We held my grandma’s funeral last Friday. Funeral director was so loving and caring. But, my mother and I had the worst service from the security guard at the front of the gate. He wouldn’t let us in, despite that we had to arrange everything. We had to be there an hour early, even the truck with the flowers, had to be on standby. Until one of my family members called me that they were already in the mortuary.Poor service from that man. I hope he changes his attitude towards the future clients.

My mom is buried there, 2003. My dad passed March 10, 2020 and Holy Cross is lovingly holding my dad until this coronavirus has passed and we can put him with my mom. Thank you Holy Cross staff for all you are doing for our loved ones.UPDATED June 2020. After calling twice and leaving messages for Gino, since I was told he was the only one who had information on details about my dads funeral, Gino calls the Executor of my dads Will, and not me, the daughter. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and hurtful!

I had occasion to visit Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City Ca and their representative named Gilbert assisted me.I was unable to locate a number of graves after trying myself, and went back to the office to ask for assistance. Your representative Gilbert was professional and courteous. He located each grave for me and took the time with me to snap pictures.Thank for Gilbert. I so appreciated his caring and helpfulness. I hope you will recognize his excellent customer service.Laurel GoodwinLos Angeles , CA

I believe my Grandparents are buried here. How can know for sure? Is there a list somewhere on line? I suppose I shall call. They have been here since the 60s... I think remember coming here as a child. I was born here and come back frequently to visit but should come to the graveyard.. I would love to bring my children here to visit also.

A large beautiful cemetery to remember your loved ones. They have chapels on the grounds which enable you to hold all funeral and burial events in the same place, even rooms where you can cater food for the attendees of the services. One place for all your needs.

I’ve always had a good experience with this cemetery and it’s been a really long time since I’ve seen my grandmas grave since this quarantine started and I brought my service dog with me and they make me but her in the car while it’s almost 90 degrees outside and now I can’t spend time with my family because of this. Thank a lot.

Overly priced? I agree, considering not only for a Catholic cemetery but for overly strict quality they are such as limited decorations, Christmas trees, and so on. Come on folks, Ive been in Catholic school for 12 years of my life (Thanks mom and dad, I love you always), but please have a softer heart for our loved ones and their families and give family and friends a little break out of respect for Gods sake! Also, too much sun! Plant more trees Lorax instead of cutting the grass almost about every day of the week! I want to visit my loved ones in peaceful silence once in a while. Staff is polite and I appreciate that much. I also appreciate how theyve encouraged me to start planning my days when I get to go home in His mansion, BUT I believe that my family will be visiting me and gramps elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

My mother is buried her and my family and I come every week to bring mom fresh Flowers. Security guards seem to find reasons to approach us and bully us for dumb reasons. If your umbrella is a little too big its considered a beach umbrella. We have seen people bring tents, canopys and beach umbrellas and we see the guards drive by and they tell them nothing. Yet on several occasions we had so me people visiting their loved one very close to our grave and every time they are smoking marihuana. One day I stopped two guards that were driving by to complain. They went to talk to them and the whole time they kept pointing at me. They then came to tell us there was nothing they could do because they claimed it was a religious ritual. And besides smoking pot was becoming legal anyway. I was so angry at them and asked them isnt smoking prohibited here whether its pot or regular cigarettes. They said there was nothing they could do because they were just security guards and if had that problem again they recommended we call the police ourselves. So they are pretty much there to harass you for petty stuff, not to enforce the rules. The place is pretty and clean, but beware of the useless security, theyre there just to harass you.

I have been visiting since 1981. Every time I go to spend time visiting my 5 loved ones, the grounds are always well kept. Its a beautiful, peaceful resting place for those who hold their loved ones in high regard. I would highly recommend this site for anyone who wants to be close to their departed. Hours are great, staff is accomodating friendly and personable. My only complaint, I wish the grounds keepers would do better at keeping the water well, for the flower vase better maintained, not allowing the grass to grow over them to avoid me having to put in a work order request to have them uncovered and pulled back out every once in awhile. Other than that, you will be pleased and find comfort that your loved ones are in a great resting place.

