting with the bartender than taking care of us. We literally had to flag him down to order.We were then charged for something we didnt order AND forced to pay a completely undeserved 20% gratuity.Seriously... What kind of establishment forces a 20% gratuity on a 2 top with a $70 tab?! Seems pretty classless.Bix Bistro is where my wife and I have been celebrating our wedding anniversary for the past 2 years, however, after our experience last night, we will not be in a hurry to go back.

I celebrated my birthday at this beautiful spot in downtown Davenport. The server was amazing. The DCC salad so delicious. The salmon mouth watering. My husbands filet was cooked beyond his request but ate it anyway. The server said she would have another prepared but he insisted that he just eat the original filet. The Manager came out and spoke with us. As we completed our meal it was reported to us that the dinner had been comped. We said no! They insisted due to their high excellence in providing the best service and food. AMAZING! And the Strawberry Lemonade Cake was simply fabulous! I am not a huge fan of cake but this was so moist and delicious! I recommend this to anyone!!

Had a good bratwurst special and great service for group of 15.

Be sure to try the Presidential pork chop. Great Sunday brunch too.

Atrocious! The bartender CJ had an awful attitude, extremely unprofessional. I am appalled at his behavior.Check your bill. I inquired about a service charge and a 20% gratuity for a group of 3 and all of a sudden my bill came back with higher food prices due to a changing of the menu.Stay away from this place.

Regarding the Thanksgiving buffet. Our party of 5 adults/2 children tasted it, the food flavors were good, but everything! was lukewarm at best. Between the 7 of us, everyone had a variety of of the dishes, and the comments were the same-nothing was hot.I told the waiter that, and also the manager. It was quite a disappointment, and embarrassment to us as hosts. Leaving to eat at another restaurant was not a realistic option because of the holiday. Also, by this time of day everyone was hungry; so we ate some food, paid the bill, and left.I have tried contacting this business at least 7 times by email or phone, and have yet to receive a reply.

Where do I start. Arriving early for a party reservation I am ignored at the bar for 20 minutes. As our party of 11 arrives we are seated in a private room then soon forgotten about and it only went downhill from there. To make a long story short it was by far our worst dining experience. Between the 11 of us 80% of their dinner menu was ordered all of which turn out to be unsavory, tasteless and darn near repulsive. Personally I do not know because after a 2 and a half hour wait I never received my food. As my 10 friends reluctantly finished eating their overpriced subpar entrees mine was finally delivered in a greasy box to go.Very unprofessional and rude staff from the water girl to their manager. I am darn right shocked and appalled how this place conducts business. This place was so bad I walked out without paying for my drinks. For the love of God save your money because this place is not worth a penny.

We dine here often, its usually not overly busy. The food is truly hand made, not from a pre-made vender and reheated. So the kitchen takes a little longer then sometimes wanted, but the reward is a sweet and savory one. Well worth the money and time spent.

Came for our Valentines Day dinner. Food was wonderful with very nice options to choose from and our waiter Quann was excellent! Helpful, funny, witty and professional. Very nice young man. He gets just as much of a 5 star as the food itself. Look forward to going back to check out the regular menu outside of the Vday specials.

We had a few cocktails at the bar. The bartender, Hanna, was very friendly. Recommend stopping in and enjoying the comfort of this establishment.

All the charm was crashed today at brunch.A credit card of a friend of mine was lost by waiter, food and beverages manager instead of sorting this situation out demanded another way of covering the bill. Completly ignoring the fact that the card was lost by her staff. She mentioned you can try to find your card by yourself. As a matter of fact another client found the card dropped on the floor. Despite that Chrissy remained offensive and did not even apologize for this situation.Neither me or a friend of mine are from US (Egypt and Poland) . So far we were amazed by consumer service in most of the places we visited around here. Chrissy proved that there is exemption from every rule.

The Bix bar was wonderful. Our bartender was on top of his game and made us some phenomenal drinks. (Seriously the fresh ginger killed it. We stop that technique for home.) However the food section was lacking. We came in one night for drinks and some appetizers. We were told the appitizers were half price so we ordered the muscles. These were good, but when the bill came they charged us full price for them. The next night we had dinner in the restaurant. The food was ok, but the portion sizes were exceedingly small for the cost. My sisters steak was served to her cold, and my husbands pasta was as dry as bone. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, and we had a wonderful time chatting with her. She is the main reason that I am rating this as high as I am because without her service we were pretty disappointed.

Traditional Eggs Benedict breakfast is good. Service is a little slow in morning but very pleasant.

Didn’t have a table for our reservation that was made weeks ago, waited 90 minutes for our food. Beyond that, food was subpar despite the fact there wasn’t anyone else ordering food in the restaurant at the time.

Hard to find. I wouldnt know about it if this wasnt on google maps. The restaurant entrance is hidden on the side by the parking lot. The place is very swanky but the lunch prices were reasonable. Had the grouper sandwich which i liked.

Very unprofessional and rude manager. Her name was Chrissy. Extremely unprofessional and very incompetent to handle clients. One of her staff lost my card, while paying, and she comes and asks if i have another card to pay with. And that if im concerned about my card i should go and look for it. A few minutes later another member of her staff finds my card somewhere on the floor.Extremely unprofessional and rude, its a shame because the place is actually decent, but when you have someone like that managing, its ruined.

Great food, horrendous service! My wife and I, along with my parents and another couple visited Brix yesterday for dinner. My wife and I had never visited this restaurant, but our parents and friends had and raved about the food. We placed a reservation earlier that evening and arrived just before 8 pm. The restaurant was not busy as only a few tables were seated, plus half a dozen people at the bar. We sat waiting for 15 minutes and just as we were about to head to the bar to place a drink order, the waitress finally checked in with us. At the same time, another party of 6-8 people were seated near us. After 5 of us placed a drink order and my mom requested a sample, we waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks and bread. Unfortunately, rather than wait to see whether my mom liked the wine sample to order a glass, she left and didnt return for another 15-20 minutes. We are now almost an hour in and barely able to place our food order. After 45 minutes, we still hadnt received our food, a refill on our waters or our drink orders, nor seen/spoken to the waitress when she comes over to offer us a free round of drinks because of the delay. However, as she was pouring our free round of drinks, the group that arrived 15 minutes after us were being handed their food! No explanation as to the delay or why the other groups orders were being delivered, just an apology and our food arrived 15 minutes later. Again, it was not very busy - only a handful of tables were seated, the hostess prepared tables, a bus boy delivered our drinks and cleaned up a table or two, and a short-blonde haired woman was helping deliver food. We even seen the chef come out in his grey chef coat and meander around the tables and disappear within 5 minutes. Obviously, we were not happy with the service and planned to reflect such in our tip. After finishing our food, we waited another 15 minutes to receive the checks at which time the waitress advised the gratuity had automatically been added. Usually that is fine with me, given a larger party, but after a night of terrible service and waiting over an hour for our food, management could have been more considerate and waived it - or even discounted the bill if they couldnt override the automatic gratuity! The food was delicious - Blackhawk salads all around, Beef Tips, and Presidential Pork Chop, but we could have had a delicious meal elsewhere and in half the time. After speaking with other family members and friends this weekend, it sounds as though this slow and terrible/dry service is a known concern. No wonder they werent very busy, and now they lost both loyal and new customers in one night! I would have given 1 star, but the food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant/hotel was well-kept and beautiful.
