We went in mid October 2020 (Corona era). Weather was perfect, air was fresh and crowd was manageable, people wore mask and respectful toward other visitors. Pumpkin village is great attraction but yes it was crowded, though park authority was trying their best to keep particular number people inside pumpkin village. We enjoyed most near lake, live music performance, cool breeze and coffee. It was perfect

Great place to spend the day, walking around and enjoying all the plants, trees, fountains. Great for kids and family. Went at Halloween time and I have never seen so many different pumpkins in my life. Very educational and also a pumpkin patch for kids. Face masks are required right now, but not a big deal. My husband and I went to Dallas to see the pumpkin art exhibition. It was lovely! I enjoyed seeing the creativity and good use of pumpkins. Im also glad they will be recycling them into mulch. I was concerned at the amount of people that were there with children between 1-2pm. A lot of parents were forcing their kids to take pictures so there were kids crying and being whiney. They should just go to a pumpkin patch instead. Leave this for adults! However, Im grateful the staff was walking around and continually enforcing masks. I personally dont think they should charge for parking since theres plenty of it.

The Arboretum is my happy place in Dallas. I was there for the Tulip festival. Got to enjoy the 12 Nights of Christmas. Im always excited to go. They arrange everything so beautifully. And it changes every season so there is always something new to see every couple of months. There is a kids area, which does cost extra, that the little ones love with hands on activities. If youre an avid gardener or a lover of outdoors, you have got to visit.

I have been 3 times. Once in October, many of the flowers still in bloom, lined with pumpkins, beautiful. Twice in November, once during the day, which the flowers were not as pretty, but I understand why. Went back in the evening and was disappointed. I thought it would all be lit up and the Christmas Village would be open. However, it was not lit up as expected and the Christmas Village was not open yet.

The arboretum always hosts the season celebrations, during the off season week the entry tickets might be available for a cheaper price. The staffs are available everywhere ensuring the visitors are wearing their masks and guiding them. The evening visits during the holiday season is very good. The lighting arrangements are very good. Ensure to take your mat or picnic set to sit beneath the trees and enjoy the place.

Went to 12 nights of Christmas during night time. I thought it would be something like holiday light displays at some other botanical gardens around the country. To be honest, 12 nights was pretty underwhelming. It was basically 12 dioramas that illustrated the song. Some of the dioramas were kind of creepy. My 2 and 5 year old thought it was interesting. So your mileage may vary.In addition, there were only lights in the 12 nights area and no lights in the other parts of the botanical garden. I wish I went during the daytime because the gardens looks amazing from the little I could see at night. GO DURING THE DAY.

This was a pretty neat experience. I thought I was just going to see some lights on trees and stuff, but this year the theme was the 12 Days of Christmas. This means there were 12 display stations scattered throughout the garden with everything from the drummers drumming to the partridge in a pear tree. There were a few times we had to question which way to the next display because they werent always on a defined path. However, there were signs and helpers everywhere. Between stations 9 and 10 (i think) there was a little food place where we bought some gingerspice coffee and hot chocolates. There were butane heaters in the seating area. After seeing the 12 displays, there was a little Christmas village that we checked out. There was a Santa (behind a slab of plexiglass) that we could take pictures with as well as a few props and picture-worthy areas throughout.. there were also several mini shops that we went through looking for hidden animals (pictures) in a fun little scavenger hunt. At a few of the shops, the attendants were handing out little items for the kids to enjoy such as candy from the candy shop, seeds from the flower shop, little wooden tree ornaments, and other stuff. Overall a great experience especially during a pandemic. Most visitors wore masks and did social distancing as much as they could. The attendants made sure there was only one family in the shops at a time (usually). And there were sanitizer stations all over the gardens. While, this was a great place to visit at night, I think it would be better appreciated if there was still a little light out. As cool as the themed displays were, I thought the garden was beautiful from what I could see. Most of the pictures I took were of my family, but here are a few other pictures from around the gardens.Would recommend. My wife wants to come back and bring a friend or two preferably before the sun goes down.

I absolutely love the arboretum. Its one of my favorite places in this city. Their themes are always so well executed! With covid 75% capacity is a bit much for these pathways. But it is what it is. Other than that it was a great time and absolutely beautiful.

This place is huge. There are two different parks. The Arboretum side and the interactive kids play park. You have to pay for each separately. I wish I could have checked out the kids play park but the line was too long. Its right on White Rock lake in a beautiful neighborhood. There are mansions across the street from it. They also have cafes, a restaurant, and tea room inside. You should reserve ahead for the tea room. You have to pay for parking and I recommend paying for it on their website ahead of time. If you get there before 11AM on certain weekdays they have free cooking classes there with free samples - super fun and tasty. If its your first time going there, youre going to need a map. They have a ton of fountains and a beautiful waterfall you can walk under. During the month of October they have ~100,000 pumpkins scattered all along the walkways including a pumpkin patch for the kids. They build really could installations using the pumpkins. They even have a beautiful Cinderella carriage you can take pictures with. Be prepared for it to be packed though. The restaurant is pretty cool though. You can sit outside and they try to move each table into the shade a much as possible. If youre on the waiting list theyll call you when your table is ready.