I was initially satisfied with the planning & services of my mothers visitation & funeral. Things like no staff knowing how to operate the coffee maker in the reception room on the night of my moms visitation did not affect me. A family member figured it out after a 15 min google search. However, the delay and run around I have gotten since regarding my moms death certificates has caused me to now be extremely frustrated & disappointed. On 11/23/18, my family & I met with staff to plan services for my mother. We ordered 10 copies of her death certificates at this time. We were told death certificates would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. After 2 weeks, I called to inquire about them. The rep replied that they werent in yet and would take 2 weeks from burial date (as opposed to date of death). Fine. However after waiting the additional 2 weeks with no call from Holy Cross, I called for an update. I was told they still hadnt arrived and the delay may be due to the Xmas holidays.Long story short ... I call at least once every week to follow up on the death certificates. Time & time again I was told, they havent come in yet but we will call you as soon as they arrive. On 1/9/19 (almost 6 weeks since my moms burial), I called our mortuary rep, Marina. After she told me the certificates were still not in, I asked her if I could get a working copy of a death certificate as my moms estate attorneys could not even give my family an appointment without at least a working copy from the mortuary. Marina said she had to ask her manager about this but she would get back to me. On 1/15/19, I called Marina to follow up on not just the Certified Death Certificates but also the working copy that I had requested. Unfortunately, she was not working that day. After expressing my frustration about the delay, I was transferred to Angela, who assured me that she had just spoke to someone who confirmed that the death certificates were ready and implied it was the countys fault that they hadnt been picked up. She added that someone was retrieving it and the certificates would be at their office by later that afternoon or the following afternoon at the latest. But guess what? I called the following day and they are not there. It was back to well call you as soon as they arrive. This is unacceptable! Its bad enough that my family and I are still grieving the loss of my mother, but we cant even move forward in settling her affairs until we receive Certified Copies of her Death Certificates! I email our rep, Marina, to share my frustration and ask for the date the certificates were ordered because now I am suspecting no one even ordered them. No reply. So today, 1/21/19, I call Holy Cross again. I am put on hold for at least 30 min only to get cut off. Finally Im able to speak with Angela, who is now back-tracking her statement from last week and now cant even tell me if the certificates were ordered. And because today is a holiday (MLK), she cannot give me more info. You would think that after all my calls, someone would be alerted to the fact that there is an unusual delay with my moms death certificates and perhaps they should investigate the problem. So, 8 weeks after my moms death, I still have no idea when I will receive the certificates and I feel like no one at Holy Cross cares to find out what happened to them.Thankfully, I found where I can file a complaint online ... cfb.ca.gov.Including my mother, I have 7 family members buried at Holy Cross. I have 7 more family members who have pre-paid plots there. Unfortunately, we will now think long and hard about having future services there through their mortuary.

The Place to be when we must say good bye for now is here at Holy Cross. Peaceful, calm serenity surrounds you when you stop by to visit the grave site of our beloved departed love ones. The place for most of the time is clean and well kept. The grass is a bit dry but then again we are in a terrible drought here in Southern California so they irrigate when ever possible and they try to keep the grounds healthy green best they can. Over all I would recommend to a friend.

Dont really know how else to rate a Catholic cemetery that makes you feel its less a place of solace for family survivors than a profit-making corporation. Theres nothing on its property that doesnt have a price tag on it. The sadness is that Catholics feel they must put the remains of their loved ones here. Why even hold on to remains? Part of the Catholic emphasis on the body rather than the spirit. With so many alternatives today for dignified disposal, including burial in select forests, why anyone would subject their loved ones remains to a bath in formaldehyde and entombment in a cement vault is beyond me.

I was a little worried that my parents had prepaid for their services in advance. I had heard horror stories from other mortuaries that tacked on all kinds of extra charges when the time came to honor their commitments, but I didnt need to worry. Our family put together a wonderful celebration of my mothers life when she passed in Jan. 2013 and Nick helped us every step along the way and their prepaid contract was honored without a hitch. We hope our father will be around for a long time to come, but we know hell receive a dignified service at Holy Cross when his time comes.

Our grandfather (who was laid to rest here, as was his wife) was the Maitre Di to The Beverly Hills Hotel (California) for a number of years from 1945 after serving and protecting our mainland while on reserve as a technician for WWII, before his untimely death in the early 1970s. He was always spoken of very highly by many... and had he not passed before I was born, my life would have been far more richer (the kind that not even money can touch, that is). Bless him. RIP

Theres something to say about grave site that is advertised to house one hit wonder 1968 wonder Sharon Tate that makes me say only in LA. I never made it to her final place of rest for two reasons:1. I was never a big Charlie Manson fan.2. Sharon Tate either.Instead my girlfriend and I found ourselves looking at a statue of Roman Catholic opulence in the middle of what I can only describe as something of a garden reminiscent to that of a Japanese one but with a California influence. This place is beautiful and I was humbled from the unexpected peace and calm it brought me in its carving out a little piece of nature and serenity in the middle of this never-ending concrete jungle.Dont forget to check out the trash cans! When you find them youll know what I mean.

Did not have a good experience with Holly Cross at all!The staff treated us as we should of known what were doing,we did not understand all there terminology as to things we needed to buy. The staff seem to be irritated when we ask a question.I specifically ask them not to cut my dads mustache or eyebrows. At the visitation looking at my father mustache was chopped up eyebrows thin out not the way my dad looked at all and they had a photo very disappointed in them. And very overpriced for a Catholic place ,The Headstone $ 1070. I priced other places $500 and less But if you buy out of Holly Cross, Holly Cross will charge you $200fee to bring in outside vendors. Then we buried our grandmother there 3 months later and the priests hurry up my cousin threw her eulogy three times no respect were saying our goodbyes. Also another cousin trying to take pictures and the priest told him if he doesnt want more time hes done this is over. Why didnt we bury our loved ones elsewhere, because their plots were bought 30 years ago.

I have to take away the store because they do run over peoples graves as they mow the lawn here and you can see the tire tracks on peoples plaques.

No grieving person should be asked to clean up after they rented the adjacent facility for the repass. Ask if maintenance cost is included in the total cost before signing anything if your intent is to rent the facility for after the service. Staff requested that grievers cleanup and take out their own trash. Not Christlike at all.
