Absolutely love coming to the Dallas Contemporary Museum! This museum always steals my heart with its fashion exhibits and unique art! The phenomenal simplicity aesthetic completes every exhibition to the max!!! I’m always excited to see a new exhibit at this location in Dallas!

Art is in the eye of the beholder and the exhibitions at this museum showcase that so well. Art should be accessible and this museum does a good job of make sure of it. The exhibitions were very intriguing and I made it a point to read every description. It’s free to enter but I highly recommended donating (museum recommends $5) using a card or cash. The greeter at the door was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any question. I will definitely be back to check out the next exhibits.

I love the Dallas contemporary so much! They always have great exhibits, and the people who work there are so friendly. The museum is free, but they appreciate donations- even if you dont carry cash they have a really handy credit card donation machine that will auto-donate $5 if you swipe your card.

This free museum is small but usually has at least one exhibit that will make you feel things and/or ask questions. Because the art is so unique its better to go with a friend or someone to talk through your thoughts with, in my opinion. True art fans may disagree.

Great place in a kind of industrial area, the two girls that work in the front desk very helpful and knowledgeable, always good to have people that truly know about the artists and their oeuvre, also love the fact that you had on one side something conceptual and installations and on the other half they had painting(John Currins), pretty interesting actually

My favorite Dallas art museum. Shows are always excellent and offer new and interesting perspectives from a roster of global artists.

It looks like the exhibits switch relatively frequently but when I went In May 2018 it was just plain weird. Entry was free but we paid the suggested donation and it was not worth it. Lots of nudity in the art which is fine if you’re looking at like beautiful oil paintings or something but these were photographs and made me feel icky. I guess a lot of people are into this stuff but if you’re just a casual art enjoyer there are several great museums in Fort Worth.

Art should be accessible, and it’s very much so here at the contemporary. they ask for a minimal donation but they constantly switch out their galleries that it’s never a dull visit there.

The Dallas Contemporary is always a blast to go to with a huge variety of different artists from around the world. They have no permanent collection, so the work is always changing, and best of all its free! The Contemporary runs off just memberships and donations. If youre in the area be sure to pop in for a visit!

I visited on a Saturday in the early afternoon. Absolutely lovely. Quiet, not too crowded, not in a very busy area, free admission. Overall, great space with great art and very helpful staff. I highly recommend it and will be back soon!

Your experience varies greatly depending on what exhibitions are on display, but objectively the Dallas Contemporary is a great gallery. Its a fairly large gallery space with ample area provided between pieces. It wasn’t very busy when I went, so there was always a bench seat available by the pieces. I just hope you dont go while its busy because there’s limited parking. But really, you can’t complain all that much about a free gallery that displays prominent artists. My only real gripe with the Contemporary is that it is in an awkward location. It took me several turnarounds to find it. But thats not something they can easily change. Just be mindful to look for the signs leading you to it.Overall, I highly recommend the Dallas Contemporary and will be keeping track of their future shows.
